This is truly the nicest and most well maintained and preserved e28 I could find in all my search over the last few years! Everything has been replaced over the years, this car is such a pleasure to drive!

I am regretfully offering up my wonderful e28, a 1983 528e. This car has been loved, properly maintained, and garage kept EVERY SINGLE day of it's ownership since purchased new. I have a complete paper history of the car since it's purchase date from the original owner who owned the car up until 2012. This e28 is a rare southern gem and is completely rust free top to bottom, and all of the seats (even the drivers) are in absolutely amazing condition. All door seals were regularly lubed and all service is up to date, all glass is perfect, the paint glistens, the tires are new, the performance rotors are drilled and slotted, the A/C blows cold, the heat burns hot, the TB WP and tensioner were recently done and more including Blaupunkt radio. Everything works, all lights, buttons, gauges, etc. The trans shifts perfectly in and out of every gear and the engine idles without hesitation, even in stop and go traffic with the A/C blowing full blast this engine runs smooth as a sewing machine. The car received a very high end respray in the factory color that was done flawlessly everywhere, unfortunately with the exception of the hood which has some light checking but is almost un-noticeable, but otherwise the body is near perfect.

This car is all original except for a new B&B high performance exhaust, perfect condition Mtech steering wheel, Bavarian Autosport coils, and the radio. The dashboard is even PERFECT, not a single crack can be found on it! This car also boasts a complete and perfect tool set.

It's almost too good to be true to believe how great this car is. I would drive it to California and back without hesitation and recently returned from a 300 mile trip with the car. The odometer reads an unbelievable 344,000 miles, but both the engine and transmission had been rebuilt once in it's life and it really runs and drives like it has 3,000 miles on it. Don't let the miles fool you, you wouldn't know if the odometer and I didn't tell you!

This is truly an enthusiasts dream car and it is very important that it goes to an enthusiast. I am a BMW car club of America member and have been restoring and loving bimmers for years. This is a very rare find that I would love to see a fellow enthusiast end up with. Brand new NJ inspection just performed as well!

I have bought and sold vehicles all over the country and will gladly work with the shipper of your choice.

Comparison test: 2019 Acura RDX vs. compact luxury SUV competitors

Fri, Jun 1 2018

Truth be told, if we were to compare the all-new 2019 Acura RDX with those compact luxury crossover SUVs it would most likely be cross-shopped against, you'd be looking at a different list. Even Acura admits that Lexus and Infiniti are the most likely bogies, but with the 2019 RDX, Honda's luxury brand is attempting to attract those customers who think as much with their hearts as with their heads. And for the most part, those folks have been buying from German brands: the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class. So, to show how the new RDX compares to them, Acura actually provided examples of each during the recent press drive along with a Volvo XC60. All were determined to have greater emotional appeal than the last RDX, and we would certainly agree. For, as much as the previous-generation RDX made sense on paper, it was really hard to get excited about it. And when you're paying extra for a luxury vehicle, shouldn't you get a little excited? Well, as luck would have it, Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski and I were on hand in Whistler, British Columbia, for the press launch. We didn't have an abundance of time in each RDX competitor, but in conjunction with our usual comparison chart, our impressions should provide a good first taste of how the new RDX compares. Performance and fuel economy Contributing Editor James Riswick: On paper at least, the RDX is gutsier than its comparably powered European rivals. It also weighs the same or less, which logically should mean it'll be the quickest in a straight line. During my brief drives, though, I'm not sure it really stood taller than the three Germans. It at least matches them for smoothness, which is something that can't be said about the Volvo. Fuel economy is lower than them all when you consider all but the Mercedes come standard with all-wheel drive. It's also worth noting that all the competitors are available with engine upgrades, and unless Acura's forthcoming resurrection of Type S models includes the RDX, it should stay that way. Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: Line 'em all up in a drag race, and I have a feeling the Acura would squirt away to victory. A good bit of that, though, would be due to its 10-speed automatic transmission, which offers a huge spread of ratios and fires off extremely quick shifts. In the real world, I'd guess fuel economy will be similar across the board, so I'm willing to call that category a draw.

BMW Concept 90 Motorcycle debuts at Villa d'Este

Fri, 24 May 2013

The Concept 90 is one of two new vehicles BMW is showing off at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on the tony shores of Lake Como in Italy. This year is the 90th anniversary of BMW Motorrad and the 40th anniversary of the R 90 S (inset) - the first production motorcycle to come with a front fairing - and BMW has worked with custom bike builder Roland Sands Design to craft a homage to the Daytona Orange boxer from the Seventies.
While following the line of its forbearer, obviously the Concept 90 has been sexed and sleeked up. The bodywork is of hand-worked aluminum, the giant halogen lamp of the 1975 model (which is when Daytona Orange was introduced) has gone LED, and the front engine cover, valve covers, exhaust and wheels have been made with a contrast-cut milling process.
For a finer description of the Concept 90 check out the press release below, or skip the words and go straight to the high-res images above.

Motorweek remembers the Bimmers that made us all fall in love

Sat, Dec 27 2014

The enthusiast's tied-in-knots relationship with BMW makes the Bavarians one of those brands especially ripe for nostalgic flights. That's why as soon as we saw the opening shot of Motorweek's review of the 1986 BMW 325e and a 635Csi, we let out a long sigh and thought, "Ahhhhh, I remember those days..." The two red barons were the new entries for the year, the 325e offering a couple of extra doors for the first time, the 635CSi rounding up the powerplant's displacement compared to the 633CSi that preceded it. The inline six-cylinder in the current 335i sedan gets on with 300 horsepower; 28 years ago, the 325e made do with a 2.7-liter inline six offering 121 hp, taking 9.3 seconds to get to 60 miles per hour from a standstill. That's four seconds more than today. Those willing to pay $41,000 for the 635CSi got a 3.4-liter inline six with 182 hp, and Motorweek praised it as a "confident handling car that does feel big and clumsy at times." The more things change, you know... Check out the video for a reminder of how BMW got to be what it is, and to hear the most unusual use of the word "oriental" we've heard in a while.
