There is one small ink spot on rear seat leather and some very light discoloration around the drink holders. Some very slight fading on a few spots on the leather front seats is due to normal wear(see photos). I try to be overly critical in my description but please be assured this is a beautiful car in fantastic condition. It is mechanically perfect."

My beautiful 128i Convertible is a real "head-turner" that gets shouts of "nice ride!" or the "thumbs up" signal just about every time I'm out!  Hate to let her go but with 4 kids plus hockey bags plus soccer gear, plus plus plus...gotta get something bigger.  I upgraded to 18" Continental Extreme Contact tires and new Faulken wheels earlier this year.

It has just about every option available as described above...and with the Steptronic tranny you've got the best of both worlds.  Stick it in manual mode and you can wind it out, up-shift, down-shift and really experience the thrill of a manual machine without worrying about a clutch.  But when that burger is in your lap and you have a cold coke in your hand it's nice to have the 6-speed automatic to make life easy.  The black soft top was replaced with a brand new one this past summer by BMW due to a faulty defrost wire in the back glass.  Yep, they replaced the whole thing under warranty.  Also the radio was replaced also under warranty due to some faded pixels...so a brand new radio too!  Gotta love BMW warranties.  Speaking of warranties, the factory warranty just expired at 50,000 miles but I have received numerous offers to extend the factory warranty out to 100,000 miles or 6 years if the new owner would want to take advantage of that.

I purchased the car with 27,000 miles on her from Luxor Automotive in Tampa, FL and have put almost 30,000 more on...and have enjoyed every single one of  'em!  The car is an absolute blast to drive!  And something about the color combination and wheels just seems really get to people.  I have all maintenance records from BMW service (as well as my receipts on the wheels and tires).

Although it looks almost brand new cruisin' down the road, as with any car that's 4 years old, it has some minor scratches/dings on the quarter panel, door and hood as shown in photos. There is one small ink spot on the rear seat leather and some very light discoloration around the drink holders.  Some very slight fading on a few spots on the leather front seats is due to normal wear (see photos).  As with any slightly oversize, low profile tire on a sports car, when the kids are in the back seat and we hit a significant bump in the road, you get a little tire rub noise from the wheel well.  I try to be overly critical in my description but please be assured this is a beautiful car in fantastic condition, both cosmetically and mechanically.

Please email me with any questions.  Thanks for looking!

Edit:  Wow!  Just noticed the low score that AutoCheck gave this vehicle and I just figured out why.  When you click on the Odometer issue link and dig into the details it looks like when I bought the car and registered in Tennessee, the TN DMV transposed the numbers and input 22,058 instead of the 27,053 that was listed on the paperwork from Florida.  Please check it out for yourself.  All due to some "gum smacker" typing too fast...Grrrr.....

So, how do you actually pronounce that automaker's name?

Thu, Jan 21 2016

You probably have that friend who always says Porsche wrong, or maybe it's someone who keeps reminding you it's actually two syllables. Whichever side of the pronunciation debate you fall on, you'll find someone to root for in the video above. And before you ask, this was all the video team's idea. So don't get mad at me for being the voice of reason. BMW Chevrolet Hyundai Nissan Rolls-Royce Videos Original Video nissan qashqai

BMW pondering hardcore M4 to celebrate 100 years?

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

2013 is the year for Lamborghini, Aston Martin and the Porsche 911, but 2016 will be the year for BMW. That's when the Munich-based maker of the Ultimate Driving Machine will celebrate its 100th birthday, with what will probably be a year-long celebration. Part of that 365-day party will, reportedly, be an even hotter version of the new BMW M4, which is set to debut in January at the Detroit Auto Show.
Yes, according to Australia's Car Sales, the über-M4 has been hinted at by higher-ups at BMW's M division, who claim the rear seats will be removed, much like the M3 GTS, while other weight-saving measures will be used to try and bring the M4's weight below 3,000 pounds. There's no mention of engine mods, but if the M4's biturbocharged six is as good as we think it'll be, that's not a deal-breaker for us.
The lightening process on the so-called M4 GTS would involve replacing the hood and front fenders with parts made of carbon fiber, while the doors would switch from steel to aluminum. Besides the deletion of the rear seats, Car Sales is predicting lightweight racing buckets, with a carbon-fiber shell and a minimal amount of padding. Expect lots and lots of Alcantara, in place of leather.

BMW M5 turns 30, celebrates sideways

Sun, 13 Apr 2014

BMW has a secret, and it's not telling. The brand's M Power blog is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the M5 and is taking a look back at previous models of its Autobahn-storming sedan, but it says that it will end "with a surprise." The celebration kicks off with a short video showing the latest M5 making some smoky donuts.
The original M5 debuted in 1985 and was the company's most expensive model at the time. Still, it packed a 3.5-liter six-cylinder generating a claimed 282 horsepower (286 PS), which was rather potent in its day. The company touted it as the world's fastest production four-door sports sedan at the time.
BMW won't reveal the surprise until it has chronicled all five generations of the M5, but it wouldn't be shocking to see an anniversary edition model appear sometime later this year. Scroll down to check out the video of the muscle sedan celebrating its birthday the only way it knows how.
