American car, purchased at a dealer myself and imported by me in December 2012. The warranty is valid in Canada and the USA at any BMW dealer. I am a private seller, so feel free to have the car inspected (I will be happy to take it to the local BMW dealer for inspection).   I will help with shipping to the USA or Canada (I will bring the car to the border (Champlain NY) or to a car delivery company of your choice in the Montreal area.  I still have a scanned copy of the original clear title.  I don't know how to import to the USA, but am willing to help.  As an american car, this should be easy.

All other fees, such as local provincial, state or licensing fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

BMW confirms new Mexican plant

Thu, 03 Jul 2014

After over a year of speculation, BMW is finally officially announcing that it's building a factory in Mexico. The new plant will cost the German automaker roughly $1 billion US and will have a capacity of about 150,000 vehicles a year when complete. However, production won't begin there until 2019.
The new factory is being built near the city of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, with plans to employ about 1,500 people. Unfortunately, BMW is still mum about which models it's producing south of the border. Earlier rumors indicated the possibility of the 3 Series, 1 Series and maybe even Mini models there.
BMW says Mexico's multiple free trade agreements are a major factor in the choice of location of the plant. They make it possible for the automaker to ship models more cheaply to North America, parts of South America and the European Union. "The Americas are among the most important growth markets for the BMW Group. We are continuing our strategy of 'production follows the market,'" said Harald Krueger, the board's head of production, in the company's official announcement.

BMW's iPhone app tells you how to be on time

Fri, Apr 1 2016

BMW is presenting its Connected North America digital mobility service at the Microsoft BUILD conference in San Francisco. The service is referred to as a cross-platform mobility concept, and it is said to be based on a digital infrastructure called the Open Mobility Cloud, itself based on the Microsoft Azure architecture. In layman's terms, it automatically recognizes information related to planned movement and travel, such as destinations and arrival times, and combines this with traffic data. The user's smartphone receives notifications of suggested departure times based on current traffic, and this information can then be transferred to the vehicle's navigation system. Practically, it'll politely inform the driver when they should get going if they plan to make it to their destination in time. Another feature is that frequently visited places are automatically stored in the Open Mobility Cloud. The BMW Connected North America for iOS can be used in BMW vehicles equipped with the optional ConnectedDrive Services add-on. BMW says more markets will follow during 2016. Police arrest 'Fastest Lap Around Manhattan' driver [w/video]

Fri, 06 Sep 2013

Don't speed. Don't drive recklessly. Don't try to break the unofficial record for a lap of Manhattan. And if you go against this reasonable advice, do not, under any circumstances, record it and post the video on YouTube. If you do, you'll end up like Christopher Adam Tang - under arrest and facing a bevy of charges relating to the video.
Tang posted the video, which showed him lapping Manhattan in 24 minutes last Wednesday, and it quickly went viral. Now Tang, who went by the online moniker AfroDuck, is in cuffs. According to a local CBS affiliate, he was picked up at his home on Wednesday evening by police, who also seized the car used in the video, a 2006 BMW Z4.
What isn't clear is how Tang was caught. His video seems carefully done in that there are no outwardly visible signs that point to him, while the video itself is clearly sped up. While the NYPD hasn't come out and said that Tang was caught due to its extensive surveillance systems around the city, police commissioner Ray Kelly did point out that the new systems "will assist in this type of investigation." Let that serve as a warning to anyone that tries to break the 24-minute barrier. Scroll down to watch the full video.
