2006 Bmw 650i Base Convertible 2-door 4.8l on 2040-cars
Jensen Beach, Florida, United States
Custom Ordered in 2006, the first year for this car. I bought it as the 2nd owner in 2008. It has been garage kept and covered most of it's life. Fully loaded and a rare color. Also has factory Giovanna 20" tires with new Michelin Pilot Sport Tires and a custom tuned exhaust that shames Ferraris. :D Navigation does not work anymore (needs new disc or new player). The emblem blew off the hood (common issue). There are various negligent blemishes and dings here and there, but from 10 feet away looks like a brand new car. Interior is above average. Leather still smells new. Seats are treated twice a year. It just came out of warranty on April 22, 2014. I prefer to have full warranties, so I am looking to sell this car now. Looks identical through 2011. Dealer offered me $18,500 on trade in. I am looking to get $23,500 OBO as the rims are perfect and extremely rare. They were designed for this car and sold as a dealer installed option. All maintenance done. Needs nothing. Top is in excellent condition. Motor runs like the day I bought it. Ceramic brakes shoes, new OEM battery, anything this car needed it got. Pass through ski bag allows you to carry fishing rods inside the car. Amazingly large trunk. This car is awesome. Please check this car out. It will pass any inspection. Motor is like new, barely broken in (as told to me by a mechanic). The first 60,000 miles were put on by a traveling executive who commuted all over California in it. Car was driven to Florida from Ca by me and now has a clear title with Fla plates. This car is the most amazing vehicle I have ever owned. Ready for a new owner. I prefer a local buyer. Please bring a mechanic as this car is like new mechanically. You have to see this car in person. Drives just like a newer $80k one, but you can afford this one. Rare color, you may never see another in this shade (metallic gold in sunlight smoky gray at night. 2 owners, always been well cared for. Now its yours. Note: Only allowed 4 free pictures. I have detailed ones and video, but just come see the car. It is beautiful. |

Watch Atieva's electric van outrun a BMW i8 and Dodge Viper
Mon, Aug 8 2016A little while back, automotive startup Atieva drag raced its electric van, called Edna, against a Tesla Model S and a Ferrari California in order to compare its performance against known and revered mechanical athletes. Again, the Silicon Valley-based company is putting its prototype up against electrified and conventionally powered performance vehicles on the drag strip. Last time around, Edna, the Mercedes-Benz Vito van equipped with a 900-horsepower, all-wheel-drive powertrain, bested both of its foes. In that showcase, Edna was hitting 60 mph in a little over three seconds. Comparatively, BMW lists the i8's 0-60 time at 4.2 seconds, though Road & Track clocked it at 3.8 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 12.3 seconds. The Viper does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. Before you even watch the video above, you can imagine how it will end, as the retuned Atieva Edna rips 0-60 mph in 2.94 seconds. Atieva clocked the quarter mile at 11.3 seconds at 117 mph. It's worth noting that driver skill can have a lot to do with a car's straight-line performance. We've witnessed Viper's elapsing the quarter mile in well under 12 seconds, which means it should be quicker in this test than the i8, if not the Edna. Still, the performance showcased in the video is exceptional. To improve Edna's stats, Atieva says it has used testing data to fine tune its AC induction motors at higher speeds once it got low-speed performance locked in. After testing in the hot California sun, including the race you see above, Atieva drove Edna 90 miles home with range to spare. As for production plans, Atieva will put this powertrain into a sedan slated for sale in 2018. In the meantime, the company will keep testing and tuning its working prototype, and has even invited the public to put their cars up against Edna in future sessions. 2015 BMW 228i Convertible
Thu, Feb 5 2015BMW history is littered with small, four-seater convertibles that offer style, spirited performance and driving flexibility. These days it's the 2 Series range, not the 1 or the 3, that carries on the droptop-driver's-car tradition, and the 2015 228i Convertible will the first flavor of it to hit US shores. With prices starting in the upper $30k range, conservative but attractive exterior styling and just enough interior comforts and amenities to feel like a true-luxury player, the 228i makes a strong initial case for itself as either a first or second vehicle. Concurrent with my First Drive of the 2015 BMW X6 M, the Germans brought along their new 2 for testing along some pretty mellow Texas driving routes outside of Austin. With roads that ranged from sweeping country lanes to small town streets, and weather changing handily from cold and misty to bright and warm, I got a good sample of what the new open-top 2 can do. Drive Notes I'll admit to getting behind the wheel of the 228i convertible with a bit of a bias: the old 1 Series line, including the droptop, was amongst my favorite BMW models in years. In terms of overall character, this 2 Series has mellowed a lot versus the chuckable, cheerful 1er. The steering response isn't quite so whip-fast, and the longer wheelbase means it's less willing to rotate overall. Of course, the 2, especially in convertible form, does feel better suited for the stereotypical small, premium convertible driver, too. Ride quality over our mostly smooth-road drive route was placid and controlled, and steering still felt steady and weighty on center and with lock added in. The car also offers really well-sorted protection from wind buffeting and noise, both with the top raised and lowered. I drove topless on the highway and on surface streets, and was impressed at how cozy I felt with the wind deflector erected and the windows up. Cold-weather convertiblers should do well with this BMW (especially when the xDrive AWD car launches, later in the year). Erect the folding soft top – a feature that's available at speeds up to 30 miles per hour – and the NVH experience is transformed. BMW says that the top-up wind noise has been reduced "by half" versus the 1 Series – a fact that I had no trouble believing after the first few seconds. Wind rush is basically eliminated with the roof raised, and the car becomes a downright conversational space thusly set up.
BMW 2 Series Active Tourer getting third row
Sat, 23 Aug 2014In what enthusiasts will likely see as a continued attempt to dilute the BMW brand, the German manufacturer is testing a three-row variant of its already controversial 2 Series Active Tourer. Our trusty spy photographers captured images of the new, front-drive MPV testing on the roads of Europe.
The easiest way to ID this more passenger friendly 2er is its slightly longer length, which will allow it to accommodate seven people in total. As our spies point out, this should make the 2AT an attractive proposition for European taxi companies. Yep, BMW built a car that will be praised by taxi drivers. On top of the extra seats, the rear overhang appears larger as well, which should mean extra cargo space.
This, of course, is not the first time we've captured images of a new 2AT variant undergoing testing. Back in May, we spotted a hybrid-powered variant out for a drive.
