I am selling this car on the behalf of my father and all of the information stated is to the best of my knowledge. Please keep in mind that this is a 26-year-old vehicle, and all opinions in regards to its condition take its age into account.
This is a 1988 BMW 635CSi complete with what is believed to be, every component necessary to perform a manual transmission conversion (transmission, center console, pedals, etc.). My father purchased this car several years ago with the intent to perform the conversion, but never had the time to complete it. Since being purchasing, the car has seen little use and has been regularly garaged. The car was purchased from the widow of an avid 6-series fanatic who intended on performing the conversion but sadly passed away before getting the chance. Due to the unfortunate circumstances, not much is known about the car, and we have little service history for it.
Exterior: The car is finished in a beautiful light blue metallic, known as Cirrus Blue. The paint contains some blemishes and scratches, and there is some fading on the vinyl and rubber components, but overall the exterior of the car is very presentable. Interior: Lotus White, is the name of the leather interior the car carries. For being white, the leather is in decent shape – granted certainly not brand new condition. There are blemishes and marks, as you would expect with a vehicle of this age finished in this color of interior, but I believe a thorough detail would do wonders. Mechanical: The car runs and drives well. There are no known major issues, but I would suggest that the new buyer have the car serviced, as it has had little use in the last few years. The tires will also need to be replaced in the near future. This is a car in need of TLC that we unfortunately do not have the time to give it. That being said, it runs nicely and could certainly be a fun car for the right person. Included with the sale are all of the items you see in the last photo; manual gearbox, differential, bell-housing, interior components, etc. I am not attempting to mis-represent the car and it comes with no warranties or guarantees. It is sold "as is" I am not familiar with 6'ers and I am not looking to mislead anyone as their may be some details I have overlooked. We would just like the car to go a an owner that will give it the attention it deserves. I can help coordinate domestic shipping, and for appointments to view the car please message me. PLEASE, DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO PURCHASE THE CAR! |

This insane Barris-like custom car is a backyard BMW Z3 build
Fri, Jan 9 2015This is the second car made by Englishman Paul Bacon and it's called the Cosmotron, fashioned over 18 months in his backyard shed. Underneath that Jetsons bubble canopy and swinging-sixties body are the bones of a 1998 BMW Z3 with a 2.8-liter inline-six. Bacon stripped the roadster down, then built it back up using fiberglass laid over polystyrene foam, and leather hand-stitched by his wife. Bacon said he remembers how we were told that 21st-century cars would look like the Cosmotron, and since they don't, he had to fix the error. The list of 20th-century add-ons, however, is impressive, like the six SU carburetors topped off with department-store salt and pepper shakers, and the rear grille decorated with shiny plastic tops from moisturizer bottles. After driving the Cosmotron for two years, Bacon sold it to get ready for his third project. You can hear Bacon and the new buyer tell their stories in the video above.
Renault Scenic EV takes first place as (European) Car of the Year
Mon, Feb 26 2024The automobile awards season may not be over, but two of the more prestigious annual races came closer to a climax this week. One might need a scorecard to keep track. We’re focused here on two events: the World Car of 2024, now reduced to three finalists in six categories. Then thereÂ’s the Car of the Year, known in some quarters as the European Car of the Year. Except that the car doesnÂ’t have to be European to win, only sold there. Got that? Winners out of the way first: At the Geneva Motor Show on Monday, the Renault Scenic E-Tech all-electric has been voted Car of the Year 2024. The Scenic is a fairly compact, somewhat stylish SUV for Europe only, and is the seventh vehicle from the French brand to win the award. It sells in the United Kingdom for about $47,500. The other six finalists that had made the first cut of voting in November were the BMW 5 Series, BYD Seal, Kia EV9, Peugeot E-3008/3008, Toyota C-HR, and Volvo EX30. The trophy winner was chosen by a jury of 59 motoring journalists from 22 countries. Scenic came in first place with 329 points. The Seal was the first Chinese-made car to make this awardÂ’s shortlist; it finished sixth out of seven, just up from the Toyota. One judge explained his decision to grant the Seal zero votes. Writing in Top Gear, Paul Horrell wrote this entertaining critique: “It looks good and is well specified, so makes a strong market entry. The advanced electric system and cobalt-free battery are commendable too, and it's enjoyable enough to drive quickly. That's undermined by an agitated ride over bumps, and the logic of screens and switches is pretty eccentric.” Recapping the World Car of the Year 2024 update, the sponsors shared the stage at Geneva on Monday with the Europeans as well, although they revealed only the top three finalists in six categories. For the ultimate prize, they are the Kia EV9, the Volvo EX30 and the BYD Seal. The winners will be announced March 27 at the New York International Auto Show. Here's more on the World Car finalists. Best sport sedans for 2022 and 2023
Thu, Nov 11 2021SUVs dominate the car industry at every size and price level, but some people still prefer the looks, and more importantly, the performance and comfort, of the traditional sedan. With a lower ride height, lighter weight and generally smaller size, they often are much more fun to drive, and can even be more comfortable. Sport sedans of course lean harder on the performance side of things, and are among the best options for sheer speed and fun, thanks to those inherent characteristics. We've rounded up the ones in the segment that do the sporty dance better than any others in 2024 to give you a handy guide when you're shopping for one of your own. You'll find a wide array of cars here including gas, electric and hybrid powertrains. They'll have manual and automatic transmissions and drive the front, rear or all four wheels. Technically a few hatchbacks have slipped in, but they're close enough in look and feel that we wanted to include them. And excluding them means you might miss out on some of the best-driving options available. You wouldn't want that, would you? Alfa Romeo Giulia Why it stands out: Punchy four-cylinder; astounding power from Quadrifoglio; light and nimble character; awesome shift paddlesCould be better: Clunky infotainment; sub-par switchgear Read our Alfa Romeo Giulia review We start this list with one of the most predictable inclusions: the Alfa Romeo Giulia. Yes, it's a stereotype that the Italian sport sedan is fun to drive, but the fact is, well, it is. The Giulia comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 280 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful four-cylinders in the segment. It's paired with a snappy and smooth eight-speed transmission and either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The engine is lively and torquey, if a little short of revs, and the chassis feels super-light. The steering is eager and the car jumps into corners. We also highly recommend getting a version with the enormous and superb aluminum paddle shifters that make clicking through gears much more entertaining. And on the topic of the interior, it's attractive, but the various switches and knobs feels a little cheap, and the infotainment system is clunky. Of course there's also the incredible Giulia Quadrifoglio at the high end. It gets a Ferrari-derived twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 making 505 hp, and it's rear-wheel drive only.
