1971 Bmw 2002 2dr Sedan 4-cyl. 1990cc 1bbl on 2040-cars
Cary, North Carolina, United States
2dr Sedan 4-cyl. 1990cc/100hp 1bbl4 - speed manual transmission This car was purchased about a year ago from La Jolla, Calif. where it had been since new. It had been sitting in a garage for many years but the car has been completely gone over by a long time BMW expert to bring it back to its original glory. It starts right up, runs, drives and shifts great. The only rust on the car was on the hood which has been replaced. Otherwise this is a very original car. Engine runs really well and has great power and pull. Transmission shifts smoothly. Nice smooth and quiet ride. Beautiful dashboard with NO cracks All lights, heater, blower motor, horn, etc. work great. Odometer works and says 17,500 which given how tight and how well the car drives is probably 117,500. Freshly painted the original Colorado Orange New front and rear window glass New tires New muffler and exhaust The car was hit in the right front fender in the early 80's and was repaired to a very high standard using a new fender. Gaps look very good. Unfortunately, due to the value of the car at it time it was given a salvage title after the repair. Aside from that this a very honest, straight and beautifully sorted car. Drive it home today. It catches peoples attention every where it goes. This car has the 4-speed manual transmission but a 5-speed transmission is available at additional cost. Car could be driven almost anywhere and can be shipped worldwide. We will assist with shipping as much as possible but buyer is responsible for all costs and logistics. Please email with any questions. We want you to know exactly what you are getting and to be happy with the car. Car is located in Hillsborough, NC |

BMW i3 gets tuner treatment from Eve.Ryn
Sat, Oct 11 2014The BMW i3, especially when wearing its Capparis White paint job, already looks a bit like some sort of futuristic escape pod launched to Earth from a spaceship. It was only a matter of time until the electric car got touched by the eager hands of a tuner to make it even more eye-popping. It is, after all, a BMW. Japanese tuner Garage Eve.Ryn appears to be the first to give the i3 the inevitable once over. The result is a much more aggressive-looking EV, called the i3 EVO. We say aggressive-looking, because we have no information to suggest that the makeover was anything but cosmetic. The i3 EVO has slightly exaggerated fender flares, which stand out with their strips of carbon fiber along the edge. The redesigned front bumper looks like it could have been fashioned out of Star Wars stormtrooper armor, complete with fake air intakes and, of course, a helping of carbon. The rear end gets a diffuser, too. The large wheels feature blue accents, which help to highlight the Ice Blue bits already on the vehicle. For a closer look, check out the i3 EVO photos in the gallery and there are more like it on Eve.Ryn's Facebook page, in galleries here, here and here, as well as a more recent set of images showing the car emblazoned with Energy Motor Sport (a company that appears closely related to Eve.Ryn, on the distribution end) decals on the sides. There's no telling what the body kit does for the aerodynamics of the car, but it would be interesting to find out what effect Eve.Ryn's handiwork has on the i3's range. Either way, this surely won't be the last time a tuner finds a way to reimagine the BMW i3, so, love it or hate it, you might as well get used to it.
BMW won't build M4 Gran Coupe
Fri, 04 Jul 2014Over the last few years, it feels like BMW has looked at its lineup and decided to offer a vehicle in every possible segment that it can find, no matter how small. The company is finally showing some restraint, though, at least when it comes to the high performance M division. For example, don't expect to see an M4 Gran Coupe at your local BMW dealer in the future.
M GmbH sales chief Jörg Bartels told Cars Guide in Australia, "It was definitely considered, but there is no plan to build an M4 Gran Coupe." The sport sedan just wouldn't make financial sense, he said. BMW already builds the M3 and M4 at separate factories, adding a third for such a niche model would be too much. Plus, the M3 already fills out the segment.
If you wanted an M model with a bit more storage space in the back, Bartels dashed those dreams, as well. He said that there isn't an M3 Gran Turismo hatchback in the pipeline, either.
BMW Films are on the way back [w/videos]
Mon, 17 Feb 2014The BMW Films series caused a stir in 2001 and 2002 by combining top-quality cinematography, Hollywood names and driving excitement to sell its sporty wares in a whole new way. By arriving five years before YouTube, they ranked as some of the earliest viral videos on the internet. By now, these sorts of films are almost commonplace, but back when BMW hit upon the idea, the idea of brand-integrated short films on the internet was still a novelty. Now, for the first time in over a decade, the German automaker is planning on bringing back BMW Films for a new season.
Trudy Hardy, BMW North America Vice President of Marketing, announced the series' return at the 2014 Automotive News World Congress in Detroit, according to Ad Age. However, neither the German brand nor Anonymous Content, the original production company, have been willing to comment further on when the new videos are coming.
The original series of eight films starred Clive Owen as the Driver (back then, Owen was largely unknown to American audiences), a mercenary who would take a variety of jobs and always drive a BMW. David Fincher executive produced the first season and directors included top names like John Frankenheimer, Ang Lee and Guy Ritchie. All of the second season movies had Owen driving a Z4, but in our estimation, the quality had fallen off a bit compared to the outstanding first season.
