Audi A4 on 2040-cars

I found a GTI and I need the down payment...so 1st $2300 gets it!  if someone wants it for $2000 they can have it but with the factory wheels...NO EXEPTIONS...now this car is in fair shape no major dents or scratches, and is FULLY loaded as its the 3.0. Payment prefferd by cash in person or check (CERTIFIED) Wont ship car at my expense that's for buyer but can be driven home. Interior is immaculate other than crack in bottom of drivers side seat, has a crack in the windshield and needs A/C recharge but I am doing repairs as the days go along. As things are fixed the price will go up, Just had transmission fluid changed ($375) but right now I feel the price is VERY fair considering the engine sells for $2200 and up, and it could just be parted and make more. I am somewhat flexible on price as I just have lost intrest in this car and really don't need it anyway (I have an Audi S6/and am looking to buy a new GTi). This car is FREE from any leaks and the engine and undercarriage are bone dry! Valve cover and other gaskets were ALL replaced earlier this year so those are all fine. No leaking sunroof/bad smells (non Smoker) and this car is VERY clean. Front tires have 80% tread left rear tires need to be replaced, these are Passat Komfort Wheels on this car but I also have the OEM wheels to go with it. Roof rack is also OEM, all the windows work (2 new window regulators) and go up/down with no issues. This car isn't perfect but its a good starter car to get there....it hasnt been ragged or abused and the car history is CLEAN. If theres a cheaper A4 here it probly doesn't run and definetly wont get you home...so consider that when making offers. Thanks. Audi A1 now testing after S1 Geneva debut

Sun, 16 Mar 2014

Audi showed of its new S1 hot hatch to the public at the Geneva Motor Show last week, but the Four Ringed brand isn't done tweaking the smallest member of its lineup. Here are spy shots of an upcoming refresh of the standard A1.
The camouflaged model on display here appears to be the three-door model. From what we can discern, it seems the A1 is going to look a lot more like the S1 after the revisions. The headlights and taillights are more like the new performance model than the current standard car. Unlike the S model, the facelifted version has a different front bumper with reshaped foglights and a slightly altered design.
A release date for the refresh hasn't been announced yet, but regardless it probably won't be coming here. Audi is already aiming the A3 at young, American buyers. The little A1 just doesn't fit with that strategy.

The Volkswagen Group switches official language to English

Wed, Dec 14 2016

The Volkswagen Group can't be fairly thought of as entirely German anymore, so the news that the company is switching its official language to English to help attract managers and executives is a rational, if surprising, decision. While many VW Group companies are still staidly German in character and culture, consider the other companies that it controls: Bentley (British), Bugatti (French), Ducati and Lamborghini (Italian), Skoda (Czech), Scania trucks (Swedish), and SEAT (Spanish). Not to mention the large Volkswagen Group of America operation, which constructs cars in Chattanooga, TN. Volkswagen's explicit motivation is to improve management recruitment – making sure the company isn't losing out on candidates for important positions because they can't speak German – and that's inherently sensible in a globalized economy. Particularly considering, like it or lump it, that English is the lingua franca of said global economy. It also should make it inherently easier to communicate between its world-wide subsidiaries and coordinate operations. It's hard to say for sure if this will have any impact on the consumer, although it's easy to see the benefits if, say, VW Group hires some American product planners or engineers and they push for features and designs that more closely suit American needs. After all, the US is a hugely important market for any manufacturer, and so the switch to English almost certainly has something to do with the outsized influence of the US in the global economy. And there doesn't seem to be a downside from a purely rational perspective, although it could mean that the Group's corporate culture becomes less German. Whether that's a good or a bad thing depends on your perspective. Audi R8 V10 gets tuned up by ABT

Mon, 20 May 2013

Bavarian tuners ABT have done another job on the Audi R8 V10, pumping up the 5.2-liter FSI V10 from 525 horsepower to 600 hp, and torque from 391 pound-feet to 406 lb-ft. With 50 more horsepower than the R8 V10 Plus - but not the extreme weight-loss scheme - ABT claims a 0-62 mile per hour run of 3.5 seconds, the same as the R8 V10 Plus, and a top speed for the mid-engined coupe of 198 miles per hour "is no problem at all."
Managing all that speed are the aero tweaks provided by a comprehensive body kit including a rear wing, a lowered and beefed-up suspension, a stainless steel exhaust and 19-inch wheels in two different designs.
The press release below has a few more bits of info on the matter. And while ABT hasn't put a price on the Audi upgrades, but it's safe to say that nearly 200 mph in an R8 won't come cheap.
