1997 Bmw 528i 5-speed Manual 2.8l, Reconditioned on 2040-cars
Alpharetta, Georgia, United States
RARE 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANS with EXCELLENT SERVICE HISTORY! As a rule, we don't usually carry cars of this age or mileage, but there's always an exception - in this case a very rare manual E39 is generally very good condition. We know the history of the car and it has received prompt and effective attention whenever needed, though it reached the end of its previous owners patience when it blew a head gasket recently. We had that done, along with much other minor engine work and we believe the result is a car that will not only be an absolute blast to drive, but will offer several years of reliable service to someone. And incidentally, if you are familiar with the efficiency of that indestructible BMW 2.8l inline Six, you know that this engine/trans combo can easily net high 20's in fuel economy - OR you can drive it like a sports car and it will almost handle and respond like one.
Certainly the 528 of this generation is one of the most competent and versatile - and durable - cars ever built. If you are a fan, this one's for you! Please bear in mind that this car is a GIANT step above what you are usually likely to encounter in this age of car; everything works as it should - AC, lights, windows, radio (trunk CD changer, too!), seats, wipers - ALL OF IT!. And the car will not embarrass you when you pull up to the Country Club or the mosh pit; no significant dents or scratches, no blistering or fading paint, no curbed wheels, matching performance tires, smooth bumpers, etc. And inside, believe or not, the wood is NOT cracked, the leather is not stained or worn through, the carpets are clean, the steering wheel is not alligatored, and miracle of miracle, the headliner is not sagging! Don't miss it. Give us a call at 770-667-5280 or drop by our lot conveniently located at 245 S Main St (Hwy 9) in Downtown Alpharetta, just a block South of Old Milton (Hwy 120). But don't procrastinate- there's probably not another out there in this condition. If you are an out-of-town buyer we strongly encourage and will participate fully in getting you a Pre-Purchase Inspection at a local independent garage of your choosing or at the franchised dealer. If you prefer to have the car shipped to you, we will help with a wholesale rate on shipping and will allow a return if we are notified within 3 days and you pay return shipping. You can visit our website (luxuryimportsinc.com) for more pictures and we will be glad to take as many more as you need, including underside shots and video of the drive. |

BMW i3 gets tuner treatment from Eve.Ryn
Sat, Oct 11 2014The BMW i3, especially when wearing its Capparis White paint job, already looks a bit like some sort of futuristic escape pod launched to Earth from a spaceship. It was only a matter of time until the electric car got touched by the eager hands of a tuner to make it even more eye-popping. It is, after all, a BMW. Japanese tuner Garage Eve.Ryn appears to be the first to give the i3 the inevitable once over. The result is a much more aggressive-looking EV, called the i3 EVO. We say aggressive-looking, because we have no information to suggest that the makeover was anything but cosmetic. The i3 EVO has slightly exaggerated fender flares, which stand out with their strips of carbon fiber along the edge. The redesigned front bumper looks like it could have been fashioned out of Star Wars stormtrooper armor, complete with fake air intakes and, of course, a helping of carbon. The rear end gets a diffuser, too. The large wheels feature blue accents, which help to highlight the Ice Blue bits already on the vehicle. For a closer look, check out the i3 EVO photos in the gallery and there are more like it on Eve.Ryn's Facebook page, in galleries here, here and here, as well as a more recent set of images showing the car emblazoned with Energy Motor Sport (a company that appears closely related to Eve.Ryn, on the distribution end) decals on the sides. There's no telling what the body kit does for the aerodynamics of the car, but it would be interesting to find out what effect Eve.Ryn's handiwork has on the i3's range. Either way, this surely won't be the last time a tuner finds a way to reimagine the BMW i3, so, love it or hate it, you might as well get used to it.
Forza Motorsport profiles courageous paralyzed racer
Fri, 08 Aug 2014It's easy to look at racing video games as just a time waster or a hobby. In reality, though, they're often powerful tools for aspiring racers to learn tracks, race craft and how to set up a car in an easily accessible, risk-free environment. We aren't just talking about proper computer-based sims, like iRacing. Console-based racers like Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo provide a test bed for racers of all sorts.
For Mario Bonfante, Jr., a former motorcycle racer that was involved in a brutal accident that left him in a wheelchair with only limited use of his arms, Forza is a bit more. It allows him to perfect the setup of his personal racecar, a heavily modified E46 BMW M3, complete with hand controls.
Check out Mario's inspiring story.
Watch this BMW take flight at Viru Rally
Mon, 20 Oct 2014An E36 BMW 3 Series might be a good choice for a lot of purposes - a long road trip, a track day, rallycross, impressing your friends... but a full-on rally? It's rear-drive when the best rally machines are front- or all-wheel drive. But that didn't stop Pritt Koik and Alari-Uku Heldna from entering their stripped-out E36 in the Viru Rally in Estonia... or from getting some big air time when they did.
Fortunately the jump was not just caught on video... it was caught on video from three angles: two from the side of the rally stage and one from inside the cockpit. Check out all three below to see how this particular BMW got back into the aircraft business.
