You are looking at a 1997 BMW 528i with 216,959 original miles on the engine and transmition. Both the engine and transmition run perfectly. The engine does NOT skip, tap, or make funny noises. It does however use some oil and there is a slight anti-freeze leak from one of the small hoses ( easy fix!). Also there is some residual oil around the front of the engine but nothing major. the engine runs very strong and has a lot of pepp. Fun to drive!!!   The transmition works great, no slippage, no vibrations. It is a 5 speed manuel.    I am the second owener and I bought it off a lease when it had 44,000 miles on it. It  has always been a great car.    It drives very good, nice and strait, no pulling to one side, no funny hyway noises or vibrations when driving.   It has very good tires on it with aprox 70% of tread left on them. Plus Im selling it with a set of four all season/snow tires with more that 80% of tread left on them.  It is fully loaded with,  power everything,  sunroof,  dual climate controll,  power seats,  heated seats,  ect.   All amienaties  are working perfectly.  The  sunroof and doors all close and seal as the should and do not leak.  All of the windows are crack free and open and close as they should.   As you can see from the pixs it does have some dents and scratches in some places, so look closely at the photos. The  two rust spots that you see on the passenger side ground effects is mostly surface rust and is NOT deep into the sheet metal.   This does have the spare tire and jack and tire tool, ect.  All in all, this is still a solid car with many miles left left on it.  So, look closely and read carefully before you bid on this car. If you bid and win but refuse to pay, I WILL PURSUE THE MATTER WITH EBAY AND GIVE YOU A BAD RATING AND BLOCK YOU FROM BIDDING IN THE FUTURE!!!!!

Mercedes and VW battling Uber and Apple to spend billions on Nokia mapping division

Tue, May 12 2015

Whether for autonomous driving or simply better navigation, digital mapping is closely linked with the future of motoring. The sale of a major player in that industry is spurring a showdown between automotive behemoths and tech giants, and it's a fascinating battle to watch unfold. Nokia is selling its Here mapping division, and while the company might not have the name recognition of Google, it controls about 70 percent of the auto market. The business is valued at $785 million, according to Reuters, but is likely to sell for significantly more. Case in point: Uber reportedly submitted a $3 billion bid. Apple has also been rumored to be among those interested in purchasing Here. A trio of German automotive heavyweights is mounting a challenge to Silicon Valley, though. According to Reuters speaking to two unnamed insiders, Daimler, BMW, and Audi are teaming up to submit a joint bid for an undisclosed sum. They're worried that if Here falls under the control of tech companies, then automakers might have limited availability to these vital maps in the future. Nokia bought Here for $8.1 billion in 2007, according to Reuters. The company operates a fleet of vehicles with cameras and LIDAR that drive around the world to create high-definition maps. It also generates even more information by using the GPS data from shipping and trucking companies.

BMW pondering hardcore M4 to celebrate 100 years?

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

2013 is the year for Lamborghini, Aston Martin and the Porsche 911, but 2016 will be the year for BMW. That's when the Munich-based maker of the Ultimate Driving Machine will celebrate its 100th birthday, with what will probably be a year-long celebration. Part of that 365-day party will, reportedly, be an even hotter version of the new BMW M4, which is set to debut in January at the Detroit Auto Show.
Yes, according to Australia's Car Sales, the über-M4 has been hinted at by higher-ups at BMW's M division, who claim the rear seats will be removed, much like the M3 GTS, while other weight-saving measures will be used to try and bring the M4's weight below 3,000 pounds. There's no mention of engine mods, but if the M4's biturbocharged six is as good as we think it'll be, that's not a deal-breaker for us.
The lightening process on the so-called M4 GTS would involve replacing the hood and front fenders with parts made of carbon fiber, while the doors would switch from steel to aluminum. Besides the deletion of the rear seats, Car Sales is predicting lightweight racing buckets, with a carbon-fiber shell and a minimal amount of padding. Expect lots and lots of Alcantara, in place of leather.
