97 BMW 528i w/ 5-speed Manual Transmission

2.8 liter engine
5-speed manual transmission

Exterior: Silver
Interior: Black

Mileage: 200,756
Original Miles
Well Maintained 2 owner car
Non-Smoker Car

Exterior: The over all condition of the exterior is good to great. The paint is good considering it's a 1997. There are no major dings, scratches or problems on the body. Only problem on the body is front bumper. It's ok to drive with, but the bottom of the bumper is cracked due to it bumped against a parking curb. You can located one on eBay from 200-400 depending on if you find the 5 series original bumper or the M5 style bumper.

- All hoses on the BMW have been maintained and replaced with new hoses. All shining and factory OEM
- Tires are in good condition.
- Clutch feels great and new
- Vehicle doesn't make any noises, runs very smooth, and purr like a cat.
- You can easily and confidently drive it home.
- Brakes have been changed and driven on for only a couple months.
- NON smoker vehicle for all it's life
- Orange Country, CA car, purchased at Shelly BMW in Orange County.
- Never been in snow for it to have ANY kind of rust.
- Rims are in good condition except for two of the rims are missing the rim covers
- There's a crack on the driver seat plastic piece which I've taken a picture of.
- Interior has no rips in the leather. The front passenger seat has a little minor blemish in color about 2 inches and the passenger seat censor for the airbag doesn't work, therefore the airbag light stays on for passenger but it's only the sensor and I wasn't going to change the seat or have the leather removed just to change the airbag sensor.
- Title of the car is clear with no accidents that I know of.
- All the power windows work and operate except for driver's window doesn't go down more than half way.
- The car is not perfect, but is in VERY good shape considering it's age and mileage.
- I'm not a mechanic so I'm being as truthful and open with everything I know about the car.
- The back trunk lid light doesn't work so there's a little light on for the command center.
- The gages all work properly, a couple little pixels are out on the clock but is still visible.

I've included every detail about the car I know of. I'm sad to see this BMW 5 series go because it's been an awesome, clean, fun, enjoyable car that's been good to me. I am NOT a mechanic therefore I DO NOT take any responsibility for anything going wrong with the vehicle because you are bidding on a 1997 car.

There is no warranty with this car and is SOLD AS-IS

The 5 series is also listed on other sites, therefore I reserve the right to end auction earlier than scheduled if the car sells.

- There will be NO test drives given because I am NOT a dealership and WILL NOT take any responsibility for an accident during a test drive.

NO problem if you want to have a mechanic check the car out prior to bidding or purchasing. I have NOTHING to hide.

Ask any questions prior to bidding, I will try my best to address your question.

Buyer is responsible for pick up, and must do so within 72 hours of auction ending unless we work something out over email or phone.

BUYER PAYS FOR TAX, LICENSE, and ANY FEES ASSOCIATED WITH PURCHASING A CAR IN CA.

Car and Driver lists 10Best for 2013, same as it ever was

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

Forgive us for having the distinct feeling of déjà vu, but it certainly feels like we've been here before. By that we are referring Car and Driver and the announcement of its annual 10Best vehicles for 2013. To be sure, it's an impressive selection of cars that combine heart-pounding performance and frugal sensibilities, but it also represents something of a broken record on the part of C/D. We're not so sure that's a flaw, though, as the resulting list is tough to argue with.
Vehicles like the Ford Mustang, Porsche Boxster, and BMW 3 Series have maintained their high-horsepower spots on this list for several years now. Even on the more practical and nimble end, the Honda Accord, Honda Fit and Mazda Miata have not budged. These continued spots are even in light of redesigns for some vehicles such as the Accord, Boxster and 3 Series.
In fact, the only newcomer to the 10Best list this year are the Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ twins, which knocked out the Cadillac CTS-V. We think it would have been a huge misstep to have excluded the FR-S/BRZ, even in light of the supercharged Caddy's lamentable departure from 10Best.

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder and Road Test Editor Zac Palmer. The car chat begins this week with a review of the 2022 Kia EV6, followed by Zac's drive of the 2022 Acura NSX Type-S. Then they discuss Autoblog's new long-term loan, a 2022 BMW 330e xDrive. They've also been driving the Ford Explorer Timberline and Kia Sorento Hybrid. In the news, they discuss the soon-to-be-revealed Alfa Romeo Tonale, as well as the recently unveiled Aston Martin DBX707. Here's what else you could buy for the average new-car price of $40,573

Fri, Jan 22 2021

Autoblog may receive a share from purchases made via links on this page. Pricing and availability are subject to change. The average price of a new car in America hit a new record in December 2020: $40,573. Not that we're surprised — the average has been over $35,000 for the past few years — but seeing that baseline figure crest 40 large is still a sticker-shock to the system. So, as we do every once in a while, we put our collective heads together and came up with a list of alternatives that you could choose to buy for that sum, new or old, classic or practical. Now, let's be crystal clear about one thing here. We're not actually recommending you make this type of decision. That said, we wouldn't blame you if you did. Managing Editor Greg Rasa: $40,000 will buy a fully loaded Camry or moderately equipped crossover. Or, for $39,997, to be exact, one could go motoring in a fine British automobile. This 2006 Aston Martin DB9 Volante in Alabama has 21,452 miles on it, and depreciation has worked its cruel magic: It is listed for less than one-quarter of its $168,000 starting MSRP when it was new. A check of other used DB9s nationwide indicates this is a fair price. This Aston's CarFax reveals two owners. (One, really, as the second was a dealership. Looks like it got traded in for a Porsche.) If you're understandably concerned about reliability, its service history indicates no surprises to date. Remember, it has a 450-horsepower 5.9-liter V12. And spring is coming. Of course a used Aston Martin is riskier than a new Camry. But as Louis Prima sang, "Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think." What price beauty? Less than $40 grand. Associate Editor Byron Hurd: This price point opens up a ton of options in the "nearly new" luxury space, including a few good enthusiast picks, but my nod here goes to the Cadillac ATS-V. The discontinued, M3/M4-rivaling, 465-horsepower sport sedan and coupe can be had all day long in this price range with low miles. In fact, the real challenge is finding one in the spec you want, since it's one of those old-fashioned cars that actually presented the buyer with choices. Here's a clean, six-speed sedan in an actual color for less than our target price, for example. Coupes are more plentiful than sedans, especially in interesting colors, but there are plenty of them out there.
