Bentley Bentayga leaks out in miniature form

Want to know what the completed, production-ready Bentley Bentayga will look like? So do we all, and we've had some pretty good glimpses at it already. But this could be our best look at the finished form yet. Leaking out in China are images not of the vehicle itself, but of a 1:18 scale model of Bentley's forthcoming inaugural sport-ute. And though that may not tell us precisely what it'll look like in full scale, it ought to give us a pretty darn accurate preview. Particularly given the detailed measurements with which these model manufacturers have to work. The design is pretty much as you might expect it to look. That is to say proportions typical of a full-size Volkswagen Group crossover like the Touareg, Audi Q7, or Porsche Cayenne. Bentley design cues set it apart: four round headlights up front flanking an upright mesh grille, side vents on the front fenders, a tasteful smattering of chrome trim, and big wheels. Looks like it'll have a pretty big glass roof, too. Or put another way, it looks like a toned-down version of the EXP 9 F concept that divided opinions when it debuted back at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. One way or another, we're expected to see the beast in the flesh (or the machine in the metal) at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month, so it won't be long now. Xcar luxuriates in the Bentley Mulsanne Speed

The difference between a Bentley and a Rolls-Royce, they say, is that you drive a Bentley, but you're driven in a Rolls-Royce. In this latest video, however, Xcar drives a different kind of Bentley. One that aims to challenge that notion. We're speaking of the Mulsanne, but not of just any ordinary Mulsanne – as if a $300k limousine could ever be considered "ordinary." No, this is the Mulsanne Speed, the amped-up version of Bentley's rival to the Rolls-Royce Phantom. In creating the Mulsanne Speed, the crew at Crewe took a vehicle in which you'd want to be driven, then tunes it for the driver. The ultimate Bentley, then? We certainly found enough to love (and then some) when we drove it this past November, but to find out what the cinematographical artisans at Xcar have to say about it, you'll want to watch the video above.

Bentley Continental GT art car is meant to move while standing still

Art cars are always cause for interest, so when a Bentley “art car” pops up, we take notice. This particular Bentley wasnÂ’t commissioned by the folks in Crewe, but instead by a dealership in the U.K. named Jack Barclay Bentley. The art on the car was applied via a wrap over a black paint job, and itÂ’s the work of Icelandic artist Katrin Fridriks. A new Continental GT was the canvas for this work, and there is an explanation as to the motivations of the artist. The piece is part of FridriksÂ’ “Speed of Light — Commander” show. Its design is meant to give the car a sense of speed and motion even when sitting still. Only black, white and gray were used. HereÂ’s what is said about the art in the official write-up from the dealership: “Utilising an exceptionally limited color palette between black and white, the artistÂ’s intervention allows the bold, hand-crafted lines of the car to come through her energetic liquid shapes. The abstract organic forms applied on the elegant surface of the powerful vehicle are following its impeccable design, accenting its raw performance and motion. Starting with harmonious flowing marks in the front and accelerating towards splattering paint on the back, she is offering a different and unique appearance of the car depending on the variety of viewing points.” The language used is rather flowery, but what else should we expect from Bentley? Jack Barclay Bentley also happens to be the oldest Bentley dealer in existence, having sold Bentleys for 92 years now. This car will be on display at the dealership in London's Mayfair district until Oct. 7 before itÂ’s sent on a number of special events with JD Malat Gallery.
