Up for Sale, 2008 550i BMW, with Factory Certified Pre-Owned Warranty until April 25, 2014 or 100,000 miles. I am the 2nd owner of this luxury performance vehicle and I purchased it from a BMW Dealership (it was previously traded-in). The dealership ran it through the CPO inspection process and applied the 6yr/100k CPO warranty. The car was still under factory warranty when I bought it, so the majority of the miles and care was applied by me. The CPO warranty is due to expire on 4/25/14 or at 100k miles. This car has been my daily commuter to and from work, with easy interstate miles. It has been garage kept and professionally maintained by a local BMW dealership. There are no mechanical problems and it recently had its service inspection performed by the dealership (next due at 76k). This car is equipped with: M Sport Package
Condition The tires, Continental Contact Extremes, were purchased early 2013 and are in great shape with lots of tread left on them. The wheels are in great shape, minor curb rash on a couple. Brake pads were replaced 2013. The interior is extra clean, no stains, tears, or major marks. The plastic surface on the hand grab of the driver door is starting to peel up (see pic). The paint and body are in excellent condition. There are some minor rock chips in the front bumper, consistent with a car of this age and mileage. There are 3 minor, but notable scratches that I tried to show in pictures. All are hardly noticeable and easily fixable, but wanted to point it out. I went to great effort to point out every little issue I could find on this car. This car has been a dream to drive and a very solid driving vehicle. It drives true and smooth with serious performance and power. I am aggressively pricing the car below blue book value. Take advantage of this great deal today. Finalists for 2014 Green Car of the Year announced
Thu, 17 Oct 2013The list of finalists for the 2014 Green Car of the Year has been announced, and in a genuinely bizarre twist, there's only one hybrid and no electric vehicles among the five contestants, despite the arrival of cars like the BMW i3 and Tesla Model S. Taking the place of the EVs are a pair of diesels, repping a technology that last won a Green Car of the Year award in 2009, when the Audi A3 TDI took the title. No diesel was in the running for last year's award.
Naturally, both of the diesel finalists are fielded by the Germans - with BMW's 328d and Audi's A6 TDI getting the nod. In the case of the 3 Series, BMW installed a 2.0-liter, turbodiesel, capable of delivering 180 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, while returning 45 miles per gallon on the highway. Audi and its larger, 3.0-liter, V6 turbodiesel produce quite a bit more grunt, with 240 hp and 428 lb-ft of grunt, but net a very impressive 38 mpg on the highway in the A6.
Finalists for this year's awards include two diesels, three gas-powered cars and a plug-in hybrid.
2014 BMW X5 configurator goes live
Sun, 28 Jul 2013BMW won't begin selling the 2014 X5 for another few months, but the German manufacturer has brought the third-generation SAV's configurator online, allowing interested customers to poke around and look at the X5's optional goodies.
Like the 3 Series, the X5 is available in a number of lines that load up extras automatically. There's also a do-it-yourself truck that allows owners to pick and choose if they're not enamored with the styling or trim of one of the dedicated packages. As usual, the options list is quite vast, regardless of which line is chosen. We were able to easily take the new, rear-drive X5 sDrive35i, which started at $52,800, and bring the total price up past $80,000.
The new X5 carries over its 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 from the current model, as well as BMW's excellent 3.0-liter, turbocharged inline-six. The X5 xDrive35d, with the 3.0-liter turbodiesel will also be available on the third-generation SUV, but won't hit dealers until early 2014. BMW is stepping outside of the X5's usual bounds, offering a dedicated rear-drive model, available with all the same trimmings as the xDrive vehicles.
