2000 Alpine White Bmw E39 528i Sport Package | 2 Owners | Tastefully Modified on 2040-cars
Plano, Texas, United States
I'm the 2nd owner and have had this car for over 7 years. It has been completely babied, full synthetic oil, Shell V-Power gas and 100% garaged at home since day one and garaged at work for the last year. It has never been in an accident and has a clean title. Feel free to CARFAX it.
It's been solid since I've had it, no weird noise or rattling. The mileage is mostly highway as I've always had a long commute to work. I've spent a lot of money over the years to keep up with maintenance and upgrades, so it's very well kept, lots of compliments and "thumbs up" all the time! It handles beautifully, engine and transmission performs like new! As most of you may know, this is one of the finest sedans ever built! I'm just selling it along with another BMW of mine to get an M5. The list of things I've done are extensive but here are a few things that come to mind (upgrades & features): - Complete paint job in 2012 due to hail (hood was replaced), factory Alpine WHITE and Jet BLACK roof. It has 3 coats of Euro-clear clear coat with a minimal life expectancy of 10+ years. - M-Tech front and rear bumpers - Rear ///M style trunk lip spoiler - Imitation headlight nozzles =) - Matte black front hood kidney grills - New front windshield rubber weather strip/gasket - 18" STR (BBS LM Reps) gold mesh wheels, 18x9 rear and 18x8 front with matching front and rear pair of tires with 8/32nd tread life left ($1000) - 20mm front wheel spacers and 12mm rear spacers (perfect stance) - Full Bilstein shocks/struts on all corners ($900) - H&R sport springs with 1.8" drop all around ($250) - New tie rods, front upper control arms, bushings, rear control arms, sway bar links, strut mounts - New brake master cylinder ($420) - Under manifold heater core plastic pipes replaced within the last 2 years - Updated headlights, OEM with HID 10K bulbs (auto-leveling adjusters are new!!!) - Updated clear & red tail lights - Clear side markers on fenders - Yellow filmed fog lights - Professional 35% charcoal Tint with life-time warranty - 12" Kenwood Subwoofer in custom built trunk box specifically for e39 - 800 Watt amplifier with remote under-dash power/volume control - OEM ///M sport seats, sport steering wheel, step-tronic shifting - Keyless entry and OEM factory alarm system with proximity sensor - OEM shadowline window trimming and body moulding - Updated LED angel eye bulbs - Carbon fiber front splitters ($450!) - Updated OEM gloss interior trimming (I hated the ugly wood trimming) - Full 16" sized spare with Michelin tire in excellent condition - OEM factory trunk tools, jack and tire choke - Upgraded Duralast battery - Super cold AC and very hot heater - Dual zone and automatic temperature controls - De-badged OEM 528i emblem and replaced with "E39" black chrome trunk emblem - Real Carbon fiber ///M sport shift knob (needs to be tightened) - ///M sport tan floor mats - Replaced rear door panel vapor barriers (fixed the common e39 water leak problem) - LED error-free license plate lights - ALL dash pixels are working!!! I've never had to fix it - Custom mount bolted directly to the back of the rearview mirror for Valentine V1 radar - Excellent alignment (warranty might me transferrable) - Aluminum front brake ducts in lower grill (functional too - leads to brake discs!) - Cross drilled rotors on all 4 corners - EBC red front brake pads - New OEM oil pan gasket - New OEM oil filter housing gasket - New OEM fuel filter - I use Mobil-1 full synthetic oil, 5W30 and high Octane fuel on every refill (99% of the time it's from SHELL, V-Power) - No major leaks on the garage floor!!! - I still get about 22-24 MPG with this car - 2 OEM BMW keys with remote door, trunk and panic button (you can also use for automatic window & sunroof opening!!!) - Large stack of paperwork and records - CLEAN BLUE TITLE under my name and address ***I'm asking for $7800 cash - NO TRADES, NO PAYMENTS - I am not a dealer ***Call or Text me at 972-897-3094 for an appointment to view & test drive. I'm hoping to sell it to a true e39 lover and BMW enthusiast that will continue to take care of it so it can be pampered. =) |

BMW recalls diesel X5 models over fuel filter heater
Mon, 19 Aug 2013
BMW has announced that it is recalling 1,540 examples of its 2009 and 2010 X5 xDrive35d crossovers produced between June 13, 2009 and November 9, 2009.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the model's fuel filter heater, which warms up the diesel fuel at low outside temperatures, can experience an electrical overload condition that may cause it to become permanently activated. This means the fuel filter heater could remain activated even when the ignition is off, which could lead to a dead battery. It could also lead to overheating, possibly resulting in a fire.
BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe blows the doors back on [w/video]
Tue, 04 Mar 2014BMW sure seems to take pleasure in confusing the hell out of us. It used to be pretty simple: if you wanted a compact Bimmer, you had to look no further than the 3 Series. Then it was just a matter of which bodystyle you wanted. But the smaller end of BMW's lineup has gotten more complicated lately. Never mind the 1 Series and 2 Series (in their various iterations) that have slotted in below it - now the 3 Series has been split in two: Want a four-door, get the new 3 Series. Want a two-door, the 4 Series is your address. Right?
Almost. Because now there's a 4 Series Gran Coupe that keeps the two-door's roofline (or some approximation of it) but adds an extra set of doors in the back, thereby bridging the gap between the 3 Series sedan and 4 Series coupe. And it's just made its public debut here at the Geneva Motor Show.
The difference between this and the two-door 4 Series is plain to see: it's got two extra doors. But what's the difference between this and the 3 Series sedan? About two or three grand, to start with - depending on which version (428i Gran Coupe or 435i Gran Coupe) you choose. But it's also sleeker, more muscular and altogether that extra bit sexier. Which is a good trait, as you can see from our gallery of live shots above, to have in your European sports sedan, coupe, or whatever you want to call it.
BMW X4 hatches its fastback shape in Shanghai
Fri, 19 Apr 2013The day has finally come for BMW to pull the covers off its X4 Concept at the Shanghai Motor Show. The machine brings few surprises - we've already seen an official image gallery from the German automaker, so its exterior shape was well known - but at least now we get to see it with our own eyes, and with the lenses of our very own cameras.
You can clearly see the fastback roofline in our high-res image gallery above, along with the jacked-up stance that allows BMW to call this machine a Sports Activity Vehicle, which basically means "Crossover" to our friends in Munich. We've seen similar vehicle shapes before, most notably in the form of the BMW X6, but also as far back as the 1980s from the likes of AMC.
We fully expect the transition from concept to production to be pretty seamless, so what we see here is, for the most part, what we'll see on the showroom floor in 2014. Feel free to peruse the press release below, but first, be sure to browse through our live images from Shanghai and let us know what you think.
