Looking for a new good home for my '02.

This beautiful car was originally purchased in San Diego, CA and transferred ownership at some point to a couple in Sacramento CA. It was obviously a California valley car most of it's life as there is little to no rust. I purchased the car in 2006 after said couple had the engine completely rebuilt; since then less than 30,000 miles has been put on the engine (odometer is broken, however was not reset). I drove the car cross country with little problem (only fan belt broke in Alabama). It was my daily driver from 2006-2008, then I picked up a 330i and drove the '02 only on weekends. The car was faithfully serviced over the years by a father/son shop called Sigy Auto Service Center in Rockville, MD, who specialize on BMWs only. I have all service records, original owner's manual and service log, 2 extra keys. The car will come with a Kenwood CD/Sirius radio and Kenwood speakers in the rear. No speaker holes have been made in the doors. The interior is completely origional and in excellent condition, no rips/holes. The car also has 70s era coco husk floormats and era alloy wheels. The engine runs strong, some things need servicing: the exhaust and sunroof. Everything else works: wipers, lights, cigarette lighter, even the A/C! Green is the original color of the car.

If you know about '02s then you know 1973 was the last year the round tail lights were made. This is a cult classic car!

2016 BMW 7 Series spied for the first time ever

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Ladies and gentlemen, Bimmerphiles and automotive voyeurs of all stripes: here is your next-generation BMW 7 Series. Captured in photographs for the first time ever while doing a spot of cold-weather testing in Sweden, this newly slim 7er will most likely debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2015 and launch in the 2016 model year.
Sources indicate that BMW is targeting a much lighter curb weight for the 7 Series, and will use learnings gained with the i3 and i8 development to add carbon fiber-reinforced plastics in the construction. In return we'd expect the new model - which uses the internal model designation "G11" - to offer improvements in handling, acceleration and fuel economy. As with the current 7 Series lineup, expect the engine range to include turbocharged inline-six engines, one or more V8s and a V12 option.
It's fair to say that, with the car's debut still years down the road, that BMW will work to launch with an impressive suite of in-car technology, too. A completely new version of iDrive shouldn't be ruled out. These shots mark the beginning of a long journey to 2015, and we expect to have loads more information to share in the coming months and years, so stay tuned.

BMW's Best 1 Series Gives Back What You Put In
Every once in a while, I find myself, despite my solitary leanings and inherent modesty, working out in some kind of class setting. The tone and tenor of these classes ranges wildly - from the quiet, follow-the-leader variety, to those with a kind of Cult of Personality man or woman calling the shots, usually with idiom-laden shouting and theatrical hair. Despite their personal variation and range of professional effectiveness, there's one common concept that most instructors bring up at some point: working with intention.
The idea, as it relates to physical fitness, is that focusing your brain on the movement at hand - the rate of your own breathing, or the muscle groups being worked for instance - helps to perform the act efficiently and correctly. Having spent a happy majority of the last decade in an exercise-free near-debauch, I was a bit surprised to find out that this kind of mental game really works pretty well.

BMW i8 pitted against M4 in sibling rivalry track battle

Wed, Jan 7 2015

We recently watched Auto Bild challenge the BMW i8 against the M4 in a German drag race of decide the quicker of the inter-brand rivals. The hybrid took a commanding victory in that fight. However, Autocar now has a new battle for the two coupes. The siblings are together again on the Castle Combe Circuit to find out which of them offers the more enjoyable experience at the track. Unfortunately, we don't ever get a perfect point of comparison in the video because host Steve Sutcliffe never does a full lap in anger with either of them to set a time. Instead, he focuses more on how the BMWs feel behind the wheel. Sutcliffe also admits midway through the clip that the i8's electric motor is out of juice to power the front axle's electric motor. That only leaves the hybrid with its 228-horsepower and 236-pound-feet-of-torque turbocharged three-cylinder to spin the rear wheels. Still, Sutcliffe spends ample time explaining the benefits and downfalls of driving these coupes. See where his opinion falls between the M4 as the traditional German sports coupe and the i8 as the new-school hybrid in the video, above.
