2001 Silver Audi TT Quattro Coupe, 225HP. AWD. 93,169 miles. Leather seats. Heated seats. Multiple CD premium sound system. Good condition. No accidents. Non-smoker vehicle. Recent service includes an oil change, new brakes and rotors, and front tires. NO RESERVE auction. Cosmetically, the car is also is good but not perfect condition. The paint looks like new with the exception of about 3 or 4 surface scratches. There is also a small dent on the passenger side rear quarter panel and the passenger door. The interior looks like new with the exception of a light (barely noticeable) scratch in the driver's seat leather. I have uploaded a number of close-up pictures so that potential purchasers can properly assess the condition of the car. Overall, this is a nice first generation TT. It is a ton of fun to drive for the money. The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for shipping. Car is available for pick up in northern New Jersey (about 30 miles outside of New York City). $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close via Paypal. Audi R8 V10 Plus takes on Ducati Diavel in straight line
Fri, 05 Apr 2013The classic car-versus-motorcycle comparison is put to the test as Autocar pits a 2013 Audi R8 V10 against the Ducati Diavel in a run from 0-150-0 miles per hour. While you might expect the 162-horsepower Ducati weighing just 515 pounds to blow away the 542-horse, 3,500-pound Audi, this particular test measures the acceleration and braking of both high-performance machines.
Drag racing an Audi R8 against a Ducati on a long, flat stretch of concrete sounds fun to us, and Autocar documented the whole test for our viewing pleasure. We don't want to spoil the fun for you, so let's just say that a Volkswagen-owned brand wins. Scroll down to watch the video for yourself.
Audi rules out R8 PHEV, will build E-Tron to order
Tue, 15 Jul 2014The question of whether Audi will morph the next-gen R8 (pictured above, in testing) into a plug-in-hybrid challenger for the BMW i8 may have been answered. CarAdvice, in Australia, is claiming that any plans for a PHV 2016 R8 have been shelved, and that Audi will go ahead with gas-powered or all-electric models, only.
Even then, the electric R8 E-tron (if it ends up being called that) would be built-to-order, and in much smaller quantities than the gas-powered model.
"In the next generation we will have an electric car on behalf of customers' needs, which is only available [upon special order]," Audi product manager Marie Suzanne Ernst told CA. "So it's not a make of series production, but if a customer wants to have it, he can order it."

Wed, 29 May 2013In its ultimate mortal guise, the Audi A1 Black Edition - the littlelest little guy Audi makes - costs 22,340 pounds ($33,705 US) in the UK and comes with a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder that outputs, at most, 182 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The Audi A1 Quattro - still employing the body of the littlelest little guy Audi makes - costs more than 41,020 pounds ($61,888 US) gets a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder from the Audi TTS with 252 hp and 258 lb-ft. And quattro. And 17-inch, center-locking, white wheels.
The crew at XCAR gets the A1 Quattro on video, to both question how the A1 Quattro happened and then to praise it even if they never found the answer. The hosannas come too late for anyone in the UK who was waffling about buying one, however, since all 19 meant for the 'sceptered isle are sold out.
