Supercharged, 53k Miles, 3rd Owner, Gorgeous Estoril Blue, Two Tone Interior on 2040-cars
Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States
You are bidding on a 1999 BMW Z3 M Coupe. The one and only legendary "Clown Shoe"! If you've had your eye on the market for a while, you know these are quickly becoming a cult classic in the car world, and are beginning to demand collector-car prices. Car will be listed/publicized elsewhere, so it may not last the entire auction. If you're a serious buyer, please give me a call at 517-425-0142 (Eric), or contact through ebay/email. Car was purchased in 2012 from long-term 2nd owner with around 40K miles, now sitting at about 53,900. Good ownership history, with dealership maintenance and no accidents. Car has been stored during winters, driven sparingly in inclement weather, and will come with a custom-fit indoor car cover.
Exterior: Beautiful Estoril Blue; Best color for Z3 M Coupes, in my opinion. Great overall condition, no accidents, all VIN tags intact. Front fascia encountered highway debris a few years ago resulting in a crack. Damage wasn't that bad, but I opted for a new pre-primed BMW replacement, and had it professionally resprayed by a trusted local painter. Excellent color match and paint quality. Few nicks/chips here and there; few minor dings on lower body. Nothing that detracts from the overall appearance of the car, but i'm extremely picky. Front fascia side markers color-matched. OEM wheels have been professionally stripped and polished, very cool look. Interior: Blue/black two-tone interior. Very nice condition. Pretty minor/normal wear on driver's side bolster. See interior pics. Aftermarket AC Schnitzer pedal set. Mechanical: 3.2 inline 6, car has always ran great and been very reliable. Fuel stabilizer always used for seasonal storage. Regular oil changes using either BMW or Liqui-Moly oil, and either BMW, MANN, or Mahle filters. Pads and rotors are new within the past 6 months, brake lines upgraded to stainless steel, and brake fluid is high performance ATE. Tires are also pretty much new, Sumitomo HTRZIII (OEM sizes). Rogue Engineering rear shock mounts. Just recently changed engine oil/filter, supercharger oil, spark plugs, and o2 sensor. Car is also equipped with an upgraded OEM BMW S54 radiator. Supercharger: VF Engineering "VF350" kit. 6.0 PSI boost. Vortech V3 Si SQ. 350hp/300tq. Very safe and reliable kit, from a very reputable company with a lot of experience in forced induction. Kit has been installed for about 1.5 years, plenty of long road trips, etc... Always been very happy with it. Fuel consumption doesn't suffer that bad depending on driving habits. Kit is reversible; I have the miscellaneous OEM intake parts, and the ECU would need reflashed to stock settings. Please take the time to review the description and pictures, don't hesitate to call 517-425-0142 for questions, and i'll also keep a close eye on my ebay messages. I can help out with shipping logistics if necessary; I know a good company for enclosed transport. Purchase details: 25% non-refundable deposit due within 3 days of auction close, balance due within 7 days or vehicle pickup, whichever comes first. Car sold as/is. No warranties/refunds implied.

BMW X3 spied with nip and tuck nearly complete
Fri, 18 Oct 2013With the style-driven BMW X4 coming along in development, it looks like some of the forthcoming crossover's design could trickle over to its utilitarian sibling, the X3. Captured in these spy shots, it appears that the 2015 BMW X3 is preparing for a minor facelift, and from what we can tell, the biggest change will center on the CUV's headlights.
There is plenty of camouflage on the front and rear fascias to suggest updates will occur there, too, but we can definitely tell that the X3 will be getting LED-equipped headlights - at least as an option, anyway. The halos are slightly different from the current offering and there is also an LED strip above the headlights used as turn signal indicators. Another interesting thing we notice in these pictures is the nub at the bottom of the grille (also visible in recent X4 spy shots). While this could be some sort of test sensor for this prototype, it could also be a front-mounted camera for a possible parking assist system.
We don't expect any changes to the powertrain and we're not sure what updates could be in store for the interior, but we're guessing that that the 2015 X3 will debut shortly after the X4 goes on sale next year.
BMW reveals updated 2016 Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe
Thu, Feb 12 2015Do you dig the BMW M6 Gran Coupe, but really wanted one with all-wheel drive? We can hardly blame you, considering how well it held up against the Nissan GT-R and Bentley Continental GT in the Australian Outback on a recent episode of Top Gear, despite the disadvantage on driven-wheel count. But that, you see, is where Alpina comes in. The "other M division" offers the a twin-turbo 6 Series Gran Coupe with four-wheel traction – even here in the US – and it's just been upgraded. The 2016 BMW Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe packs a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, just like the M6. But whereas the previous B6 packed less power than its factory counterpart, the new one surpasses it. Thanks to a boost by 60 horsepower and 50 pound-feet of torque, the B6 now cranks out 600 hp and 590 lb-ft – which rather impressively bests the M6 by 40 hp and 90 lb-ft. Plus it's driven to all four wheels. The manufacturer says that's good for a tenth of a second off the 0-60 time, now quoted at 3.6 seconds, with a top speed pegged at 200 miles per hour, making this the fastest Alpina ever offered. The 2016 B6 also benefits from new headlamps, upgraded brakes and reshaped aerodynamic elements, but it's mostly the power boost that makes this the quickest Alpina off the line in the company's history. Related Video: THE NEW BMW ALPINA B6 XDRIVE GRAN COUPE Enhancements for 2016 model year deliver more power and refinement than ever. Woodcliff Lake, N.J. –February 11, 2015... The new 2016 model year BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe gains subtle BMW enhancements and benefits in particular from the results of continuous development by ALPINA. The four-door Gran Coupe, already widely recognized for aesthetic beauty and impressive driving performance, raises the benchmark with exciting new details. The new BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe will become available to order starting in March 2015, with US deliveries slated to begin at BMW Centers in June. Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date. The BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe is available as a special-order vehicle with capacity-limited production underscoring its exclusivity. The B6's body is manufactured in the BMW 6 Series factory (Plant Dingolfing) and hand-finished with the remaining ALPINA components at the ALPINA factory in Buchloe, Germany. The hand-finishing sequence at ALPINA increases the production lead-time by approximately two weeks.
2014 BMW 535d xDrive
Thu, 20 Feb 2014I absolutely love to travel, but man, do I hate flying. Not the act of flying itself, but air travel in general - slogging through the airport, dealing with security, fighting with delays, only to finally be crammed like cattle into a too-small airplane seat where you're offered $8 sandwiches that are half-frozen. (Okay, it's not always that bad, but still.)
So when I was tasked with attending the launch for the 2015 Subaru WRX STI in Carmel, CA, I had a choice to make. I could fly into San Francisco and find my own way down to Carmel, or I could grab a turbo-prop out of SFO and fly directly into Monterey. And since you're reading about all of this in a car review, it's pretty obvious which option I chose.
The current BMW 5 Series isn't a new car, despite receiving a couple of updates for the 2014 model year. But what is new is the 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline six-cylinder engine found underhood, borrowed from the larger X5 xDrive35d and also seen in the upcoming 740Ld xDrive. It's a honey of an engine, and here in the 5 Series, it makes for a truly first-class experience.
