Bmw 525i Black 1990 Only 159,000 Miles Runs And Drives Well No Reserve on 2040-cars
Lebanon, New Jersey, United States
This 525i has been in my family for the last ten years. We have recently replaced the fuel pump and filter, brakes, and tires. First the good points: I just installed a brand new NAPA premium battery with a cost of $145. The car rides and runs well, the brakes are smooth, the motor and exhaust are quite. The car does not smoke at all. It only has 159,000 miles on it. The car gets over twenty miles to the gallon around town, and twenty six miles to the gallon on the highway. There is a computer on the dash that gives you average miles per gallon, outside temp., miles till empty, day, date, time, and trip timer. Power heated seats. The sound system still works well. We just had a rebuilt steering box installed. The car just passed state inspection and has a sticker good to 2/2016.
Now the bad: there is a small crack in the windshield down at the very bottom behind the windshield wiper, The air conditioning fan switch is intermittent, the rear passenger door does not open and the door panel is in poor condition, the door panel on the drivers door is missing a glue on insert. The headliner is a little lose by the rear window. The drivers seat has one split seam, the rest of the seats are nice. The paint is still nice for how old the car is, but there is a small amount of hale damage that does not show up in the pictures. There is some surface rust on some of the edges of the rocker panels. The car can be sean at zip code 08833 or zip code 07104. Please e-mail or call me with any questions before bidding. Joseph @ 908-246-0689 I am a school teacher, so if you call during the day and I do not answer, please leave me a message and I will call you back when I am out of class. Car is sold as is / where is. I will help with delivery after car is paid for. I can deliver the car up to one hundred miles for 50 cents a mile plus the cost of a return train ticket. The only reason that I am selling the car is I just got a Lincoln ls from my sister. On Apr-15-14 at 06:02:59 PDT, seller added the following information: E-BAY will not let me update the vin. number. Somehow it was entered wrong and I would have to restart the listing to change it. The correct vin # is On Apr-17-14 at 06:47:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I just found out that I have to go to ST. Louis with my high school students. I will be leaving on Tuesday the 22ed and I will be returning Sunday the 27th. If we can do the deal before I leave that is fine. If you can not do the deal by Tuesday or do not want to wait until Sunday, Then please do not bid or you can call me at 908-246-0689. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. |

Did Lexus make a BMW? Or did BMW make a Lexus? This and other 2017 surprises
Fri, Dec 29 2017It's that time of year again. The calendar is about to reach its end, Star Trek Cats 2018 is about to take its place, and I'm reflecting about all the cars that graced my driveway this year or summoned me to exotic places. You know, like Stuttgart or Phoenix. In 2017, I drove at least 57, and as I perused the list of them, I started to notice a common refrain: "This car surprised me." Most were pleasant surprises, but there were a few head scratchers and facepalms for good measure. In both cases, it was generally the result of car companies seemingly trying to break out of an existing mold. Nowhere was that more apparent than the pair of Lexuses slathered in Infrared paint: The LS 500 that left me this week and the LC 500 that was my favorite car of 2017. Though Lexus has been trying to shake its crusty, gold-packaged reputation for some time now, its efforts always seemed like an old man choosing Hollister to redo his wardrobe after realizing it hasn't been updated since 1987. I fell in love with the LC, genuinely floored by its near-perfect take on the GT. It's characterful in sound, appearance and tactility. It was at home in the city, in the mountain and on the open road. It was both comfortable and thrilling, and after driving the mechanically related LS 500, I can report that the LC's talents aren't an outlier. The LS 500's turbo V6 may make different noises than the LC's naturally aspirated V8, but it nevertheless invigorates the cabin when the car is placed in Sport+ mode. The steering is truly communicative, body motions are kept in miraculous check, and I absolutely forgot I was in an enormous luxury limo ... and a Lexus one at that. It was everything that the BMW 530e was not. I drove that on the exact same roads and was utterly bored the entire time. Generally doughy, lifeless steering, more distant than Planet 9. And no, the plug-in hybrid powertrain had nothing to do with that. At least it shouldn't. The Porsche Panamera S e-Hybrid I also drove this year proves that, as do the Hyundai Ioniqs, which are surprisingly adept and fun little cars regardless of what powers their wheels (Hyundai + hybrid = fun really blew me away). I would drive that Lexus LS F Sport over the BMW 5 Series any day of the week, which seems like a shocking thing to say in relation to either car. While Lexus is seemingly breaking out of its old crusty mold, BMW seems to be climbing into one.
2015 BMW i8 sets everyone's tongues wagging in Northern Michigan
Fri, 31 Oct 2014Like few other cars we can remember, people want to talk about the 2015 BMW i8. Drive one, and you'll soon find out what we mean. They stop you at gas stations. They accost you in Walgreen's parking lots. They stream out of neighborhood bars, beers in hand.
At least, that was our experience this week during Autoblog's Technology of the Year testing. We had the pleasure of driving the plug-in hybrid BMW sports car up to and around Petoskey, MI, a resort town where seeing such exotics is rare enough, let alone in the off season. It made for some interesting conversations - so we began writing down some of the comments the butterfly-doored coupe inspired. Here's a sampling:
"Wanna race for pinks? I'll go easy on you." - Acne-covered teenage pizza delivery driver in a sad-looking Ford Taurus parked at a Valero gas station near Grayling (which incidentally didn't actually have gas).
BMW 7 Series to get quad-turbo diesel?
Thu, Aug 6 2015Sometime in 2016 BMW will ask its customers, "Would you like more turbos with your turbos?" Reports are the Bavarian company is working on an inline six-cylinder quad-turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel engine to replace the tri-turbo 3.0-liter diesel currently used in performance products like the all-wheel-drive X5 M50d and X6 M50d sold in other markets. The current N57 performance diesel is called the M Performance TwinPower Turbo. The new one, said to be codenamed B57 TOP, will first make its way into the new 7 Series that will be called the M750d. The coming quad-turbo diesel is expected to produce at least 400 hp and 590 lb-ft. It isn't known yet whether the additional turbo will be electric or conventional, nor how the new turbos will be sized relative to one another. At least one outlet figures the power numbers will be conservative for this first outing, so they could go up. After its launch in the 7 Series, it could migrate to create the next-generation G30 5 Series M550d, and the X5 M50d, X6 M50d, and X7 M50d. It's unclear if BMW has plans to bring this high performance engine to the US market. Related Video: The video meant to be presented here is no longer available. Sorry for the inconvenience.
