Very well kept 1995 BMW 840 Ci w/ 81k miles in excellent condition.  Black with Black leather interior and what a blast to drive.  There are very very few left in the US with this low of miles and most of the ones even in the low 100's on miles are still asking $12-$15k.  I want this to go to a good home and someone who will appreciate this car.  The color combination is very desirable and hard to find.  The leather is in good condition as well as the paint.  There are a few spots on the car with little door dings or nickel to quarter size dings which I will show in pictures.  There is one spot next to the license plate where the plastic is slightly damaged (also shown in pics.)  The car runs/drives great and I would not hesitate to drive it long distance.  Serviced regularly.  I am very willing to make available anyone willing to come inspect in person, pick up from airport, deliver to a service shop of your choice for inspection if you cant come, or any other way I can be helpful for you to bid with confidence.  If you would like to fly in and drive it home, great, just give me a call 8OI-647-IOI2.  If you need a shipping quote I can help with that.  I work in the freight/logistics business and although not in the car transport area I have used a few good people in the past and can get you a quote.  A general idea would be around $400-600 west coast depending, $800 to midwest, and around $1000-$1100 to East.  I can help arrange it and handle but will be responsibility of buyer to pay for and at least do a 3 way call to speak with transport people so you are involved.  I have the car for sale/trade locally and reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the right offer presents itself locally. Car is sold as is.   Call 8OI-647-IOI2 with any questions.

I will try and put a link here tomorrow with more pics if I can figure that out...I'm not the most computer savvy person.  If you dont see the link please send me an address to shoot you over more pics and I will do so.

Please bid with confidence and only if you have your financing arranged and in place so there are no problems after the purchase.  Please only bid or make offer if you are fully prepared to complete the deal as it takes much time/effort to do this ebay auction.  Thank you.

BMW offering Track Handling Package for 2 Series

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

After getting a chance to drive the BMW M235i earlier this year, we mentioned our regret at not being able to sample the lighter and less powerful 228i Coupe. We'd like to have seen how close the latter could get to the former, noting that "there's a lot of room for upgrades with the $11,000 retail difference." BMW is closing that performance gap slightly, announcing that a Track Handling Package will join the options sheet for the 2015 228i Coupe.
The group bolts on Variable Sport Steering, Adaptive M Suspension and M Sport Brakes behind new 18-inch lightweight wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. There's no change to the 240-horsepower four-cylinder, but a coupe so equipped should be able to do plenty more with the horses it has thanks to a faster steering rack, sharper handling due to additional sensors and a ten-millimeter drop in ride height, and larger brakes and discs.
BMW has used the New York Auto Show as a venue to introduce the new Track Handling Package, and it will roll onto showroom floors in July and pricing will be announced sometime between now and then. Takers can get it with both the six-speed manual and eight-speed Sport Automatic, see it in the high-res image gallery above, and read about it in the press release below.

BMW M4 Convertible spied with naked top and trunk

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

Our trusty spy photographers have been at it again, snagging these first images of the forthcoming BMW M4 Convertible without camouflage on its retractable roof and rear deck. You'll recall that this is not the first time we've seen the followup to the M3 Convertible, but that the last batch of images we had were encumbered by a lot more camouflage - this car is virtually naked by comparison.
Not surprisingly, the M4 looks to share its folding hardtop design with the standard 4 Series droptop, and it should operate in a similar manner as well. It's no surprise, but it looks like BMW is going to try and make the transition from M4 Coupe to M4 Convertible as effortless as previous efforts converting the M3 to an M3 Convertible. That should mean that below the beltline, this car is nearly identical to the coupe we saw in Detroit.
As for the camo'd features on these spy photos, the hood, front fascia, rear fascia, quarter panels, side sills and mirrors have all been shown on the M4 Coupe, and don't really bear mentioning. There's been no word of just where the M4 Convertible will make its debut, although considering the lack of disguise on this car, Geneva seems like a likely destination.

Researchers halfway to cutting carbon fiber costs by 90%

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

Carbon fiber has been utilized for decades to build racecars, as a means to cut weight while maintaining strength. But until recently, the space-age material has been largely absent from the street on anything but supercars because of the expense to use it. Recently, BMW signaled a major shift in that trend when it starting using carbon fiber reinforced plastic panels on the i3 and i8. This relatively small scale start might be just the beginning; the German company believes that a breakthrough to inexpensively manufacture the lightweight stuff is just on the horizon.
MAI Carbon Cluster Management GmbH counts BMW, Audi, Airbus, the German government and many other organizations as supporters, and it's researching how to make carbon fiber cheaper to produce, according to Automotive News Europe. The company thinks it can reduce costs by 90 percent in the near future. "We've certainly reached a halfway point on our cost-cutting target for suitable carbon-fiber parts," said project head Klaus Drechsler to Automotive News Europe.
Unfortunately, it isn't entirely clear just what MAI Carbon is doing to make such a huge leap possible. However, a recent post on the company's website talks about a new form a carbon fiber using a thermoplastic matrix that could be cured in less than three minutes. That's compared to about 90 minutes in the traditional process with an autoclave.
