1984 Audi Coupe Quattro Turbo Coupe on 2040-cars
Somerville, Massachusetts, United States
Audi Coupe Quattro . Condition is Used. Engine rebuilt 8,000 miles ago and paint 6 years old.
This is an unmolested Ur Quattro in superb driving and cosmetic condition. I bought it 6 years ago from a shop
restoring high end classic cars. They had bought the car locally and rebuilt the engine to European specs.
Therefore the engine has only 8000 miles . The car body is corrosion free.
Upon buying it all bushings where changed, the tires were changed (on the original and intact Audi wheels), the 2
differentials settings were overhauled and work. The car color was initially black but tired and I asked to repaint
the car in the original Quattro Amazon blue. The leather seats were reupholstered but are original as well.
The car had been lowered by one previous owner and I wanted a standard ride. I bought a kit (2B coil Program) from
2Bennett, the Californian shop specialized in Quattros. This kit is adjustable and I set the car to its original
ride height. It turns beautifully.
Last I installed an Alpine CD/Bluetooth radio that has hand free phone settings.

Next Audi TT RS comes in 2016, manual transmission doesn't
Tue, Jul 21 2015This line comes from our review of the 2012 Audi TT RS: "Did we mention that the 2012 TT RS is only available with a manual transmission?" When we review the next-generation TT RS, expected to launch next year, we'll have to rewrite that line as: "Did we mention that the TT RS is not available with a manual transmission?" That's the word from Car and Driver, which has heard that the superheated little coupe will only come with the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox found in the Euro-market RS3 Sportback. The first generation came with a dual-clutch and a manual transmission in Europe, but the unit for our market required the laying on of hands to get from one cog to another. If we don't get another, the blow will be all the more painful because Audi's manual transmissions are so good. Our assessment summed up the last one thus, "With a short, precise throw and excellent action, the transmission is a mechanical work of art." Good news? Volkswagen says the installed DQ500 dual-clutch is faster, more refined, and more reliable. As well, power from the reworked 2.5-liter, turbocharged five-cylinder should rise from 360 horsepower to "around 400." You'll just be asked to keep your hands off of it. The first-gen car only came here after a successful Facebook petition gathered more than 11,000 signatures in a month, we wish Audi had given us a chance to weigh in on this, too. Although we will probably get it later next year as a 2017 model, we could see it at the Frankfurt Motor Show in two months. Related Video:
Audi revisits Ahab on desert island paradise in new ad
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Well, call us Ishmael. Long ago (okay, about eight months), Audi debuted an ad during the NFL playoffs called "Ahab." It showed a salty tow truck driver and his years of catches. During that time, one particular car eluded and haunted him - a white Audi A6, whose Quattro all-wheel-drive system had no issues with the inclement conditions.
Now, there's a sequel that has Ahab, not dead and not missing any legs, on a tropical island. What he doesn't realize, though, is that the white whale (which, Audi, if you're going to associate an animal with a luxury sedan, a whale isn't the best choice) has followed him. Take a look at chuckle-worthy spot below, and then click over and see the spot that started it all from back in January.
40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax
Thu, 24 Jul 2014
The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
