NO RESERVE, HIGH BID WINS!

2001 BMW M Roadster with less than 71,000 miles.

My retired father's car, selling due to health reasons.

Starts, Runs, and Drives excellently!

Very fun and fast! Never, ever seen salt or snow, fair weather driven only.

Been driving less and less each year and now is time to sell.

Garage kept and stored during winter season(s)

Purchased several years ago from company CEO in Florida.

New stuff- less than 1,000 miles

  • Tires- General G-MAX All Season Performance tires (all four)
  • Brakes- Zimmerman pads and rotors (front and rear)
  • Power Steering Pump- BMW OEM
  • Factory Scheduled Maint.- glorified synthetic oil change

Newer stuff- last couple seasons

  • Ignition Coils- Updated BMW OEM per service bulletin
  • Spark plugs- BMW OEM
  • Driveline Fluids exchanged

Car is bone stock original, no aftermarket accessories, exhaust, or performance parts installed. (still has the "business" stereo)

I would personally rate the car as very good condition, not perfect, museum, or mint condition, but very good to excellent for its age. I will try to list all known quirks below:

Driver's seat bolster shows wear (they all do), has marks on rim from shop who installed the new tires, drivers front bumper has small area of blotchy clear coat fade? (see picture, not impact or scuff), few other very minor blemishes but no dents, dings, or deep scratches, very few rock chips. Rear window little hazy but not bad (told zips in/out, $100 online??), Exhaust seems little buzzy to me intermittently but BMW said is normal raspy note at higher rpms. (maybe loose heat shield, may be nothing??)

Please ask before bidding, car is available for inspection for serious buyers only, please don't waste either of our time if you are not prepared to follow thru with purchase.

Translogic 182: CXC Motion Pro II Racing Simulator

Thu, Aug 13 2015

Translogic gets some seat time in the CXC Motion Pro II to test if the high fidelity racing simulator can impact our host's real-life track times. Host Jonathon Buckley hits the track at Auto Club Speedway of California in a 2015 BMW M4 to put down a baseline lap time before his virtual training session in the Motion Pro II. After learning the lines of the track in a simulated setting, Jonathon returns to the track to put his skills to the test. "We designed it, originally, as a professional training tool for race car drivers," says CXC Simulation's founder and president Chris Considine. "Make it authentic. Make it real." The Motion Pro II boasts "thousands of cars and track models," ranging from street cars, to rally and off-road vehicles. Will this hyper realistic racing simulator help Jonathon improve his lap time? This family has a trio of beautiful BMW E28 5 Series

Tue, Jan 6 2015

The Caccavo family is not like yours. They're actually far, far cooler. Rather than dad driving a pickup, mom piloting a crossover and son getting about in a clapped-out compact, each member of the family has their very own second-generation BMW 5 Series. Father Dean's M5, mom DonnaRae's 528e and son Austin's 535is were, remarkably, all purchased for under $10,000, after the family made a maximum-price rule for its cars. The E28 obsession all started innocently enough, with Dean's M5. Shortly after that, DonnaRae snapped up the 535is. When it came time to buy a car, his parents told him he'd need to get a job and make the purchase on his own. He agreed, under one condition – that he was able to buy his mom's 535is. Once the deal was said and done, DonnaRae found she'd acquired the E28 bug, and promptly bought herself the 528e. Petrolicious has the entire story on the Caccavos and their E28s, available in its latest installment. Check it out.
