FOR IMMEDIATE SALE BY PRIVATE OWNER

2002 Bentley Arnage 'T' - 6.75 litre twin turbo engine developing 450 horsepower and 645 pounds of torque. The Arnage 'T' 0-60 mph time is 5.5 seconds with a top speed of 170 miles per hour. This was the fastest car Bentley ever produced at the time and still remains one of the fastest sedans in the world, even weighing in at 5,800 pounds. The original manufacturer's retail price was $245,000. This is a beautifully appointed 4 door sedan, seemlessly combining sport and luxury, allowing the driver to cruise effortlessly at speed or experience the intense power unleashed with the engagement of the "Sport" button. Engaging the "Sport" button lowers the vehicle and resets the suspension and transmission for much more aggressive driving.

Finished in a glass smooth BLACK exterior with a handsome GRAY interior. It has a stunning and commanding presence. Materials such as leather, wood veneer and engine-turned aluminum trim result in a distinguished and sporting interior environment for driver and passenger alike. There are a few hairline interior wood veneer cracks that are hardly visible and are very common over time. The wheel rims are beautiful and have no curb rash, although there are two very minor small light scratches that are barely noticeable.

Well maintained and kept in a climate controlled garage. Currently showing 17,558 original documented miles on the odometer, the car will be driven in the interim. Expect slightly higher mileage when sold. Mulliner trim interior, factory privacy side and rear windows, two engine turned aluminum and wood veneer pull down writing tables for the rear compartment, electric adjustable heated front and reclining heated rear seats, factory Alpine remote navigation system, factory Alpine radio with multiple disc CD player, power sunroof, rear compartment air conditioning and heating, parking sensors and alarm system. Bentley jewel filler cap, factory Bentley rear license plate frame and Bentley umbrella, bespoke exterior black trim. Original vehicle books, tools, manuals and two remotes for the radio and navigation system as well as 2 factory Bentley keys will be included. This is a smoke free vehicle.

Recent service and maintenance included: Four NEW Pirelli P-Zero tires installed and balanced by Bentley, front suspension bushings, upper and lower ball joints and boots, sway bar link arms, 'check engine' light resolved and reset, new batteries with trickle charger and a four wheel Bentley alignment, and oil change and filter. All work was completed by Euro Motorcars Bentley, a factory authorized Bentley dealer. Service records and highly scored Carfax and Auto Check vehicle history reports provided. Virginia state inspection and emissions are current. All power equipment is functioning properly.

Car is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. An independent inspection by a Rolls Royce or Bentley mechanic is welcome at buyer's expense. I have the recent Carfax report from August 10, 2013 and will email you a copy if requested at no charge. Title is in hand with no bank payoff for an easy ownership transfer. Relocating with short notice and no garage.

Jay Leno's 1930 Bentley GJ 400 is a 27-liter monster

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Jay Leno's Garage never fails to impress - and by that we mean both the YouTube channel and the actual place. The latest online bit features another truly insane vehicle. Leno's 1930 Bentley GJ 400 isn't actually a classic car and has few Bentley parts on it. It's really a modern custom with vintage looks and a 27-liter Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine for power. This machine is absolutely immense, and weighs over three tons.
The Merlin engine was one the workhorses of World War II-era planes. In the GJ 400, Leno believes the V12 is making around 650-700 horsepower. Although, he admits that it could probably be pushed to over 1,000 if someone wanted to. However, he clearly loves this behemoth just the way it is.
While the design is classic, the mechanicals are relatively modern. The engine is fuel injected, and power routes through an automatic transmission to the rear wheels. Many of the updated pieces are hidden as well. For example, what looks like a blower at the front actually disguises an oil cooler.

Bentley's idea of future luxury includes holographic butler

Tue, Apr 12 2016

Anybody can daydream, and British carmaker Bentley is no exception. Their vision of an autonomous luxury car is taken so far into the future that it will come with a hologram of a butler. This isn't just a fan-made, Photoshopped image designed to stir a little fantasy, but an official image released by Bentley depicting what their cars might look twenty years from now. The "Future of Luxury" concept image is the work of Bentley's design team, headed by German Stefan Sielaff. Sielaff has worked with Audi and Volkswagen interior design for decades, with a short interim over at Mercedes-Benz's Interior Competence Center. Sielaff has been at Bentley since 2015, and his team is hard at work conceiving the direction of luxury cars in the semi-distant future. Even if Bentley is traditionally closer to Alec Guinness than Princess Leia, a holographic interface is an interesting glimpse into the science fiction thought process of today's car design. Other touches seen in the interior concept image have to do with mood lighting, screensaver-style images displayed on the side panels, and a touchscreen music interface that appears to display Beck's 2005 album Guero. Still, 2036 isn't that far in the future that a Bentley passenger wouldn't take the time to write a few letters by hand. Bentley GT3-R is the most hardcore road-going Continental yet

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

A factory-entered Bentley hadn't won a top tier race in the UK for 84 years when the Continental GT3 recently took victory in the second round of the Blancpain Endurance Series at Silverstone. It was an early success for a racer that only hit the track competitively for the first time late last year at the Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi. To capitalize on the potent platform, Bentley is bringing it to the street with the limited-edition Continental GT3-R.
Limited to just 300 units worldwide, this bruiser starts as any other Continental GT on the assembly line in Crewe, England, but then Bentley Motorsport get ahold of it to painstakingly improve its performance. Like the racer, GT3-R uses the 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8, and here, power is cranked up to 572 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, 51 hp and 14 lb-ft better than the GT V8 S. The muscle is routed through an eight-speed automatic gearbox from ZF with shortened gearing and a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring for the rear wheels. The weight also comes down over 200 pounds from the V8 S to 4,839 pounds. Bentley claims all the tweaks are enough to hustle the GT3-R to 60 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds, on to an estimated top speed of 170 mph.
To handle all that power, an air suspension holds up all four corners, and the brakes use carbon silicon carbide discs for plentiful stopping power. A titanium exhaust saves an additional 15 pounds of weight, and Bentley promises that it gives the car a baritone growl.
