2006 Audi A4 Avant Quattro Wagon 2.0T Only 58,000 Miles
Offered for sale is a beautiful, gold Audi A4 Quattro wagon. The photos reflect the true condition of the car. The body is in good condition and has only minor scrapes that are normal for an 8 year old car. The paint still has a beautiful finish with a deep shine. The leather seating surfaces and interior of the car have been well maintained and are still in excellent condition. Mechanically, the Avant handles well and drives beautifully. New set of high quality Goodyear tires bought in 2010, with less than 5,000 miles on them since then. The car has been stored for the last two years, only driven occasionally. Brand new battery installed two weeks ago. New spark plugs installed in November. Audi SQ7 coming, will have electric turbo
Sun, 27 Jul 2014Formula 1 and endurance racing are already harvesting energy from turbos on the track, and now it's apparently time for a similar idea of boosting the efficiency of forced induction to hit the streets in a high-performance, diesel SUV.
In a recent interview with the UK's Autocar, Audi technical boss Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg let the big news slip. "The new Q7 will be available in the market next year but the electric turbo will come a bit later in the Audi SQ7 available in 2016," he said. The e-turbo system was already rumored for the premium SUV but for the standard model, not this just-announced performance version.
Audi has been experimenting with the e-turbo system for a little while, as an electrically driven supercharger. It showed up on the RS5 TDI concept that used a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged diesel V6 plus the electric system to diminish turbo lag. In that application, it provided an impressive 385 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque and an alleged sprint to 62 miles per hour in 4 seconds. Although, Dr. Hackenberg didn't make it clear if this was the exact layout for the SQ7.
Audi S3 pitted against BMW M135i in track battle
Fri, 07 Mar 2014Audi and BMW have long been enemies on both the road and the track, with their respective M and S/RS lines duking it out to the delight of auto enthusiasts everywhere. In this video from Evo, two of the rivalry's newest combatants take to the track - the Audi S3 and the BMW M135i.
The new Audi S3, which is finally coming to America, throws down with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder. 290 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque are deployed to a Quattro all-wheel-drive system via a six-speed, S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission, allowing the five-door Audi to scamper to 60 in under five seconds.
The BMW, which Americans will know as a long-roof version of the new M235i Coupe, comes to the track with 320 ponies and 331 lb-ft of torque. That's a good bit more than the Audi, but the M135i has only two wheels to send its power to, an eight-speed single-clutch automatic (a six-speed manual is available) and a slightly higher curb weight.
