I am selling my 1974 BMW 2002.  I am the fourth owner from new.  The car is in good condition and is almost all original with low mileage.  There are three items not original to the car; the stereo and speaker, the wheels (320i), and a re-spray in the original color.  The engine and interior are original with the engine having less than 98,000 original miles.

BMW records show the car was built on May 31, 1974 and  delivered on June 10, 1974 to the USA importer, Hoffman Motors of New York.  The original color is Arctisblau Metallic, paint code 045.  It was re-sprayed approximately 15 years ago, from what I was told.  It shows clear coat blistering on the trunk, roof, and hood.  There are some areas of rust bubbles under the paint too.  The interior is in very good condition with everything there.  No tears in the seats, but a few small rips in the headliner.  The aftermarket stereo is a CD player (with removable face-plate) with two speakers in each door and two speaker in the rear under the seat cushion.  The trunk is in great shape with original spare and it has the jack and wheel wrench.  Engine compartment is it original and tidy, with the motor running good and strong.  There is NO oil burning and it does not blow smoke out the back.

Here is a good example of an 2002.

Car is sold as-it, where-is.

BMW M4 spied in coupe and convertible form

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

From the sound of it, we'll have to wait until the Detroit Auto Show to see the production version of the BMW M4, but spy shots show the new hi-po BMW testing recently in both coupe and convertible form. Showing a lot more skin than recent spy shots, these M4 prototypes look very similar to the M4 Concept we saw at Pebble Beach.
Carryovers from the concept car include the funky mirrors, bulging hood and the slotted front fascia vents, but the rear fascia seems to be missing the added flair of the concept and, as expected, the carbon fiber front splitter and exhaust tips are also missing from these M4s. Like the current M3 Convertible, the drop-top version of the M4 will utilize a retractable hard top.

There's no substitution for BMW's E30 Mmmmm3

Mon, 17 Jun 2013

If you told someone that you had a friend with a four-cylinder BMW who "would let me wash the car," and in exchange for the privilege then let you drive that clean BMW once around the block, your first question would probably be "What kind of BMW is this?" There's a chance you wouldn't be surprised once you found out the coupe in question was the E30 M3, a car our own Zach Bowman dubbed the "Mmmmm3."
Petrolicious talks to Gabor Mester about the car he fell in love with, a black version of the original "Munich mauler" that was owned by the parents of a high-school friend - oh, and Mester was also in high school when this washing and driving took place. When the original owners were ready to sell, Mestor was ready to buy, and he hasn't had a single regret about it since.
You can enjoy his story in his words in the video below.

The List: The Red BMW - A Retrospective

Mon, 23 Dec 2013

We can't help but use this time of year to look back at the days before and reminisce about friends who are no longer in our lives. For The List, Jessi and Patrick were often joined by a little, red BMW 3 Series that, at times, felt like a third host of the show. Having been bought used for just a thousand bucks, the red BMW proved to be surprisingly durable. Through jumps, dunks and monster trucks, it remained our little trooper 'till the very end, and on the way taught us all how important a faithful four-wheeled companion is to the life's work of completing one's automotive bucket list.
For our last episode of The List in 2013, we give you The Red BMW - A Retrospective.
