1976 Bmw 2002 E10 on 2040-cars

I have owned this BMW since August of 2010. In the last year it has been almost completely gone thru. The chassis was completely stripped of all chrome, trim, lights, glass, carpet, headliner, etc. It was then repainted in PPG base coat/clear coat to a high standard. It has many new rubber seals (doors, windshield, etc.), new sunroof cables, new carpet, new headliner and new BMW factory seat cushions. The engine was rebuilt 35,000 miles ago and starts and runs strong, no smoke, no leaks. The trans shifts perfectly and the brakes have less than 1000 miles on all new components. The car has BMW E30 bottle cap wheels with 195/60 Yokohama tires, but I have the original steel wheels and tires in excellent condition, as well as the original steering wheel. The car is fitted with early steel bumpers in place of the ugly rubber bumpers. The car had very small rust spots at the corners of the driver and passenger footwells which were cut out and new steel welded in. The car originally came out of the Washington, D.C. area and is very solid. It is now located in southeastern Pennsylvania, approx. 35 miles southwest of Philadelphia. Next BMW X6 to be larger, more aggressive
Tue, 16 Apr 2013If the current BMW X6, introduced in 2008, is looking a bit too bland for your tastes, have no fear as the next-generation model is reportedly going to be larger and more aggressive than its predecessor.
Autocar is reporting that an insider has revealed the all-new second-generation X6 will make its world debut at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, going on sale just after summer. More aggressive styling will help BMW distinguish its sportier X6 from BMW's more practical models, such as the X3 and X5, said the source.
The next X6 will again share platforms with the X5, but it will be stretched slightly to provide second-row passengers with more legroom. Powerplants will also likely mirror those of its mainstream cousin, including a range of turbocharged six- and eight-cylinder engines and a range-topping M model (the 2013 BMW X6 M is show above).
Mini JCW Paceman vs. BMW M135i in family faceoff
Mon, 15 Apr 2013Over the last year, we've had the chance to drive two of the most exciting hatchbacks in the BMW family - the BMW M135i and the Mini Paceman John Cooper Works - but Autocar has managed to get the two corporate cousins together for a head-to-head comparison. Just like our initial impressions of the Paceman JCW, Autocar has little to complain about this new 215-horsepower hatchback... until it begins to factor in the faster, better-mannered and similarly priced M135i.
Despite laying down an extra 100 hp and delivering a 0-60 time that is almost two seconds quicker, the M135i carries the same price tag of 29,535 pounds in the UK; US pricing for the Paceman starts at $36,200, while it still isn't even clear if the US will be getting the M135i. Even more surprising is the fact that the Paceman falls short of the M135i in regards to rear seat and cargo volume, and just barely squeaks out a win in the fuel economy department. 2014 BMW 328d xDrive Sport Wagon
Fri, 11 Apr 2014There's a running joke among auto writers that the perfect car would be a diesel-powered, rear-drive wagon with manual transmission and no power accessories whatsoever. It would only be available in brown and would somehow be as fun to drive as a Mazda MX-5 Miata. Makes total sense, right?
Realistically, no manufacturer is ever going to completely fulfill our wishes, no matter how much we beg, plead, kick and scream about our dream car that most of us would actually never buy. The best we can do is hope for a vehicle that mixes some aspects of this ideal journalist's car. And in today's world, that vehicle just might be the BMW 328d xDrive Sport Wagon.
No, it's not available with a manual gearbox, and power can only be sent through an xDrive all-wheel-drive system. It's also not available in brown (although both Mojave Metallic and Sparkling Bronze Metallic are acceptable stand-ins), but it ticks the two main boxes of being a diesel-powered wagon, one of only a couple such models in the United States.
