First off, the pictures make this car look better than it does in person. Way better. The original paint and clearcoat  has scratches, scrapes, small dents and many other issues. Including the clear coat and a lot of the factory paint being gone on the top. 20 years of Arizona sunshine is a killer on paint. In fact someone had the top of the hood repainted flat black. They could of done the top roof and the rear top decklid as well, but chose to leave the flat, very flat factory paint remnants there. The sides still show some shine, but not much. Original paint hides nothing. But these pictures do hide the scrapes, scratches and such on it. Do not expect a showroom paint job. Or even close.

This is a 1994 Audi Quattro S4. I got it a couple years ago from an older fellow from Phoenix in a trade for something or other. My wife took a liking to it as a occasional driver and used it here and there. In fact I got 2 photo radar tickets with  pictures of her in it clocked at like 25 mph over . They wanted me to name the driver of the car registered to me. I told them I had no clue. These S4 Quattros were built from 92- 94. With less than 2000 built. They stickered at a little under 50k. In 1994!. If you are reading this, you already know the story. They are just great driving cars worth far more than they sell for.

Being an Arizona car, this has no rust at all on it. Top, bottom, side, inside and out. It has a little over 150k on it. Runs like a top. Turbo spools right up, I would drive it anywhere. Only thing I have done is replace the 2 front tires with Falken ZIEX about 15k ago, replaced the oil sending unit, the Bosch heater pump and replaced the clutch slave cylinder about 5k ago. I also put in a  new direct ignition coil and a new  ignition control unit. Everything seems to work on the car. Diff lock, cold AC, hot heat. windows, seats, etc. I have never even checked the factory CD changer in the trunk. Factory Bose radio works fine. The antenna needs replacing. The left rear tail light is cracked on the license plate side. All the factory original owners manual, Bose Radio manuals and such are included in the glovebox. This car was used by the previous long time older owner for what he called an airport car. Park it there and not worry about door dings, etc. And he would drive it to San Diego once a month or so.The driver's seat left side lower bolster  shows the worst wear on the interior. The passenger seat and the upper back of the driver's are still pretty nice. This car is pretty much bone stock from the day it left the factory. With a body as clean, rustfree and nice close to that day. It would be a great  car to work with while you drive it. I got a price of one thousand dollars to repaint the car from a high quality local shop. With that done, this car would be tip top. Always start with the best body you can. No bondo crap, no welding, no patching. Just prep and paint. I doubt there are many 92-94 S4 out there as rustfree, straight and original as this one. Straight clean Arizona title in my name ready to go.

I travel around the country with my truck and trailer and might be able to help get it close to you if you are in no big hurry. If you are, pick it up here in Prescott,Az and have a blast driving it home..Full payment must be received within 5 days of auction end.

MTM Audi RS6 Clubsport might be overkill for grocery shopping

Thu, Mar 5 2015

As automotive journalists, we're biologically wired to love station wagons. We really don't have a choice. And while we prefer brown, diesel-powered, manual-transmissioned long-roofs, we suppose a 750-horsepower Audi RS6 Avant would be just dandy. This is the MTM RS6 Clubsport, and as we mentioned, it's very powerful. That's thanks to a modified version of Audi's critically acclaimed 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8. While 750 hp out of just 4.0 liters is impressive, 697 pound-feet of torque is an equally big accomplishment. And if that's not enough, MTM has managed to shave nearly 200 pounds of body fat from the big wagon. Needless to say, it's very, very fast. MTM has displayed a degree of aesthetic restraint, eschewing the gaudy body kit favored by some other tuners and simply opting for a questionable paint job. The 21-inch wheels look good, although with the smattering of rubber around them, we wouldn't bet on a comfortable ride. As for the cabin, well, MTM got a bit out of hand. It's very, very orange. The seats are essentially carbon-fiber shells lined with bits of orange, leather-wrapped padding here and there. Orange, quilted-leather in the door panels, center armrest and on cushions on the side of the center console – a nice touch we wish more automakers would add to their performance cars – contrasts nicely with the black plastics and carbon fiber found on the rest of the dash and center console. That said, we aren't crazy about space for passengers, thanks to the large cage that's there to boost structural stiffness. We have a full gallery of photos of the MTM RS6 Clubsport direct from Geneva. Trust us, you'll want to have a look at this one. Related Video:

Get a load of Audi's TTs [w/videos + poll]

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

The third-generation Audi TT coupe has made its debut here at the Geneva Motor Show, showing an evolutionary design for the German automaker's fashion-forward coupe. As expected, the new TT takes plenty of inspiration from the Sport Quattro Concept that debuted in Frankfurt last year, and it draws upon cues from the model's past two generations.
After seeing it in person, the Autoblog crew on-site in Geneva is sort of torn about the new model. It's crisp and well-proportioned, but in terms of its exterior design, it also doesn't come off like a significant generational leap forward - the aesthetic distance between the original TT and the second-generation model was quite a bit larger. Of course, it's hard to reimagine a design icon, and either way we'll have to wait until we see the car on the road to make final judgments.
Audi is offering a trio of engines for the new TT, including a 2.0-liter turbodiesel powerplant that's good for 184 horsepower, 280 pound-feet of torque and an excellent 56 miles per gallon. On the gasoline front, Audi is offering two versions of its well-liked 2.0-liter TSI turbo-four. The less-powerful spec still offers up a healthy 230 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque, while the higher-output 2.0T sends 310 hp and 280 lb-ft of twist to all four wheels in the TTS coupe. Potent stuff.

Mercedes may be working on a new electric car dubbed 'Ecoluxe'

Fri, Dec 26 2014

Automobile has a lengthy piece this month on how the four German mass-market luxury manufacturers each plan to go after Tesla with their own electric vehicles. It was written by Georg Kacher, the magazine's European bureau chief, and the English version came a month after he wrote the German-language original for Autobild. Tesla isn't exactly a threat to the Germans, but, according to the report, the Model S is planting the right kinds of seeds in niches that are important to the luxury players. The thinking is that - in addition to needed electric vehicles anyway for stricter US regulations - it's better to start designing the machinery now. The article posited Porsche's attack would rest on the coming Panamera platform, but a big hurdle would be battery placement. Unable to find one large space for a lithium-ion pack, engineers would instead put batteries everywhere they could, for a supposed tally of some "108 battery pouches" throughout the body. A few days after the Automobile piece, however, Porsche publicly said it had no intention of challenging the Model S, because the enthusiastic driving the brand is known for doesn't jive with useful range. In Kacher's retelling, Mercedes' plans are even more ambitious, supposedly taking aim at the Model S and the coming Model X. It would do this with an investment in excess of $2 billion in a program called "Ecoluxe" – Mercedes has no brand division akin to BMW's i and Audi's e-tron. The new brand would create a four-strong family of bespoke electric vehicles: a smaller platform with a wheelbase around 106 inches and a larger one with a wheelbase around 118 inches. In addition, the range would have "provisions for rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and rear-wheel steering." The numbers are impressive: seating for seven in the larger vehicles, both longer than 16 feet, front and rear storage areas, ratings of up to 610 horsepower and production capacity of 80,000 units per year. When would we see such creatures? Perhaps as soon as 2019. We do know that if Tesla can knock the Model X over the outfield fence, automakers are going to have to do something. We don't know what the chances are that Ecoluxe is Mercedes' first move - but such a plan could help explain the weird Mercedes concept spied in October.
