2009 Bmw 135i Coupe M-sport Pkg No Reserve 3.0l Twin Turbo 19" Auto Paddle Shift on 2040-cars
Peoria, Illinois, United States
So which do you think is faster 0-60, the legendary e46 M3 or the little ol' 135i? Might surprise you to learn that this pocket rocket hits 60 mph in 4.8 seconds with a hilariously under-rated 300 hp and 300 ft-lbs of torque from the twin-scroll turbocharged I-6.
This is a great opportunity to own a low mileage, fast as hell BMW for less than it would cost to buy a new Honda Civic. I purchased this car off lease from BMW of Macon. All service has been done under warranty at BMW dealerships. The first owner was an older gentleman who kept this at his summer home in Savannah, GA and barely drove it. I purchased it in 2012; I'm a college professor who has treated it like a baby since I purchased it in 2012. You'd be hard-pressed to tell that this is a used car based on the interior (black MB-Tex upholstery, aluminum trim). The exterior (Montego Blue Metallic paint) is beautiful, recently machine-polished, with minimal signs of wear and tear. No dents, no rust, no paintwork or replaced body panels. No accidents. Great audio system with AUX in and crystal clear Bluetooth phone system. M-Sport package with 19" aluminum rims and factory body kit. 41115 (may not be exact mileage when car is sold, still being driven on occasion in town). Private seller, no dealership fees. In SOME areas there are no sales taxes paid on private party sales, but that depends on your local laws. All sales taxes as well as title, license, registration, etc fees are the buyer's responsibility. I will work with the buyer to facilitate shipping if necessary, with ALL shipping costs paid by the buyer. $500 deposit required within 48 hours of purchase and remainder of payment within 5 days of auction end. NO RESERVE - high bid will take it. As a private party, I cannot accept trade-ins or offer financing - that is the responsibility of the buyer. Payment must be made in certified funds, preferably a cashier's check or wire transfer (transfer fees paid by buyer. Local pickup preferred, and I can bring the car to Peoria (PIA) or Bloomington-Normal (BMI) airports for out-of-area buyers. Questions? Please ask. However, I will NOT accept offers lower than the minimum bid, so I will not respond to those inquiries. |

Are you a BMW M4 GTS track car in disguise?
Wed, 10 Sep 2014BMW is always happy to extract a little bit more gumption out of its M cars, just look at the latest 30th anniversary M5 or even the earlier CSL variants of the M3 for proof. Now, It looks like we might be getting the first glimpse of an even hotter M4, and it's wearing very interesting livery.
Our spies recently shot this M4 that could preview a future GTS version. It's all done up in MotoGP decals, but that might just be a ruse. This car sports a camouflaged lower air dam and rear wing, but those parts don't appear to be from an actual series safety car. The chin spoiler seems larger, and the rear wing is completely different. You can also spot an obvious Recaro logo on the driver's seat in one of the photos. Plus, the BMW emblem is removed at the back.
The disguised changes and odd choice of decals make this prototype incredibly weird. A BMW exec said at the beginning of the year that there were "no plans whatsoever to make a lighter, harder version just yet," of the M3 or M4, despite earlier rumors to the contrary. Check out the gallery to see what you think this is.
Automakers want to stop the EPA's fuel economy rules change, and why that's a shortsighted move
Tue, Dec 6 2016With a Trump Administration looming, the EPA moved quickly after the election to propose finalizing future fuel economy rules last week. The auto industry doesn't like that (surprise), and has started making moves to stop the EPA. Ford CEO Mark Fields said he wanted to lobby Trump to lower the standards, and now the Auto Alliance, a manufacturer group, is saying it will join the fight against cleaner cars. The Alliance represents 12 automakers: BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, GM, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Toyota, VW, and Volvo. Gloria Bergquist, a spokesperson for the Alliance, told Automotive News that the "EPA's sudden and controversial move to propose auto regulations eight months early - even after Congress warned agencies about taking such steps while political appointees were packing their bags - calls out for congressional action to pause this rulemaking until a thoughtful policy review can occur." The EPA was going to consider public comments through April 2017, but then said it would move the deadline to the end of December. That means that it can finalize the rules before President Obama leaves office. The director of public affairs for the Consumer Federation of America, Jack Gillis, said on a conference call with reporters last week when the EPA originally announced its decision that it is unlikely that President Trump will be able to roll back these changes. Gillis also said on the same call that any attempt by the automakers to prevent these changes would be history repeating itself. "These are the same companies that fought airbags, and now promoting the fact that every car has multiple airbags," he said. "These are the same companies that fought the crash-test program, and now are promoting the crash-test ratings published by the government. So, it's clear that they're misperceiving the needs of the American consumer." There are more reasons the Allliance's pushback is flawed. Carol Lee Rawn, the transportation program director for Ceres, said on that call that the automotive industry is a global one, and many automakers are moving to global platforms to help them meet strict fuel economy rules around the world.
BMW expects China to pass US as its top market in 2013
Thu, 11 Jul 2013When you combine two billion citizens, 100 cities with more than a million inhabitants and an economy that's as unrestrained as Jim Cramer on an Adderall binge, China's explosive auto industry growth shouldn't be a huge surprise. Audi already lists the communist country as its largest market, while Mercedes-Benz is expecting it to be there in the next few years. Now, according to a report from Automotive News, BMW is expecting the People's Republic to overtake the United States in sales by the end of 2013.
We already discovered the extent that BMW is going to in establishing a dedicated Chinese stronghold, when we explored BMW's Shanghai-based DesignWorks studio ahead of April's Shanghai Motor Show. And while we argued that DesignWorks Shanghai hasn't really borne fruit, it isn't due to a lack of sales.
BMW China has seen a 16-percent jump in year-over-year sales, lead by a 28-percent gain in 5 Series sales. Part of BMW's growth strategy comes from an ever-expanding dealership network. Remember those 100 cities we mentioned with over one million people? According to Karsten Engel, CEO of BMW's Chinese operations, those 100-million-plus city dwellers don't have access to a premium dealership.
