Hello:
I am selling the world famous IForged Racing 540i Widebody show car ! It is well known in the BMW community and has been featured in over 10 International magazines. It was voted the best five series car by Performance BMW magazine in their OCT 2011 issue. It was built by Steven Lin at IForged Racing for the show circuit, won Hot Import Nites 2006 best paint award, was in various shows including the SEMA show. Have photos and articles to verify all of this. Car is absolutely like new both cosmetically and mechanically. Extended warranty until July 2014. Has over $ 115 K into it, was built by the best in the industry to feature their wares. It is best to type in "Steven Lin BMW 540 widebody" on Google, you will find very detailed articles with photos and long list of specs. Car was in professional indoor storage and I have owned it since July 2010. Have just recently invested over $ 3500 with receipts for engine reseal, spark plugs, synthetic oil, hoses, valve cover gaskets, manifold gasket etc. Mechanically this 540 is perfect, needs nothing, perfect engine compression, ready to go for years plus has extended warranty to cover the powertrain until July 2014. Cosmetically the paint and body are like new, Interior is Immaculate. I am very picky and this car is as nice as a brand new 2013 model. Here is a run down of the specs. This 1999 540i started out with with all steel widebody fabricated by M1 autobody, wider than the Hamann Widebody car, M1 also applied the BASF candy Fuscia paint ( over $20K with bodywork), VF Engineering Supercharger kit ($ 5500), 6 speed manual spec stage 3 clutch,UUC short shifter kit, clutch delay valve, FK Konigsport adjustable coilovers, Rotora 8 piston front and Rotora 4 piston rear brake kit ($ 7K), IForged Daytona and Imola wheelset, 20x9.5 front and 20x11 rear with like new Yokohama Advan sport tires, 255/30-20, 305/25-20. Hamann front spoiler and sideskirts. Magna flow custom exhaust, G Power rear bumper (only one in US), carbon front grill, carbon M3 side vents, custom molded carbon CSL style trunk spoiler, MA Shaw carbon hood, Hagus sport mirrors, AC Schnitzer pedals and handle, Z8 engine start button, HIDs,Active Autoworks brake cooling ducts, Kreative Custom black leather/fuscia suede interior ($ 10K), Alpine/MB Quart/Rockford Fosgate/Vivo audio visual system, all professional built and installed, has 5 screens, DVD, multi CD player. I cannot stress enough the condition of this car. My certified BMW master mechanic can verify the condition and work done to it. Draws attention everywhere it goes. Has about 6K miles since complete customization for IForged was completed. Buying essentially a new car with warranty, aftermarket parts alone were over $ 75K wholesale to IForged. This is a once in a lifetime chance at the "Ultimate 5". Thanks

Creative minds build lightweight Lambos and Bugattis with cardboard and pedals
Fri, May 1 2020As manufacturers continue their quests to reduce the weight of their vehicles, they switch out heavy steel for lighter materials such as aluminum, carbon fiber, titanium, and sometimes even magnesium. But they've been ignoring a cheap alternative that is widely available: cardboard. Leave it to two visionaries from Vietnam to crack the code and build supercars and superbikes out of the versatile paper product. Vietnamese YouTube channel NHET TV, via CarScoops, might only have a year under its belt, but in that short amount of time, it has amassed more than 350,000 subscribers. What initially started out as a random collection of harmless pranks, trolls, and makeshift time-killers has blossomed into an entertaining channel of ultra-low-budget car and motorcycle builds. The first video posted is a paper plane competition, but the second video shows the first appearance of a vehicle, a Ducati Panigale made out of cardboard and a bicycle. This isn't like Paper Mario with a two-dimensional silhouette, it's a close-enough three-dimensional replica. That project was admittedly pretty rough, but the work has only improved as the channel has matured. Throughout the past year, NHET TV has stuck with high-performance transportation for inspiration. They've built projects that mimic a Lamborghini Sian, a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, a Ferrari LaFerrari FXX K, a Bugatti Chiron, a BMW S 1000 RR, and a Yamaha YZF-R6, among others. Some of the builds, such as the Bugatti, go beyond the typical cardboard-body-on-bicycle-frame. As seen in the video below, the NHET TV built a tubular frame for the car using spare bike parts that they welded together. The Bug even has a custom steering column and steering wheel, though the high-quality model continues to use bike chains and pedals for power. The SVJ might be the most advanced vehicle, as it has a real engine for power and has custom reverse gearing. These guys are creating fun out of the limited resources they do have, and that's what right now is all about. Enjoy the videos below and watch more on the full NHET TV channel.
BMW M6 amped up for track duty by Risden
Sat, 22 Dec 2012Risden Engineering is a bit of an unknown, if we're being completely honest - we have yet to report on the company to date, and its corporate website is really an information desert save for the name and a few email addresses. Even the press release that we requested from Risden's contact person is short and vague. That's all pretty much okay with us as long as the shadowy tuners, you know, make good on this sweet-looking BMW M6 racecar thing.
Dubbed the Risden 6R, we're told that the M6 modification will result in a vehicle that is more adept at track work, while still being street-legal. In terms of specifics, we read that a full aero kit will be involved, with one fixed and one retractable rear wing (hard to miss). There are obviously new wheels, and the company has also added a fully adjustable suspension, a four-point roll bar and a new braking system - all while reducing curb weight overall.
Apparently more details are to follow after the 6R's official release in the first quarter of 2013. We wait with bated breath.
Are you a BMW M4 GTS track car in disguise?
Wed, 10 Sep 2014BMW is always happy to extract a little bit more gumption out of its M cars, just look at the latest 30th anniversary M5 or even the earlier CSL variants of the M3 for proof. Now, It looks like we might be getting the first glimpse of an even hotter M4, and it's wearing very interesting livery.
Our spies recently shot this M4 that could preview a future GTS version. It's all done up in MotoGP decals, but that might just be a ruse. This car sports a camouflaged lower air dam and rear wing, but those parts don't appear to be from an actual series safety car. The chin spoiler seems larger, and the rear wing is completely different. You can also spot an obvious Recaro logo on the driver's seat in one of the photos. Plus, the BMW emblem is removed at the back.
The disguised changes and odd choice of decals make this prototype incredibly weird. A BMW exec said at the beginning of the year that there were "no plans whatsoever to make a lighter, harder version just yet," of the M3 or M4, despite earlier rumors to the contrary. Check out the gallery to see what you think this is.
