Thanks to all for the interest, emails and/or calls.  I've included the answers to a few of the questions for a more informed decision for all.  I've tried to be as descriptive as possible, but please feel free to ask any more questions.  Thanks again for the interest.

-All electrical components seem to be in good working order, with the exception of the passenger side mirror invariably not functioning at a buttons touch.  Possibly a loose fuse, but haven't looked to narrow it down as it always stays in the same position anyhow.
-The hood shocks will likely need to be replaced as they do not keep the hood open very long as when in proper working order.
-My wife bought car from BMW dealership w $45k miles years ago and and has been sole driver since purchase.  Just need a bit more room now to accommodate a car seat, stroller, etc....

For sale is a 2006 BMW 525xi. Vehicle is clean inside and out with exception of rock chips on hood due to majority of miles being highway miles over the years and one scratch (approx 3 in) that was touched up on front passenger door.  Car still look s great, nonetheless!  Has been dealer maintained for better part of cars life, in very good preowned condition and ready for a new owner. Car features are listed below. Thanks for the interest.

Car still look and runs great and original window stickers included!  Car has been dealer maintained at Daniels BMW in PA with exception of 2 oil changes and a radiator replacement (radiator replaced last week w German parts-$800 job).  Car is mechanically sound and all in good working order.  Oil leak from under the valve covers as typical with any 8 yr old BMW, but again...mechanically sound and I would feel confident driving this car anywhere.   Just started a family and now need more room!! All things considered,  the vehicle is being sold 'as is' in everyone's best interest.  Really great deal here...thanks for looking and happy bidding!!!  Feel free to call with any questions,  Jason 504.813.1192

Guess which brand's not on a top 10 list of best EVs (hint: it's Tesla)

Thu, Jun 22 2023

Few surprises lurk in Autotrader’s list of its 10 best electric vehicles of 2023, but there is one that stands out: no Teslas. There's Hyundais and Kias, Porsches and Fords, a BMW and a Nissan. But Β… no Teslas. Although many of us admit to being over-Musked and tired of reading about him, the lack of a Tesla model on a selection of the 10 most desirable current EVs is conspicuous by its absence. Asked about this particular omission, we received this rather vague response from Autotrader spokesperson Brenna Buehler at Cox Automotive: Β“Tesla models were included in consideration but didnΒ’t get sufficiently high scores by the Editorial team to qualify for the top 10.Β” At least some Tesla offerings appeared to meet all the requirements set by the website. The manufacturers must offer 2023 model year vehicles, and they have to be sold in at least 15 states. Check. Only pure EVs were allowed on the list; there are no hybrids, plug-in hybrids or hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. Check. The base manufacturer's suggested retail price must be less than $100,000. Check. Let the debates begin. Moving on, it should be noted that two Genesis models, a G80 sedan and GV 60 SUV, are listed, along with a Lucid Air midsize sedan, the Rivian R1T pickup, and the Porsche Taycan. Here is the full list, with the remarks and comments from Autotrader's raters. (And we've included links to Autoblog's own reviews for a deeper dive). The EVs are listed in alphabetical order by brand, so don't read anything into the order of presentation: 2023 BMW i4 BMW reboots its EV approach and comes up with a winner:Β Whatever you thought of BMW's first run at EV, the i3, it was missing a certain something Β– it didn't look or perform like a BMW. The 2023 BMW i4 corrects course with a Gran Coupe that our editors agree looks and drives like a BMW. 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Ford's electric pickup gathers steam in its second year: The F-150 Lightning somehow synthesized decades of pickup truck knowledge with the latest and greatest EV technology and infused thoughtful details and user-friendly features. 2023 Genesis Electrified G80South Korea's luxury brand shows how to elevate the executive EV sedan without breaking the bank: Genesis, Hyundai's luxury offshoot, rethought the gasoline-powered luxury sedan, the G80, and developed the 2023 Genesis Electrified G80. Precisely as the name hints, the Electrified G80 replaces the G80's engine with an all-wheel-drive EV powertrain.

Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with

Mon, 12 May 2014

Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.

BMW 1 Series sedan prepares to fight Mercedes CLA, Audi A3

Thu, 04 Sep 2014

The entry-level premium sedan segment is pretty hot right now, with the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class doing well for their respective automakers here in the US. Of course, BMW has its 2 Series, but that's currently only available as a coupe, with a convertible bodystyle forthcoming. That all looks to change, however, as our spies recently caught BMW testing a four-door 1 Series sedan that seems to have the A3 and CLA clear in its sight.
BMW's entry-level four-door is expected to ride on the same front-wheel-drive UKL platform that we recently spied in Mini Countryman form. We're pretty sure this thing will launch under the 1 Series line (odds for sedans and wagons, evens for coupes and convertibles), but it's anyone's guess with BMW - after all, the five-door, front-drive Active Tourer wears a 2 Series nameplate.
Look for the 1 Series sedan to launch sometime in 2016 as a 2017 model. Better late than never in the entry-lux segment, we suppose.
