The car is being sold as he is semi retired and this great sports car is not as convenient for extended vacations and hauling the grand kids, an SUV has taken it's place. In triple black it is a very desirable combination and shows very well with virtually no paint defects and none that can be seen in even detailed photos. Everything works as it should. The tires and a complete brake job including rotors was completed at 46,585 miles. Always serviced with Mobil 1 a complete service was done at 58,788 miles. Numerous maintenance records are available and as stated, everything works on this car as it should.

BMW recalling 1 Series ActiveE over bad drivetrain housing
Wed, 30 Jan 2013There are always growing pains when automakers introduce new technologies. BMW is learning this with the electric powetrain used on the 2011 BMW ActiveE. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, about half of the all-electric 1 Series coupes currently in the hands of the public are being recalled for a potential problem that could leave the cars stranded.
With 700 ActiveE models running around the US, 360 of these cars have insufficient sealing between the electric motor and transmission, which could lead to premature wear to the connection between the two, which in turn could result in a loss of propulsion. BMW started notifying affected owners by phone earlier this month.
While no automaker wants a recall on its hands, it's much better for BMW to learn such a lesson now on the low-production, lease-only ActiveE ahead of the car's successor, the BMW i3, which is expected to be a much higher-volume EV. Scroll down for the official recall notification.

The total, after the $925 destination and handling charge: $66,749.
BMW confirms X4 for next year, i3 preorders starting to add up
Wed, 20 Mar 2013BMW has confirmed the long-anticipated X4 will bow next year. Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the automaker's board of management, made mention of the upcoming CUV during remarks at the company's annual accounts press conference. Reithofer said that BMW has sold more than 2.7 million X models since it began producing the machines, and that the company plans to expand those offerings with the new X4 next year. He declined to offer up any more details, though from what we've heard so far, the model will be more of a crossover than either the X3 or the X5.
Reithofer also made it clear that BMW is getting serious about electric vehicles, saying the i3 (pictured above, in prototype form) is "definitely coming to market" and that the runabout will be ready by late 2013. BMW reports it has had "Several hundred advance orders" for the EV. As you may recall, the i3 uses a special carbon fiber reinforced plastic passenger cell to save weight and boasts a standard range of 93 miles. You can read the full transcripts from the press conference below for more information.
