The condition of the exterior, interior and engine can vary depending on the vehicle's history. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"The car has no known mechanical defects, and has never had a mechanical problem in the past. All tires have been replaced since original purchase (are run-flat performance tires, and as you can see, are in good condition). The only important points of disclosure I would make would be that 1.) you're due for new brake pads pretty soon, and 2.) there are a few minor nicks/dings that could merit attention to bring it back up to KBB "Excellent" status."

This car has been a blast to own, but after moving in with my wife in the city it's questionable whether we need a car at all; much less two.  Please take this beast off my hands before I change my mind!

This car has had one owner, no accidents, only 32,000 miles, and garaged until 2 months ago.  Car has a steptronic transmission (incredibly smooth automatic shifting that can be switched to a simple manual control).    It's hilariously fast for what you might expect from the 1 series (search YouTube for "bmw 135i vs M3"!).  Engine is a 6-speed, 3.0L 6-Cylinder in-line with twin turbochargers.

The car also has the M sport package, moonroof, and a variety of other happy details that you'd expect from BMW like folding side-mirrors, premium sound, airbags everywhere, bluetooth, 8th inch cable for your ipod, phone/BMW assist (if you wanted to activate), push-button start, HID headlamps, and dual power, heated seats.  And basically gorgeous.  When properly cleaned up (as I've tried to keep it), you can expect a lot of comments.

Questions? Ask! Serious offers only please (much easier/nicer to go to a dealer and play with one of these new if you're just looking to try out a bimmer; that's what they're there for).  Price is firm.  Cheers.

BMW teases 2 Series Coupe ahead of October 25 debut

Sat, 19 Oct 2013

Although it was finally just confirmed that the last of the BMW 1 Series coupes and convertibles went out of production months ago, we won't have to wait very long to see this model's replacement, the all-new 2 Series. BMW released a teaser video for its new coupe today and also announced that the 2 Series will officially debut on October 25.
We may still have to wait until the Detroit Auto Show to see it up close and in person, even though both the Los Angeles Auto Show and Tokyo Motor Show are nearly upon us. Either way, it's not clear when the 2 Series will roll into dealerships. Considering we've already seen the coupe sitting out mostly undisguised for a photo shoot, there really isn't much to see in terms of styling of the car in this sun-drenched, dirt-slinging teaser. BMW does say that this is the first trailer ahead of the 2 Series' unveiling, so there are likely to be more to follow the video seen below.

Meet the inventor of the BMW 3 Series wagon

Sat, 11 May 2013

It's hard to imagine, but once upon a time, there were only two BMW 3 Series variants: the coupe and sedan. Back before gran coupes, convertibles and yes, even touring models were available, buyers could only get their 3 Series fix if it came with two or four doors and a fixed roof. Back in the mid '80s, BMW engineer Max Reisbock was having some trouble fitting his whole family into his four door. Rather than suck it up and buy a van, he picked up a wrecked 3 Series and got to cutting in a buddy's garage. Months later, he had the very first 3 Series Touring ever built.
At first, he kept the the car to himself, using it to haul friends and family around, but he eventually showed it off to his friends at work. When the BMW executives found out about his project, they called him up to take a closer look. After putting an eyeball on the car, they took it, copied his design, made a few tweaks and quickly rolled out the first production 3 Series Touring. How's that for validation? Check out the video below for Reisbock's story.

A BMW i3 will cost you $100,000 in Brazil

Wed, Oct 1 2014

Brazil is a long way from the US, and the price of the BMW i3 in that South American country is even further away from what Americans pay for the same electric vehicle. But that hasn't stopped a few wealthy Brazilians from taking the plunge. The BMW i3 REx – i.e., the one with the gas-powered range-extender – is the first mass-produced vehicle of its kind to be imported to Brazil (there are a few Nissan Leaf vehicles in fleet use), and those intrepid buyers are forking over about $100,000 to own the vehicle, according to Just-Auto. The country's first 100 i3's were recently received in Sao Paolo, and about 30 of them have been sold. That pricetag is a wee bit higher than in the US, where the i3 starts under $42,000. BMW did open a $261-million factory in Brazil this year, but the i3 continues to be produced exclusively in Germany. It's not just fancy new plug-in cars and World Cup tickets that cost a lot in Brazil. The Volkswagen Golf, which retails for less than $18,000 in the States, costs about $23,000 in Brazil and the Economist ran a series of articles last year explaining how currency changes have resulted in the dollar-to-Brazilian real exchange rate surging in recent years.
