Ford EcoSport Storm concept swallows a Raptor in Sao Paulo

Ford rolled into the Sao Paulo Motor Show with some pretty cool crossovers in tow, the awesomest of all being the EcoSport Storm concept shown above, which draws its inspiration directly from the F-150 SVT Raptor. It packs a lower grille clearly derived from the now-famous muscle truck, as well as a Blue Storm paint job, black and silver trim, special graphics, lower body cladding and 215/75 R15 off-road tires. Don't go holding your breath for a supercharged V8, though; made locally in Brazil, India and Thailand, the tiny EcoSport is typically powered by a three- or four-cylinder engine.

The Storm isn't the only specially prepared Ecosport on show, however, joined as it is by another pair called Beauty and the Beast. Beauty is decked out in matte copper with a black roof, LED fog lamps, 18-inch wheels with low-profile tires and an interior complete with four individual bucket seats, leather upholstery and a full multimedia suite. The Beast, meanwhile, takes a sportier approach with a white pearl finish, blue and orange trim and three-bar grille. It also wears 18-inch wheels and LED fog lamps, but its interior swaps out its rear seats for a bike rack.

Joining the EcoSport show cars was an Edge crossover equipped with all the latest technologies and done up in bright red with three-bar grille, bulging hood, and an interior featuring 10-inch touchscreens and leather upholstery. Feel free to read more in the press release below.

A Ford, além de lançamentos traz criações especiais e um conceito de grande repercussão mundial para o Salão de São Paulo. O Edge Concept antecipa as tendências de design e tecnologia do futuro modelo de produção do crossover de luxo da Ford. Há também três carros-show do EcoSport que mostram a capacidade, versatilidade e possibilidades de customização do utilitário esportivo líder de mercado.

A versão Storm, inspirada na picape F-150 Raptor, foi criada para transmitir força e poder, a começar pela grade de perfil agressivo. A pintura na cor "Storm Blue", com detalhes em preto e prata, é completada por grafismo especial nas laterais. Os pneus lameiros medida 215/75 R15, as molduras dos para-lamas e o protetor dianteiro reforçam seu perfil off-road.

Os outros dois modelos criados pelo departamento de Design da América do Sul seguem o tema "Beauty and The Beast", destacando o contraste entre luxo e esportividade. O Beauty faz uma releitura do veículo com proposta sofisticada e urbana. Essas características são destacadas pela pintura especial em cobre fosco metálico "Stardust Copper", com grafismos e detalhes contrastantes, teto preto, faróis de neblina em LED e rodas de 18" com pneus de perfil baixo 235/40 R18. O interior traz quatro bancos individuais em estilo poltrona revestidos em couro, telas de DVD nos encostos e central multimídia com GPS.

A versão The Beast realça a esportividade do EcoSport, com carroceria branca perolizada "Speed White", detalhes contrastantes em azul e laranja, grade dianteira de três barras, faróis de neblina com quatro LEDs e rodas aro 18" com pneus 235/60 R18. A entrada de ar no capô transmite força, assim como a iluminação adicional de LEDs no teto. O interior claro e tecnológico tem central multimídia com GPS e suportes para bicicletas no lugar dos bancos traseiros.

Edge Concept

A Ford foi a marca que criou o segmento de crossovers – veículos que combinam o desempenho e robustez de um utilitário com o conforto dos carros de luxo – e agora mostra como será o seu futuro, com o Edge Concept. Além de design de linhas esculpidas, fluidas e atléticas, o modelo incorpora tecnologias de assistência e sensores que tornam o veículo mais inteligente, formando a base para a futura direção autônoma.

Uma delas é o estacionamento totalmente automático, tecnologia protótipo baseada no estacionamento automático atual da Ford – disponível hoje em modelos como Fusion e Focus. O sistema encontra vagas perpendiculares usando sensores ultrassônicos e permite ao motorista estacionar o veículo ao toque de um botão, ou pelo controle remoto, esperando do lado de fora que ele faça a manobra.

O Edge Concept traz também sistema de detecção de obstáculos, capaz de desviar e frear o veículo para evitar uma colisão se o motorista não responder aos alertas, e direção elétrica adaptativa, que facilita manobras em baixa velocidade. Sem contar tecnologias já existentes, como sistema de manutenção na faixa, sistema de monitoramento de pontos cegos e piloto automático adaptativo com alerta de colisão e suporte de frenagem.

A carroceria na cor "Copper Flame" exibe grade dianteira de três barras, capô musculoso e compacto, faróis e lanternas de LED. O interior tem tela "touch screen" de 10 polegadas, bússola, painel revestido em couro preto, bancos de couro com textura especial de cor clara e detalhes contrastantes de cor cobre no painel de instrumentos e carpetes. Para aumentar a economia de combustível, seu motor EcoBoost é equipado com tecnologia start-stop e grade do radiador com fechamento ativo.

Ford, plus special creations and launchings brings a concept of great worldwide repercussions for the Hall of São Paulo. The Edge Concept anticipates design trends and future production model of the luxury crossover Ford technology. The Storm version, inspired by the F-150 Raptor pickup, was created to convey strength and power, starting with the grid aggressive profile. The paint in the color "Blue Storm", with details in black and silver, is supplemented by special graphics on the sides. The air intake on the hood conveys strength, as well as additional lighting LEDs in the ceiling. The interior has clear technological and multimedia central with GPS and bike racks in place of the rear seats.

Edge Concept

Ford was the brand that created the segment crossovers - vehicles that combine the performance and robustness of a utility with the comfort of luxury cars - and now shows how it will turn out, with Edge Concept. One is the prototype fully automatic parking technology based on the current automatic parking Ford - available now as Fusion and Focus models.
