2005 Bmw 645ci Base Coupe 2-door 4.4l - Silver W/ Tan Leather, Immaculate & Fast on 2040-cars
Lawrenceville, Georgia, United States
I'm selling my 2005 BMW 645ci coupe. The exterior is titanium silver and the interior is tan leather with wood trim. I recently had the car serviced at my local Certified BMW dealership - including a full inspection, engine tune up and new Toyo performance tires (over $2,000). I purchased the car used from a dealer in June 2012 totalling of $30,000 with a 5-year or up to 10,000 miles wareanty. I have had all my maintenance and check-ups performed at my local Certified BMW dealership. I have all the records since the purchase date. My car surprised everybody, including the people at the BMW dealership. They are impressed by how beautifully the vehicle has been kept. They are surprised when I tell them the year of the car. The paint is still very glossy and bright except some small scraches on the rear and front bumpers. The leather inside is nearly perfect, unwrinkled and plush. The car looks amazing and drive perfect. I doubt you'll find a nicer looking 2005 BMW 645ci. Hard top 645 is very rare as well. The reason why I'm selling this car is that I bought it as a fun 2nd car and to drive when my son uses my 1st car, a Toyota Prius. Now that my son is going to college, I don't drive this car as much. I am a middle age woman who drives casually and never speeds. I get all the maintenance that I supposed to. So you can be sure that the car has been babied and runs beautifully. It's also very clean inside and outside. The car was always garage kept, washed and cleaned regularly. In my 2 years of ownership I've added superior quality tires, had everything gone over and updated (3 minor oil leaks, AC belt replacement, computer system replacement, tune up, new battery replaced). I did everything the BMW dealer told me I should to keep the car running perfectly. Kelly Blue Book priced this car at $22,000 - private sale by owner. The dealer price is $25,000. I think my car is worth the $25,000 because of the condition, the maintenance, tune up, transferable warranty and new tires - and because I've had all my work done at the authorized BMW dealerships. this car comes with a warranty you will have to pay $100 in order to transfer. Here's some more information. I want to be straightforward and honest, so you know what you are getting. I've also added lots of photos. Warranty
When I bought the BMW in June 2012, I also bought a 5-year or up to 10,000 miles transferable warranty. I will transfer the warranty to the buyer for $100 (paid to the warranty company). The remainder of the warranty is up to 10,000 miles or 2.5 more years - because at the time of my purchase it was 5 year warranty.
Maintenance History In December 2012, I had a very minor engine oil leaks fixed at the Certified BMW dealership.
In June 2013, I had the computer system serviced/replaced. The screen would not always load up when the car started. after the replacement Now the computer works perfectly.
In June 2013, the BMW dealership performed a full engine tune-up. Both June services cost me $1,800 because the computer was not covered by the warranty
A new battery was installed in November 2013.
In May 2013, 4 new Toyo performance tires were installed, which costs over $2,000.
Unfortunately there are 3 very tiny areas of damage. The driver side mirror was cracked only on the bottom under the mirror and a small silver colored plastic piece was replaced. The rear bumper has some very small paint scuffs. And near the passenger side rear wheel there is a tiny paint scuff, hardly even visible. I showed these in the photos. They are all very small and difficult to notice. For a 2005, this condition is excellent. No touch-up work is needed unless you are perfectionist. I also will include the touch-up paints for the BMW regardless.
If you have any other questions about my car, please message me. This is a remarkable BMW with a lot of power and beauty. I think it will sell fast.
Delivery & Pick Up
I am listing this car for pick up only. We can arrange a time after the auction closes. If you want the car shipped, you (the buyer) must arrange all the details. I have no experience with these things. Any shipping costs are outside this auction (not included in the price) and must be paid by the buyer. I'll do my best to cooperate if you have the car shipped. |

Is Audi getting complacent and suffering from brain drain?
Wed, 27 Nov 2013The argument is made in a Reuters article: Audi is falling behind other luxury brands, such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, due to a lack of research-and-development spending and "brain drain," or the migration of top executives and R&D chiefs to other parts of the Volkswagen Group. Reuters notes that Audi's current R&D chief is the third in 16 months.
Audi, which contributed to 40 percent of VW Group's $11.6 billion in profit the first nine months of the year, is delivering cars at a record pace: 1.31 million were delivered from January to October 2013 versus BMW's 1.35 million. Yet Audi, Reuters reports, doesn't have a halo car akin to BMW's new electrified i3 and i8 or an answer to Mercedes' plug-in-hybrid S-Class, and the R&D spending at Audi is less than BMW and Mercedes by a fair margin. It's noted in the article, however, that Audi benefits from other R&D spending within VW Group.
Reuters mentions that BMW "trumpets its new 'i' series" and the new Mercedes CLA and GLA ranges are winning "rave reviews" as part of its argument that Audi's recent lack of technological innovation could hurt future sales. Those cars do pack tons of new technology, some of which are firsts for mainstream production cars. But last time we checked, the i3 could be causing BMW's stock to slide, the CLA isn't receiving the rave reviews that Reuters would have you believe and the GLA hasn't been reviewed yet.
2016 X6 M brings the power at LA show
Wed, 19 Nov 2014BMW tore the cover off the second generation 2016 X6 M Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
BMW tuned the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 to push out 567 horsepower, up from the last model's 555 hp. Torque also leaps to 553 pound feet, compared with the previous output of 500 lb-ft. The V8 is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which swaps in for the old six-speed. This potent powertrain allows the crossover to hit 60 miles per hour in about four seconds.
The X6, which features slightly more dramatic styling and an angled rear roofline, debuted alongside the more conventionally styled 2016 BMW X5 M at the LA show.
BMW discussing supercar collaboration with McLaren
Mon, Sep 21 2015BMW is reportedly considering a new halo supercar. But rather than go it alone, word has it that the Bavarian automaker is discussing a potential partnership with McLaren to make the idea a reality. This according to Britain's Car magazine, which suggests that negotiations are well underway. The proposal would see the BMW supercar based on the same architecture that will to underpin Woking's P16 project that's set to replace current 650S. Rather than use the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 that McLaren developed together with Ricardo, the Bimmer version would use Munich's own engine: a 4.0-liter V8 with quad turbochargers – two conventional spools and two more electrically driven chargers. Their combined effect would net an expected 750 horsepower. Further differentiations on McLaren's carbon monocoque architecture for use in the BMW would include custom bodywork, aerodynamics, and interior fitments to include a unique instrument panel. Production, however, would be handled at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking, to the tune of several hundred units per year. The project would take the place of several aborted programs undertaken internally at BMW. One called for an entirely unique supercar developed in-house, referred to internally as the M100. When that project was aborted so that BMW could concentrate on the i sub-brand, BMW's own skunkworks shifted its focus to developing a more performance-focused version of the i8, known by some as the i8 CSi. When that project was canned as well, discussions with McLaren commenced. It wouldn't be the first time BMW would outsource development of its own supercar, or even the first time BMW would collaborate with McLaren on such a project. Initial development work on the original M1 in the 1970s was undertaken by Lamborghini before being taken in-house. And, of course, BMW provided the engine for the legendary McLaren F1. Meanwhile McLaren performed a similar function for Mercedes-Benz with the SLR, demonstrating Woking's experience in building flagship supercars for German automakers. This latest project could suffer the same fate as the M100 and i8 CSi programs. But if it is approved, it could yield both coupe and convertible versions, with the first slated to surface at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2017 and reach dealerships in 2019.
