AC Schnitzer ACS4 Sport packs 510 hp under a subdued carbon fiber bodykit

Wed, Mar 4 2015 One of the interesting things about the Geneva Motor Show is the breadth of the European auto industry that it covers. Beyond just the stands from major manufacturers and boutique marques, the event also hosts the regions top tuners. Among them this year are the BMW specialists AC Schnitzer, with myriad upgrades for the M4. By the time the company is done, the coupe gets renamed the ACS4 Sport.

The M4 is already a potent machine with its 431-horsepower, turbocharged inline-six, but for customers willing to spend the money, more performance is always possible. AC Schnitzer's engine upgrade takes power up to 510 hp and 476 pound-feet of torque, and buyers can also add a new exhaust with carbon-fiber-surrounded tail pipes barely protruding from the rear. The company offers two suspension kits, as well. The first lowers the BMW by 1.0-1.2 inches in front and 0.4-0.6 inches in the rear. However, for drivers who really want to scrape the ground, an adjustable racing option drops the front by 1.2-1.6 inches and the back by 1.2 inches.

Of course, AC Schnitzer's buyers also want to show off their cars' added performance, and the company is ready with a host of carbon fiber pieces. Up front, there's a new front spoiler, splitter and side flicks, and the rear is available with a diffuser, roof spoiler and fixed rear wing. A wide variety of wheels finish off the sporty look, including the brand's AC1 BiColor twin-spoke design offered in forged or standard versions. Get a full look at the German tuners fairly tasteful upgrades in our gallery from the show floor, above.
?"Man, Machine & More" – The M4 by AC Schnitzer Aachen-based tuning experts open new dimensions in the field of Motorsport power

Man, machine & more - The tuning experts at AC Schnitzer have given the BMW M4 with Motorsport power a further kick of energy. Once again, the Aachen-based tuning specialists have shown that there's no upper limit to power and sporting performance.

To build up the muscle power of the BMW M4, AC Schnitzer has provided a performance upgrade containing of an additional control unit which increases the performance from 431 to 510 hp, and from 550 to 645 Nm. Scope of delivery of every AC Schnitzer performance upgrade includes always a two years guarantee which can be upgraded up to three years.

After a visit to the Aachen workshops, the powerful energy combustion developed with the AC Schnitzer "Efficient Performance" know-how is also revealed in the exhaust of the M4. The AC Schnitzer silencer with valve control, with and without sound pipe (export version), with two "Racing Evo Carbon" tailpipe trims in right/left combination or with two "Sport" tailpipe trims on each side, provides the sound which makes the heart of every tuning fan beat faster: power and sporting performance in its purest form.

And what can't be heard must be felt. With the AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit (lowering by around 25-30 mm at the front and 10-15 mm at the rear), or with the racing suspension adjustable in compression and rebound, including lowering of 30-40 mm at the front and around 30 mm at
???the rear, it's clear to every sporting M4 driver that the true racing feeling can only come from Aachen. And that it can be enhanced by choosing products from the aerodynamic package at any level:

The basis for the aerodynamic pack is the carbon front spoiler elements, which can be fitted both individually and as a basis for the racing bodykit.

In stage two, the carbon front spoiler elements are supplemented by the new AC Schnitzer racing front splitter. This further improves downforce on the front of the M4 and ensures a better track
?position.

The final version of the AC Schnitzer front aerodynamic pack for the M4 includes the carbon front side wings. These are mounted on the front skirt in pairs on the right and left (4 pieces in the set). This arrangement improves air flow along the vehicle sides, further optimizing downforce on the front axle.

All components of the aerodynamic pack for the front of the BMW M4 are available individually, as a complete set, or in any combination.

?A range of aerodynamic components is also available for the rear of the M4. Starting with the carbon rear diffuser, a rear roof spoiler and the carbon rear wing which is available in both homologated and racing versions, the emphasis on the vehicle rear is again on "downforce". Carbon mirror covers and a rear skirt protective film complete the extensive product range.

The stylish and functional theme continues into the interior design: AC Schnitzer aluminium pedal set and foot rests, AC Schnitzer keyholder, gear knob with digital gear display or aluminium "Black Line" gear knob, aluminium "Black Line" handbrake handle, aluminium cover for the iDrive controller and velours foot mats are available to adapt the interior of the vehicle to its powerful performance and sporting elegance.
?
?The tuning package by AC Schnitzer is completed with a complementary wheel range for the motorsport enthusiast.

With the new AC1 BiColor rims, AC Schnitzer has reinterpreted the classic twin-spoke design. The result is a sporting hybrid look. In a sophisticated style, triangle tips taper towards the rim edge and widen towards the centre, separated by five trapezoids. These draw the eye directly to the unique classic element of the AC1 rim: the pentagonal hub cap with AC Schnitzer logo.

The AC1 wheels are available for the BMW M4 as lightweight forged alloys in 20 inch, and as alloy rims in 19 and 20 inch.

In addition, Type VIII forged alloys, racing forged alloys and alloy rims in BiColor black, silver or anthracite, Type V forged alloys in BiColor or anthracite, and Type IV rims in BiColor black are available up to size 21 inch with corresponding tyres.

Man and machine: an unbeatable team.
