Bmw 1998 525i 6 Cyl. Leather Sun Roof Good Project Car. Clear Calif. Title on 2040-cars
Huntington Beach, California, United States
1998 BMW GREAT CAR TO FIX UP OR CUSTOMIZE IN TO A TUNER! THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD, STARTS / STOPS WELL; BUT WILL NEED TIRES AND PAINT. THE CALIFORNIA SUN HAS TAKEN ITS TOLL ON THE CLEAR COAT, THE CAR DOES HAVE SOME DINGS AND A COUPLE DENTS (ALL FROM THE 1st OWNER.) WE BOUGHT THECAR THROUGH THE BMW SERVICE TECH , THAT MAINTAINS MY WIFE'S CAR. MY SON EXPRESSED INTEREST IN OLDER MODEL BMWS AND THOUGHT HE COULD GET IT FIXED UP BEFORE HE MOVED AWAY FOR COLLEGE. UNFORTUNATELY, HE WAS UNSUCCESSFUL, SO NOW THE CAR SITS. IT RUNS AND DRIVES FINE, BUT HAS ALWAYS HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE DRIVER'S DOOR WINDOW AND THE POWER LOCKS. IF YOU LOCK THE CAR, THEN IT WON`T START (SOMETIMES.) WE GOT AROUND THIS BY PLAYING WITH THE LOCKS. THE CAR WILL START AND DRIVE OVER AND OVER AS LONG AS YOU DON'T LOCK IT. THE LAST TIME IT LOCKED, WE HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY OVERNIGHT, AND RE-CONNECT IT, BUT IT WORKS AGAIN. MY SON PULLED OFF THE DRIVER DOOR PANEL AND YOU CAN SEE WHAT APPERS TO BE TWO SMALL SWITCHES. SADLY, HE'S NOT A BMW TECHNICIAN. SO HE DECIDED TO LEAVE IT FOR ANOTHER DAY AND HAS SINCE MOVED OUT. LUCKILY HIS NEW SCHOOL IS MOSTLY BICYCLES, SO HE NO LONGER HAS A NEED FOR THE CAR. DURING HIS ATTEMPT TO SOLVE THE LOCKING ISSUE, HE BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND A NEW KEY FROM THE BMW DEALER (KEY HAD NEW ELECTRONIC CHIP AND LASER CUT.) HE WOULD LIKE TO SELL THIS CAR "AS-IS" SINCE WE ARE MAKING NO CLAIM THAT IT WONT LEAVE YOU, IF YOU LOCK IT UP, AND TRY TO START. BUT WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT AROUND HERE. SO FAR SO GOOD. BUT AS MY SON WANTED THIS CAR AS A SCHOOL CAR, HE NEED IT TO LOCK UP. AND THAT`S WHERE HE LAST LEFT IT . HE IS SELLING AT A LOSS. CAR CAN BE DRIVEN OFF , AT YOUR OWN RISK, NEED TO PUT ALL THIS IN, SO EVERYONE KNOWS IT HAS LOCKING/STARTING ISSUES. IF YOU DRIVE , AND DON`T LOCK IT, WE HAVE HAD GOOD LUCK SO FAR LEAVING IT THIS WAY, BUT MUST SELL AS-IS", WHERE IS", CAR WILL LEAVE WHEN MONEY HAS BEEN CLEARED, SO CASH OR WIRE TRASFER ONLY, A $200.00 GOOD FAITH DEPOSIT MUST BE PAYPALED RIGHT AFTER "CLICKING THE BUY IT NOW" THE BALANCE IN 5 DAYS, CAR CAN SIT HERE FOR 3 WEEKS IF YOU NEED TO ARRNAGE A TRASPORT. BMW 3 Series set for mild facelift
Fri, 28 Mar 2014The latest BMW 3 Series is pretty new, right? Well it's been on the market for the better part of three years now. And on a typical six-year production cycle, that means it's halfway through its life. It only makes sense, then, that BMW should be preparing a little mid-life facelift, and that's just what we appear to be looking at in these latest spy shots.
The changes will likely be minimal when the revised 3 Series debuts sometime in the middle of next year, with the visual changes to the exterior centering around a new front bumper. New lighting front and rear may also be part of the package, and you can also expect some updates to the interior while those Bavarian engineers are at it. Take a closer look in the gallery of high-res spy shots above for an idea of what to expect.
BMW M3 driving off cliff is a chilling PSA
Mon, 10 Jun 2013We're a little shocked that the unnamed owner of this cliff-diving E46 BMW M3 would upload the in-car footage of his accident to YouTube. Not only that, he uploaded two videos: raw footage of his roll down the cliff (it looks like somewhere in the Southwest, maybe Arizona) and a tribute video for his BMW that suffered the most severe consequences of understeer. Not only does uploading the videos leave him wide open for judgment by fellow enthusiasts (just read the YouTube comments), but we imagine if the police and his insurance company somehow don't know about the incident already, they will shortly. Scroll below to view for yourself.
The raw footage shows the sort of driving that led to the M3's violent tumble, and it serves as a good public service announcement reminder for everyone out there: Just like the Spengler's streams, double yellow lines aren't meant to be crossed. Also, hard driving is one thing, but hammering on public roads at speeds clearly above your skill levels as a driver is not only a recipe for legal trouble, it's a script for ruining your car at the very least, if not your life.
BMW eyes Z4 replacement before 2020
Tue, Mar 10 2015As BMW has been busy building four-door versions of two-door versions of four-door cars, less useful crossovers and front-drive minivans, you could be forgiven for thinking it had given up on its aging Z4 roadster. But that, we're pleased to report, isn't the case. According to Automotive News, BMW is hoping to release the next-generation Z4 (if that's what it ends up being called) before the close of this decade. The news outlet spoke to the company's chief engineer, Klaus Frohlich, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, who indicated that BMW may split costs on the new car with Toyota, as part of the partnership between the two automakers. This partnership is integral to the next-gen Z4, largely because of the declining importance of the roadster segment, Herr Frohlich indicated. "If you look at the volume... we have to realize that these segments are shrinking," Frohlich told AN. According to the publication, sales of the Z4, which hit the market in its current form back in 2009, dropped 11 percent in Europe and 13 percent in North America. The car also is less attractive to customers in China for a number of reasons. "[Chinese customers] are not interested in roadsters," Frohlich explained. That's because privacy is a high priority for drivers in China, AN said. On top of that, open-roof cars expose their customers to China's notorious air pollution, which drivers are understandably keen to avoid. Related Video:
