edit: After posting it I see Autocheck gave it a 'minor issue'.  But if you click the AutoCheck history you can see it's a non-issue.  The car has had no accidents or title issues.  O'Gara (Bentley of Beverly Hills) sold it with 19,716 miles.  I transferred the title to my LLC when it had 22,727 miles, and then Bentley re-reported the CPO warranty contract with the LLC, but with the original 19,716 miles when the contract was originally signed.  It seems AutoCheck is counting that as an 'odometer rollback', but if you check the full history, that is the only issue, and it's not correct.  O'Gara can confirm it's been serviced regularly, and the odometer has never been rolled back.

I made this HD video with slow driveby’s showing the perfect condition:

Triple black: Jet black exterior, black leather, and piano black high-gloss wood

  • No bodywork
  • No dings or damage.  Still looks showroom new
  • Leather is perfect and buttery soft, and everything you touch is leather.  The headliner, dashboard, all the door panels, pillars, and consoles.  Everything is hand-stitched leather
  • Loaded: parking sensors, navigation, Bluetooth for both the phone and audio, as well as an iPod and MP3 connector
  • New-style key with push to start and keyless entry
  • Paid for, title in hand
  • New brakes & tires, the major 6 year service was completed last year.
  • Serviced at O’Gara coach of Beverly Hills.  Largest Bentley dealer.

It was a certified pre-owned with a 3-year factory bumper-to-bumper warranty, which just expired in March.  In March, O’Gara went through the car in detail to find any issues that could be replaced under warranty.  There was a slow leak in the air suspension system, which is the only major problem in these cars, so O’Gara replaced both front sides under warranty, and said the suspension will still be covered by Bentley’s new parts warranty even after the warranty expires.  In 3 years, that was the only repair to the car.  Remember that although the body and leather and wood is pure Bentley, hand-made in Crewe, England, the drivetrain is essentially shared with the Audi A8 W12.  You get the styling and luxury of a Bentley, and the reliability of a German car.

Used Bentley’s are rather affordable since, unlike most cars that depreciate down to zero, Bentley prices level off and do not depreciate much after 5 or 6 years.  My total cost of ownership the past 3 years including depreciation, repairs and maintenance has only been about $417/month (not counting the tires and brakes).

The car has an insane 552 horsepower, and does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds.  All wheel drive gives the car incredible traction, so it goes where you point it with never any drama.  The ride quality is uniquely Bentley.  The all aluminum body is lighter and more agile than one would expect for such a car.

Bentley Continental GT commemorating Pikes Peak win is one green machine

Tue, Dec 3 2019

Back in June, the Bentley Continental GT set a production-car record for the Pikes Peak hill climb, and now there's a limited edition to celebrate. Maybe the wait was so the brand's Mulliner division could work up a batch of the car's special green paint, which Bentley calls Radium. The green hue is taken from the hill climb car's livery, and it appears not only on the body, but also on the Pirelli P Zero tires and inside as contrast stitching, floor mat edging, and embroidery of Pikes Peak on the headrests. The not-quite-matching color on the brake calipers is Bentley's Acid Green. Besides Radium, the model also is offered in black. The special edition also features Pikes Peak graphics on the front fenders, a carbon fiber body kit, a black roof panel, black side mirrors, and 22-inch wheels also in black. Buyers can opt for Bentley's "100" grille (honoring the brand's centenary year), as pictured here. Besides the Radium green accents, the interior also comes with carbon fiber and gloss-black trim. A graphic showing one of five different sections of the track appears above the glove box, along with the record time of 10:18.488. Bentley's rotating center display also is included along with comfort-spec front seats and deep pile floor mats. All of the cars will be fitted with the 626-hp W12 engine. Pricing for the Pikes Peak limited edition depends on buyer specification, so there's no official MSRP. Nor is there a specific model name. But Bentley is saying that only 15 cars with this special set of extras will be built, and even without a name, it shouldn't be hard to distinguish them from other Continental GTs.

Bentley Continental 24 is for those who find the Supersports too common

Wed, May 24 2017

Bentley is no stranger to special-edition models. Some are like the Bentayga Falconry by Mulliner, a tasteful rolling tribute to the sport of kings. Others, such as the new Bentley Continental 24, are aimed at a slightly less conservative customer base. The Continental 24, built to commemorate the British automaker's return to the 24 Hours Nurburgring, is big, bright, and slightly less subdued than other Bentleys. As they say, different strokes for different folks. The entire run will be limited to 24 cars, obviously. The full allocation is slated just for Europe, but we're sure with enough cash Bentley can make something similar available stateside. The car is based on the new 700 horsepower Bentley Continental GT Supersports, the fastest road-going Bentley ever. In addition to the horsepower, the Supersports' W12 engine turns out 750 lb-ft of torque and, thanks to the titanium exhaust, enough noise to drown out all the haters at the local country club. The most obvious feature on the Continental 24 is the bright Monaco Yellow or St. James Red over Black Crystal paint scheme, done up similar to the Bentley Team ABT Continental GT3 race cars. The paintwork even carries to the 21-inch forged wheels, with body-matching paint filling the spokes. The exterior is finished with carbon-fiber mirrors, black brake calipers, and black brightware in place of chrome. The two-tone theme carries on inside the Continental 24, with either yellow or red accenting the nearly all black trim and upholstery. Black Alcantara seats are stitched with contrasting diamond patterns. Yellow or red sweep around and flank the cabin. As expected, the headrests are emblazoned with "Continental 24." Unsurprisingly, exclusivity doesn't come cheap. Deliveries begin in July with prices starting at ˆ250,000, or about $280,600. It's probably got a wider appeal than the admittedly niche Bentayga Falconry. Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
