A 2010 BMW 135i

This is a well maintained, low miles car. It was always serviced at a BMW dealer, and is completely up to date on all maintenance. This BMW has all the options that you could order in the 2010 Model with one exception and that the 19" wheel package, it has the m-sport wheel and sport package, however we didn't get the 19" M-Sport Wheel upgrade as the 19" tires are bunch more expensive to replace when needed.

The car has 46,500 miles on it and will continue to be driven daily on the nice warm days. It does not see snow, but does see rain from time to time. Almost all miles are highway driving, my job takes me everywhere and this has been my favorite traveling car because of the quick performance and great gas milage. It rides and drives great! The Car outperforms other 335 and 535 cars since it's the same engine, but with much less weight, it's rear wheel drive and a pleasure to drive!

Last fall I had all 4 tires replaced with BMW Approved Run Flat Tires, not just any RunFlat, These tires have the official BMW Star on the Tire to ensure that they were made to BMW specs. It's really worth it because the car handles perfectly. At that same time, the exhaust waste gate was rattling and so BMW replaced that under warranty and so it has brand new exhaust system and brand new Black Chrome BMW Performance Tips installed at the same time. Also two of the wheel were fixed from some light curb rash after the new tires where installed, the 2 wheel remaining may need some curb repair, but hardly noticeable. There are some stone chips in the front bumper of the car, nothing too crazy, but worth mentioning. The bumper front plate holes where repaired since the other state it was titled required a front plate, this was done at a professional body shop, done very well! Otherwise the paint is in great shape.

This car shows on the NADA Retail as 27,150, but I can't ask retail for the retail for the car as I am not a dealer. However I will guarantee that the car has more options then the others on ebay and with the new tires, it's certainly worth more then the NADA trade numbers. I am open to reasonable offers, however not willing to sell for Trade in Money or Wholesale. We replaced this with another newer car and so no longer have need for this, but not interested in giving away, would most likely to trade it on a new SUV this fall if can't sell for a reasonable price.

The car will be detailed before pick-up, and is available for full inspection with a 24 hour notice.

Thanks for looking.

BMW's Connected Drive feature vulnerable to hackers

Tue, Feb 3 2015

BMW is working to fix a cyber-security flaw that has left 2.2 million vehicles worldwide vulnerable to hackers. Cars equipped with the automaker's Connected Drive remote-services system are affected, according to the German Automobile Association (ADAC), which first discovered the problem. Researchers found they could lock and unlock car doors by mimicking mobile communications and sending phony signals to a SIM card installed in affected vehicles. An attack could be launched "within minutes" of accessing the system without the perpetrators leaving a trace, according to their report, in part because once they had gained access to the network, the communications were not secure. In response to the security gap, BMW says it has been upgrading software via over-the-air updates over the past week, so no visits to dealerships are needed to remedy the security hole. In fact, owners of affected cars may not have even noticed the updates taking place. The problem affects BMW, Rolls-Royce and MINI vehicles equipped with Connected Drive since 2010. Flaws were first reported to BMW last year by ADAC, which is the country's equivalent of AAA. ADAC says it withheld a public announcement until the car company could address the problem. While BMW has pushed the software patch to most affected vehicles, the organization said it's possible some at cars in the United States had not yet been updated. BMW did not respond to a request for comment Monday. In a written statement, the automaker said it knows of no real-world breaches. 2015 Off To Dubious Start The hack could raise the eyebrows of industry leaders: Cars are now the equivalent of mobile computers and cyber-security experts have been warning that the auto industry has been slow to close its security holes. BMW's breach marks the second time in 2015 that researchers have found a popular automotive feature with little or no security precautions. Last month, experts said a popular device made by Progressive Insurance that allows motorists to track their driving habits contained no security whatsoever. Like the Connected Drive smart-phone app, many automotive components and infotainment features were conceived and produced at a time when industry executives never considered the possibility someone might want to hack into them. But increased connectivity brings increased risk. Going forward, BMW says its Connected Drive features will now operate by using encrypted communications via the HTTPS protocol.

BMW mulled ten, eight, and six-cylinder engines for i8 before going hybrid

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

There's little doubt that the 2015 BMW i8 is one of the most radical and groundbreaking performance cars this industry has seen in a long time. From its unique carbon-intensive construction to its 1.5-liter, three-cylinder and electric motor plug-in powertrain to its concept-car appearance, the flagbearer for BMW's new i venture challenges the very notion of what it takes to be a supercar.
Yet apparently the i8 almost didn't do that at all. Yes, it probably still would've had innovative assembly techniques, serious performance and come-hither bodywork, but according to a new report in the Telegraaf, it was very nearly a much more conventional beast, drawing its power from a V10 engine. According to the report, that line of development never got much beyond the drawing board, but BMW engineers then shifted their focus to both V8 and six-cylinder motivation, going so far as to build prototype cars. The higher cylinder-count engines were eventually dropped altogether after BMW decided to turn the i8 into a hybrid, with the six-cylinder reportedly nixed due to heat management and weight issues. In the end, of course, BMW went with the PHEV powertrain that offers a total system output of 362 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque - plenty of thrust for this lightweight, all-wheel drive coupe while still enabling an incredible 94 miles to the gallon on the EU cycle. Regardless of how it turned out, it's still fascinating to think that BMW didn't have a much firmer conceptual idea of what it was after when it started the i8's development.
Here at Autoblog, we're genuinely thrilled about this new generation of greener hybrid super- and hypercars, a movement spearheaded by the i8, Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1. But even so, our inner-gearheads can't help but wonder what might have been had BMW pursued a more conventional i8, either in place of, or in addition to, the car they did build. What do you think? Audi to spend $17 billion to fight BMW

Sat, 29 Dec 2012

It's no secret that VW Group, parent company to not only Volkswagen but also Audi, Bugatti, Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche and Ducati brands sold in the US, is determined to become the world's largest automaker. Even more impressive is that VW is prepared to spend billions to make it happen.
With that comes word that VW Group will be spending $17 billion on its Audi brand over the next three years to push itself above rival BMW. The money will be invested in both vehicle development (including lightweight auto design and alternative powertrains) and facilities (including expansion in Hungary, China and new operations in Mexico). The luxury brand is focused on global manufacturing infrastructure.
Already Europe's best-selling luxury brand, Audi's objective is to overtake BMW by the end of the decade by selling more than two million cars per year (BMW is shooting for 1.54 million sales in 2013). If those objectives are met, VW Group should be on track to be the industry's volume leader by 2018.
