I HAVE UP FOR AUCTION A 2004 BMW 545I (SPORT/COLD WEATHER PACKAGES) WITH THE 4.4L DOHC ENGINE WITH APPROXIMATELY 330HP AND AUTOMATIC STEPTRONIC TRANSMISSION. IT COMES WITH 1 KEY, OWNERS MANUAL AND THE FIRST AID KIT IN THE TRUNK. THERE IS A CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE IN MY NAME WITH NO LIENS, READY TO TRANSFER. IT HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED. IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 192,171 MILES ON IT AS OF 5/27/13, BUT THE MILEAGE WILL GO UP SLIGHTLY AS I DO DRIVE THIS OCCASIONALLY. THAT BEING SAID, IT IS AN ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL CAR THAT I HAVE PERSONALLY OWNED FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND THE ONLY WORK I HAVE HAD TO PUT INTO THE CAR ASIDE FROM OIL CHANGES IS A SET OF TIRES, BRAKES, AND A RADIATOR HOSE. PRETTY MUCH NORMAL MAINTENANCE. THE ONLY ISSUE IT GIVES ME IS AN OCCASIONAL "TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION" MESSAGE ON THE IDRIVE SCREEN AND THEN IT WILL KICK ME INTO THIRD GEAR SAFE MODE. YOU TURN THE CAR OFF, RESTART IT AND IT GOES AWAY AND MAY OR MAY NOT COME BACK, IT SEEMS TO REGISTER THE FAULT LESS IN MANUAL SHIFT MODE. IT'S VERY TEMPERMENTAL, SOMETIMES YOU CAN DRIVE FOR A WEEK WITHOUT SEEING THE MESSAGE, SOMETIMES ONLY TEN MINUTES OR LESS. IT IS FOR THIS REASON THAT I AM LISTING IT AS NEEDING WORK AND MORE IMPORTANTLY SELLS AS IS AND OBVIOUSLY I WOULD RECOMMEND IT BE TOWED TO ITS FINAL DESTINATION. IT HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT ITS LIFE NOT ONLY BY ME BUT THE PREVIOUS OWNERS AS WELL, AND DESPITE THE FACT IT HAS 192,000 MILES I GET COMPLIMENTS ALL THE TIME ON HOW NICE AND NEW IT LOOKS. THERE ARE BARELY ANY DENTS OR SCRATCHES ON IT AND THOSE THAT ARE THERE ARE BARELY NOTICIBLE. IF YOU ARE LOCAL I ENCOURAGE YOU TO COME OUT AND TAKE A LOOK AT THIS CAR IN PERSON AND TAKE A TEST DRIVE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF HOW NICE OF A CAR THIS IS, AND PLEASE DON'T GET ME WRONG, I'M NOT SELLING THIS BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE IT, I ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS CAR WITH MY FIRST TEST DRIVE - ITS INCREDIBLY FAST, LUXURIOUS, COMFORTABLE, FUN AND FLASHY, AND ITS FOR THIS REASON THAT AFTER I SELL THIS I PLAN ON UPGRADING TO A NEWER 550I, BUT NEED THIS GONE FOR A DOWNPAYMENT.

BMW's new i DC Fast Charger will give free juice to i3 drivers
Tue, Jul 29 2014From solar chargeports to the first SAE Combo Fast Charger, BMW is offering or promoting more charging options for the i3 than most people will know what to do with. This is not a bad thing. At the Plug-In 2014 conference happening in San Jose, CA this week, BMW announced a new i DC Fast Charging unit as well as the ChargeNow DC Fast program, which is similar in some ways to Nissan's No Charge To Charge. Let's start with the chargers. Smaller and much cheaper than other DC fast chargers, an i DC Fast Charger costs just $6,548 plus installation. Remember, it was a big deal in 2011 when Nissan's DC fast charger was less than $10,000. The i DC Fast Chargers use the SAE Combo connector, so will also work in EVs from Ford, VW and Chevy and other automakers, when available. They take 30 minutes to charge an empty i3 to 80 percent full. All a driver will need in order to use the charger is a ChargePoint (or ChargeNow) card. Most of the first units will likely end up at BMW i dealers across the US. In a separate announcement, the ChargeNow DC Fast program will allow BMW i3 drivers to get free charging until the end of 2015 at participating NRG eVgo Freedom Stations. The catch is that they need to use the ChargeNow card at least once by the end of 2014. eVgo is promising to install at least 100 compatible DC fast chargers in California by the end of next year, so this should be relatively easy in at least one of the 50 states. BMW i DC Fast Chargers, developed in collaboration with Bosch Automotive Service Solutions, are half the size of current DC Combo fast chargers, compatible with multiple electric vehicles and significantly more affordable. BMW i DC Fast Chargers run on the ChargePoint network giving BMW i3 drivers access with a ChargePoint or ChargeNow card. ChargeNow DC Fast enables BMW i3 drivers to charge at no cost, at participating NRG eVgo Freedom Stations equipped with DC Combo Fast Charging, through 2015. At Plug-In 2014, a conference dedicated to discussing key issues for the long-term success of electric vehicles, BMW of North America launched its BMW i DC Fast Chargers which can charge the BMW i3 all-electric vehicle's battery up to 80 percent in 30 minutes.
Bunny couldn't out hop a BMW M3 on-track
Mon, 15 Jul 2013Driving a car is a dangerous hobby, and not just because of other drivers or poor roads. Sometimes, it seems like even the wildlife is out to get you, as evidenced here, here, here, here and here. Now, we can add one more unfortunate car-versus-animal encounter to the tally.
Perhaps believing that this bright orange BMW M3 GTS was a very fast, very loud carrot, an unfortunate bunny leaped into its windshield in a brutal accident at a Polish racetrack. Considering the M3's speed at the time, 89 miles per hour, the passengers are lucky to be okay. Obviously, Bugs didn't make it.
The BMW isn't in such great shape, though. The windshield is in a bit of a state, with safety glass sprayed all over the passenger side of the cabin. There doesn't appear to be any sheetmetal damage, at least from what we can tell from the video. Although there isn't any blood, the hit is really hard. The initial point of impact is at 0:57. Mon, 20 Oct 2014An E36 BMW 3 Series might be a good choice for a lot of purposes - a long road trip, a track day, rallycross, impressing your friends... but a full-on rally? It's rear-drive when the best rally machines are front- or all-wheel drive. But that didn't stop Pritt Koik and Alari-Uku Heldna from entering their stripped-out E36 in the Viru Rally in Estonia... or from getting some big air time when they did.
Fortunately the jump was not just caught on video... it was caught on video from three angles: two from the side of the rally stage and one from inside the cockpit. Check out all three below to see how this particular BMW got back into the aircraft business.
