2000 Audi A4 Quattro Avant Wagon 4-door 1.8l on 2040-cars
Fairfax, California, United States
This is a tuner car that I have been having fun with since about 2005. Over the years I consistently searched out and purchased quality parts and components and had most of them professionally installed by 034 Motorsports, or Kovacs Motors (San Rafael, CA). Used as a back up commuter car for most of its life. Never tracked unfortunately, but pretty much ready for some 1/4 mile blasts or a nice day any any good road course. It has a significant amount of tasteful modifications and might just be what you are looking for. Wife says I have to sell this and one of my bikes, see my other auctions if you like turbo motorcycles. This vehicle is a "big turbo car". If you have never driven a "big turbo car" it is good to know that they ultimately sacrifice low end torque for top end horsepower. This car is no exception. It does have to spool the turbo, but at 22PSI on California 91 Octane pump gas, everything over 4500 RPM is exciting. Freeway onramps are very fun... Performance Enhancements: ENGINE:

The Good: This car is very clean with lots of professionally installed upgrades. Given that it is running a remapped Stock ECU, any problem that might occur would easily diagnosed as if the vehicle was stock. It is very clean cosmetically and only has some small areas where wear and tear were inevitable. The car dynoed on California pump gas at 265 AWDHP which is well over 300HP at the crank. There are Wideband 02 and EGT sensors installed. Adjustable digital boost controller in glovebox. Tinted windows. Full on sleeper. The Not So Good:
The Bad: (NOTE: CALIFORNIA BUYERS PAY ATTENTION) In April of 2013 I took the car to get smogged in my home region of Northern California. Given the extensive mods the car was flagged as a "gross polluter" given that it did not have the "secondary air pump" installed. This is true. Smog laws and testing are getting more strict in CA and they finally caught up with this vehicle. I have all the required parts and can ship with the car. I can not guarantee that this car can be easily somgged in CA given that it officially failed a visual smog inspection. It never had problems passing any of the sniff tests, but with missing parts, it did not pass the visual inspection. Extra Parts:

Audi CVT suit settlement given green light, 64,000 cars covered
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Audi drivers, listen up. If you bought or leased a 2002-06 model-year A4 or A6 with a factory-installed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that failed, you may be entitled to reimbursement under a recently settled class-action lawsuit with corporate parent Volkswagen.
According to Automotive News, the settlement covers about 64,000 vehicles and alleges that "manufacturing and design problems caused the transmissions to fail and left owners stuck with repair costs." While the suit also argues Audi was aware of these issues (going so far as to hide that knowledge from consumers), the settlement stops short of acknowledging any wrongdoing by the German automaker.
Audi drivers are eligible for a cash reimbursement if their CVT repairs occurred within 10 years or 100,000 miles of the date they bought or leased the vehicle before June 19, 2013. To be eligible for compensation, drivers must submit a claim form (found here) with supporting documents by November 18.
ABT Sportsline coming to US, premiering AS6 at SEMA
Fri, 25 Oct 2013ABT Sportsline, known as ABT Tuning from its founding in 1967 until 1991, is a German aftermarket parts and tuning company that has focused on enhancing Volkswagens and Audis since the VW GTI bowed in 1978 (in Europe, at least) and races competitively in DTM (Germany's touring car racing series). The company has kept its roots in Europe for all of these years, but will debut the AS6, based on the Audi A6, at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) in a couple weeks before opening up shop in Los Angeles in early 2014.
ABT focused on making the AS6 a balanced package by increasing engine output, tuning the suspension, giving it understated style and improving the brakes. Details are light, but the AS6's 3.0-liter diesel V6 makes 286 horsepower, a 41-hp increase over stock. Not paying attention yet? Torque jumps from 369 pound-feet to 500 lb-ft, endowing the Audi with a lot of much-appreciated low-rpm grunt. The springs are swapped out for a set of ABT units, and the body kit adds front and rear spoilers, side and rear skirts and carbon-fiber mirror covers. ABT's ER-C 20-inch wheels fit over new brakes.
We'll have more details on the car at SEMA, so stay tuned. But in the meantime, head on below to read the press release.
Tuner may sue Monaco hotel for damage caused by valet's injury
Sat, 31 May 2014It's relatively common to hear about unethical valets taking a joyride and wrecking high-performance cars. However, a recent 'accident' in Monaco might be one of the weirdest cases ever. Of course, now the lawyers may get involved.
Andreas Belzek, owner of tuning firm Prior Design, was driving his highly modified, black with gold pinstripes, widebody Audi R8 (pictured above) to the Hotel de Paris in the famously rich city on the shores of the Mediterranean. Upon arriving, he was going to check in but wanted to park the supercar himself, which was against the hotel's rules. He protested to the valet but eventually gave in and handed over the keys. Then the problems began.
The Audi barely moved before the valet herniated a disk in his back and couldn't leave the car. The police and paramedics arrived to the scene, which had to be quite a crowd in a city as tiny as Monaco. To get the guy out, the rescue crew had to hook him to a special hoist and carry him out, according to Germany's Focus Online. Belzek claims the efforts to save the man caused roughly 10,000 euros ($13,622) in damage to the car's carbon fiber, Alcantara and Nappa leather interior.
