One of the best cars I have had the pleasure of owning.  Truly a STOCK, UNMOLESTED example of a near perfect E34 5-Speed V8.  I will give a very detailed and honest description so read on!

Before I go further, I would like to share a bit of my opinion about serviced and maintained high mileage cars.  If you are looking at this ad, then you are in the market for a E34.  When weighing your options about a low mileage higher priced car and one such as mine that has higher, cared for mileage, please consider this.  This car has had EVERY required service, almost everything has been replaced/serviced and is all DOCUMENTED.  Lower mileage cars have alot of expensive maintenance creeping up, alot of things that will soon go wrong that have not been repaired.  Why not buy a car that has been literally revamped?

There are no mechanical issues with this car.   I have service records for the last 14 years of ownership!  Every oilchange has been documented, always Mobil One Syntetic Oil, always Premium 93 Octane fuel.  Recent service includes new suspension, billsteins, control arms and trailing arms.  The previous owner was a BMW shop owner and no expense was spared in maintaining this sedan.  The best tires for the car are on it, Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S and they have 80% threadwear left.

All electricals work, new window motors, regulators and clips.  New seat motors and cables.  Ice cold Dual AC system!  Factory speakers replaced and the stock stereo sounds great!  Heated seats on both sides work flawlessly.  No missing pixels on the dash, no warning lights, no issues.

As you can see from the pics, the interior is like new, no ripped or torn Seats, armrests are near perfect, carpets are like new, no soggy headliner, everything is intact!  I have not seen a nicer interior on this era E34 in a very long time

Mechanically 100%.  I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. You get a constant 23mph on the highway, engine is sound and powerful, the manual transmission shifts smoothly. No funny noises oil leaks or suprises. Just a really well maintained Ultimate Driving Machine!  Always passes NJ MV State Inspections.

Please feel free to contact me @ 201 233 4938  if you have any further questions or would like to schedule a test drive.  If the winner of this auction would like to fly in to NJ and drive the car home, the nearest airport is Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).  If you wish to have the car shipped I will work with your shippers to ensure a smooth pick-up and delivery.

All manuals, books, documents, service records, ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER, 3 Sets of Factory BMW keys including the valet key are all included in the sale.  I do not believe an E34 with this much service history, maintenance and care has ever been offered here on Ebay or anywhere else.  A recent financial setback is forcing this sale or I would keep this BMW forever, it needs nothing but a new home!  Please note that the mileage will increase as I will continue to drive my BMW until it sells.

Thank you for looking at my car and good luck with your offers!

BMW unveils 2016 X5 M and X6 M super CUVs

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

The second-generation BMW X5 M and X6 M have officially made their arrival for the speed-obsessed, crossover-loving masses that aren't willing to turn to Mercedes-AMG or Land Rover Special Operations.
While the new models retain their 4.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8s, power has increased from 555 horsepower to 567 ponies. Torque is up more significantly, climbing from 500 pound-feet to 553 pound-feet. The extra twist is slightly less accessible, with peak grunt arriving between 2,200 and 5,000 rpm, rather than the earlier model's 1,500 to 5,650. Still, we'll take the ten percent increase in torque as a net win.
The big powertrain switch sees the old X5/6 M's six-speed automatic replaced with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission from BMW M. This new gearbox feeds power to an xDrive all-wheel-drive system that can variably shuffle up to 100 percent of power to either axle. In conjunction with the force-induced thumper under the hood, this powertrain arrangement allows both M models to hit 60 miles per hour in just four seconds. That's a mightily impressive stat in a 5,000-plus-pound vehicle.

Wagons make a bit of a comeback, with new models, sales on the rise

Thu, Jan 10 2019

Consider this an official invitation to hop on the wagon bandwagon. There's still tons of room because, well, it's a wagon (and market share is still extremely small). But according to new data, the segment is growing. According to a report from Bloomberg, using data from Edmunds.com, roughly 211,600 Americans purchased wagons in 2018. That is technically down from the 237,600 sold in 2017, but wagon sales in the U.S. are up 29 percent from where they were five years ago. It's also the third year in a row that wagon sales broke the 200,000 mark. The sales trends have been somewhat representative of the availability of wagons. New models have debuted during the past 5 years and therefore offer more opportunity at more brands to buy wagons. In addition to more modest cars such as the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen, several luxury and performance brands are offering wagons today, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Volvo and Buick. (Bloomberg's headlines make the point that "crossovers are for the Kardashians," and wagons are just, well, classier.) This uptick in brand-name availability, as well as extremely well-executed design on most of the wagons currently available, has helped increase the segment's desirability. That, and its ability to better accomplish the same tasks at hand while standing out from the crossover and SUV crowd. Still, the posted numbers represent a small fraction of the total vehicles sold. According to the data, wagons only held a 1.4 percent market share in 2017, the segment's best recent year. Wagons hold a steadfast place in America's past, and they're writing an interesting new story. With the downturn in traditional cars, they may continue to create an unexpected narrative. Electric living with a BMW i3

Fri, Sep 25 2015

Rarely in the 27-plus years I've been testing and writing about cars has any vehicle changed this much from my initial impression until I was later able to spend more time in one. Nearly two years ago, I got a brief test drive of the then-new BMW i3 EV on a selection of both flat and hilly, curvy roads west of Los Angeles the day before LA Auto Show press days. My impressions at the time were mixed: polarizing exterior and interior designs but roomy, easily accessible rear cabin; great twisty road handling but somewhat brittle rough-road ride; good performance but annoyingly strong (always on) regenerative braking. And there was no opportunity to test one with the optional range-extender (which BMW calls a "REx") engine. So I wanted an extended experience in a REx-equipped i3, and recently got one. And, I'm here to report that, driving it for a week like I owned it, the quirky i3 soon won me over. The quirky i3 soon won me over. The $42,400 BMW EV's unique, lightweight "LifeDrive" architecture features a Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) passenger cell on an all-aluminum chassis. Powered by a 22-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, its 170-hp AC synchronous motor spins out a healthy 184-pound-feet of torque through a single-speed transmission and offers three drive modes: Comfort, Eco Pro (which BMW says adds roughly 12 percent of range) and Eco Pro+ (another 12 percent). The optional rear-mounted 647 cc (0.65-liter) in-line 2-cylinder REx engine drives an electric generator, never the wheels. It increases the sticker price to $46,250 and curb weight from 2,860 pounds to 3,130 lb., and that 270-lb. weight penalty reduces its electric-only range from 81 to 72 miles and EPA-rated combined (gas-equivalent) fuel economy from 124 to 117 MPGe, and slows its 0-60-mph acceleration from 7.0 to 7.8 sec. But it nearly doubles the i3's official EPA-rated total range from an EV-only 81 miles to an EV-plus-gasoline 150 miles. The i3 arrived (from roughly 90 miles away) with its battery depleted but an indicated 75 miles of gas-powered range remaining. Wanting to experience it REx-only at first, I drove it on a 9.6-mile local trip and found little difference in sound or performance from what I recalled from that California battery-only test drive. When I returned home, however, the indicated gas range was just 55 miles, so I had used 20 miles of projected range in less than 10 local miles. My initial impressions were good, with a few quibbles.
