For sale is a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro, 2.8L, 5-speed, 4dr, AWD, 130k. This sedan is presented in its most desirable form. It has the reliable and powerful 2.8L V6 engine putting power to all four wheels through Audi's legendary Quattro all wheel drive system and a manual transmission. This is a great looking Audi. It is finished in a dark blue over light tan interior. I would rate the exterior of this Audi A4 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Ths finish on this Audi shines well and looks good from any angle. As with any older vehicle, the buyer should expect to find evidence of daily wear associated with use. However, there is no noteworthy issue to report on the exterior of this Audi. There is a small piece of plastic trim missing at the bottom of the left rear door which is common. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact.
I would rate the interior of this Audi A4 to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you open the door, you'll see that the door cards are clean, tight and show minimal wear for an older vehicle. The carpets show well, also. Both seats are heated and clean, although there are some signs of wear in the leather. On the passenger seat bottom one of the seams is starting to pull apart. The dash and headliner are clean. The previous owner was a non-smoker. The wood trim shows well. The stereo is the original system and sounds great. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The power windows, mirrors, sunroof and central locks are also working properly. The trunk is spacious and clean. Of course, the cup holder is broken.
Mechanically, this Audi is in good running and driving condition. The 2.8L V6 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. The valve covers leak a little which is common for this engine. I did not notice any other leaks and the engine does not smoke. The 2.8L is one of Audi's most reliable engines. It makes great power and is very smooth. The suspension on this Audi feels tight. The steering is neutral and responsive. The brakes bring this sedan to a stop with no issues. Her road manners are very good. This car is at home both running around town and cruising down the interstate. Accelleration is effortless. The engine keeps proper temperature. Highway cruising is nice and smooth with no complaints. The clutch grabs high on the pedal and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the manual transmission are smooth and precise. Audi's legendary Quattro all wheel drive system keeps this A4 firmly planted to the ground and offers incredible performance both on dry roads and in the worst of winter weather. Quattro is a purely mechanical viscous all wheel drive system (not like the electronic systems of most vehicles) which is virtually indestructible. The miles on this Audi are still nice and low. It is getting hard to find good first generation A4's anymore. Thanks for looking.

2015 Audi Q3
Mon, Apr 13 2015There are two ways to approach a brand-new segment in the auto industry. First, an automaker can take a gamble and introduce a completely new vehicle, catering to the specific demands of the marketplace(s) in question. In the compact, premium CUV segment, we've seen Buick do this with the Encore, and Mercedes-Benz with the GLA-Class. The other option is to introduce a vehicle already sold in another market. Considering the amount of time it takes to bring a new vehicle from paper to production, there is plenty to gain in the short-term with this approach. It's not without its downsides, though, as we found after a week behind the wheel of the 2015 Audi Q3, a vehicle that was initially launched in 2011. Cute though it may be – it was referred to at least once by a passerby during our testing as "totes adorbs" – Ingolstadt's decision to introduce a vehicle that's already been on sale for four years, and is effectively approaching the last half of its lifecycle, leaves the Q3 at a significant disadvantage relative to the newer competition. Despite crossing its first auto show stage four years ago, the Q3 remains a handsome little bugger. Audi's designs, while conservative, tend to age very well, and the compact Q3 is no exception. It's like a scaled-down Q5 in most respects, although certain design pieces, like its more aggressively raked rear window and shorter front and rear overhangs, belie the significantly smaller Q3's figure. Due to its age, the Q3 was, fortunately, designed before the current A3 hit the market. That means it avoids the unattractive, minimalist dash of the A3, opting for a more traditional Audi design, with a strip of brushed aluminum on the passenger's side, a user-friendly center stack and a suitably large nav screen front and center. While the overall layout is attractive, the material quality is not what we'd expect of a newer Audi. There's nothing that feels exceedingly cheap – the plastics just feel old and too familiar. It's difficult to describe, but as soon as you climb in the Q3, things like the switchgear for the HVAC controls immediately remind you that this is a vehicle that's been on sale since 2011. While our definition of interior quality has evolved over the years, our idea of a driver-friendly cabin has not. The Q3 scores highly in this regard, featuring the elevated seating position that makes CUVs so popular with the general public.
A8 Audi Exclusive Concept shows off brand's interior chops
Sat, 16 Nov 2013It's an envious position to be in, not wanting a normal Audi A8 but not wanting to make the statement that comes with a Bentley or a Rolls-Royce. What's an oligarch to do? Well, if you have the funds, consider the A8 Audi Exclusive Concept (yes, that's the actual name), a modified A8L W12 that's limited to just 50 units and features a significantly upgraded interior. Think of it as a followup to the A8 Exclusive Concept, shown at Frankfurt in 2011.
Aniline leather from Italian furniture manufacturer Poltrona Frau is fitted over the seats, while diamond stiching accentuates the Agatha Cognac color. Granite Gray piping and stitching on the seats provides some contrast - not just with the leather but the natural, olive ash inlays on the dash. Granite Gray Nappa leather lines the instrument panel and steering wheel while a white Alcantara headliner sets off the whole package. Not that it's a shock, but this looks like a really nice place to spend some time.
It's unclear how much the exclusive concept treatment adds on to the already lofty $135,900 starting price of a US-spec A8L W12, or if the special interior treatment will even be available in the North America. Production is set to kick off next March. Scroll down for the full statement from Audi.
VW says it has sold over 100,000 TDI diesels in America this year
Thu, 26 Dec 2013Volkswagen Group of America has lit oil-burning fireworks to celebrate the sales of more than 100,000 TDI Clean Diesel vehicles in the US between its VW and Audi brands this year. According to VW, that means it is responsible for more than 75 percent of diesel-engined cars and SUVs sold here - perhaps not surprising when the two brands offer a total of 12 diesel models.
What might be surprising is that the number of diesels isn't far off the estimated sales of 90,000 battery electric vehicles and PHEVs, with 15,000 of those accounted for by the Tesla Model S, another 12,000 or so being the Toyota Prius PHEV.
VW's keen to play up the ease of making diesel part of your life, stressing that it doesn't need any change to the refueling infrastructure and that "this is a technology delivering real answers to society's concerns about fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions without compromises."
