My loss can be your gain. My sudden change of situation has forced me to sell it. This 2007 BMW 650I convertible which I purchased can be a great summertime car. It will be sold with NY salvage title due to prior collision damage. The damage was basically all cosmetic. The car was involved in a fender bender and an insurance claim was paid .The Insurance company sold the vehicle with salvage title please check with your local DMV for titling issues every state has its own salvage rules. The car was damaged in the right front all the original parts were fixed this includes the bumper, hood and right fender. Check the photos and you can see the damage wasn't that bad. The car ran and drove with no frame or cooler damage. The drivers headlight has a crack in the corner check the photo. The drivers steering wheel airbag was replaced but will still need a new airbag control module. The car starts runs and drives as it should there were no mechanical issues. Currently, the radio does not work. The amplifier was replaced but will need to be reprogrammed. Everything else in the car appears to works as it should. The car runs and drives great and all the features work as they should. The odometer reads approx. 50.200 miles. Overall, this vehicle's exterior is very clean and shines as would be expected with every day normal use. There's a scratch on one fender please check the pics. The interior is clean and shows well. The convertible top is in very nice condition. AC blows hard and is ice cold. The heater and heated seats work as designed. The steering wheel control buttons and I-drive button all work correctly. To my knowledge, all the power options top, windows, door locks, lights buttons and switch's work as they should. The pod key also remotely opens and locks the doors and trunk. The navigation, A/C, trip and climate control screen works. The car steers straight with out you having to hold the steering wheel The brakes and suspension work great without any abnormal sounds. The car has had recent oil service and it is ready to drive. I am not a mechanic or technician. The car is located in Jamaica Plain, MA. 02130 and Buyer (winner of auction) will be responsible to have the car picked up or shipped from there. The car will be sold as is and with no warranty, written or implied. It is a salvage vehicle. Vin# WBAEK13577CN82052

BMW and Mini shuffle NA management, McDowell to retire

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

BMW and Mini recently shuffled top personnel in their design departments, and now BMW of North America will reorganize its management to improve customer relations. Peter Miles (pictured), currently the executive vice president of operations, will take a newly created position, vice president of sales channel development and customer relations, while Jim McDowell, vice president of Mini of the Americas, will retire.
Chris Koenders, president of BMW Group Netherlands, will move take Miles' spot as executive vice president of operations. David Duncan, western region vice president, will take McDowell's job as vice president of Mini of the Americas. Finishing off the management switcharoo is Peter Witt, who will move from his current position as Managing Director of BMW Sweden to take Duncan's job as western region vice president.
"We are intensifying our customer-driven focus and these changes will influence the entire organization to continue improving all phases of the customer journey from prospect to purchase and throughout the ownership cycle," says Ludwig Willisch, president and CEO of BMW NA. For more information on the management reorganization, check out the press release below.

2015 BMW M4 Coupe ditches some doors, gains some grunt

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

If you saw our earlier post about the hot new BMW M3 Sedan and were about to call blasphemy for no coupe version, just settle down, silly. Remember: BMW now badges its two-door 3 Series models with the number four, and thus, meet the 2015 M4 Coupe. Looks hot, right?
So yeah, it's pretty much just the M3 with two less doors, but that doesn't make it any less important - or potent. Power comes from a turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, sending 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. You know, the usual.
Not only is the M4 more powerful than the M3 Coupe it replaces, it's a good deal lighter, too. BMW has managed to cut 176 pounds of weight out of the M4, and that means, with the increased output numbers, that the M4 will scoot to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds with the DCT or 4.1 seconds with the do-it-yourself tranny. Either way, that's not what we'd call slow.

Meet the inventor of the BMW 3 Series wagon

Sat, 11 May 2013

It's hard to imagine, but once upon a time, there were only two BMW 3 Series variants: the coupe and sedan. Back before gran coupes, convertibles and yes, even touring models were available, buyers could only get their 3 Series fix if it came with two or four doors and a fixed roof. Back in the mid '80s, BMW engineer Max Reisbock was having some trouble fitting his whole family into his four door. Rather than suck it up and buy a van, he picked up a wrecked 3 Series and got to cutting in a buddy's garage. Months later, he had the very first 3 Series Touring ever built.
At first, he kept the the car to himself, using it to haul friends and family around, but he eventually showed it off to his friends at work. When the BMW executives found out about his project, they called him up to take a closer look. After putting an eyeball on the car, they took it, copied his design, made a few tweaks and quickly rolled out the first production 3 Series Touring. How's that for validation? Check out the video below for Reisbock's story.
