Witness the Prologue to Audi's design future [w/videos]

Audi went Hollywood for its debut of the forward-looking Prologue concept car last night, pulling the silks back at a sprawling LA manse in the hills. The cost-no-object unveiling of the car, as well as its prominent positioning at this year's LA Auto Show, speaks to the importance with which the company views the styling you see here.
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, maharishi of development for the three-rings brand, made two important announcements at the presentation: reiterating publicly his endorsement of new styling chief Marc Lichte, and telling us that Prologue design will be found on upcoming production versions of the A6, A7 and A8.
Take a close look at that imposing face on the Prologue - an amped up revision of the single-frame shield grille that has appeared on new models like the TT already - and get used to it. Lichte called out the grille as the new face of the brand, so we fully expect its deployment across the range as the 2016 models roll out.

NHTSA awards Audi A3 and S3 sedans five stars

The Audi A3 and S3 sedans aced the New Car Assessment Program tests run by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, each scoring five stars overall. The A3 sedan adds this latest five-star rating to its Top Safety Pick+ award bestowed upon it by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety earlier this year, and Audi says it's the only Euro premium luxury compact to do that double. The only place either car dropped a single star was for a male driver in the frontal barrier test and in the rollover test. It's clear from the lengthening list of top marks – and its list of safety technology – that it's among the safest sedans you can buy. Audi building 50 camouflaged Jon Olsson Edition A4 Avant wagons [w/video]

Swedish Autoblog readers, have you been driving your Audi A4 Avant wagons and thought, 'You know, I really wish my car looked more like a camouflaged World War II battleship?' Well, great news for you, as skier and Audi enthusiast Jon Olsson has teamed up with the German brand's Swedish outfit to offer this new limited-edition A4 Avant.
Finished in a camo patterned after Olsson's own RS6 Avant (which you can view in the video below) and slope-ready Lamborghini Gallardo, the Jon Olsson Camo Edition will cost fans of Smörgåsbord 399,900 Swedish Krona ($62,071 at today's rates). For that sum, you'll get the aforementioned A4 Avant wrapped in the Olsson-designed camo, as well as sport seats, a roof box, Xenon headlights, black 19-inch wheels shod in winter rubber, a sport suspension and Audi's S-Line exterior treatment. The Camo Edition will only be available with the 2.0-liter TDI engine and Quattro all-wheel drive.
There will only be 50 examples made, so we'd strongly recommend interested parties get down to their local Swedish Audi dealer.
