What you missed on 9.9.14
Tue, 09 Sep 2014Say hello to the Mercedes-AMG GT
Benz's Porsche 911-fighter is here, in the form of the 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT. It looks killer, and comes packed with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 producing either 503 horsepower in GT S form, or 456 hp in standard GT guise. The slick new coupe launches next year, and we can't wait to drive it. For now, check out the full details about the stunning new two-door, here.
Say goodbye to the Volkswagen Eos
Volkswagen Eos, we hardly knew ye. After only seven years on the market, VW is discontinuing its hardtop convertible, and its swan song is this Final Edition – a special, decidedly expensive package, only available for the Eos' last year on sale. Contributor Jonathon Ramsey spent some time with the Final Eos in Virginia and accurately sums up why it's time to put the Eos to sleep. Read his full thoughts in our Quick Spin.
BMW 2 Series takes its top off
The car gods giveth, and the car gods taketh away. Instead of mourning the loss of the Volkswagen Eos, check out this new four-seat, topless entry from BMW – the 2 Series Convertible. Launching in the same 228i and M235i trims as the coupe, the 'vert takes everything we already like about the 2 Series and adds that lovely wind-in-your-hair experience. Get the full details ahead of the car's Paris Motor Show launch, here.
