This has been my wife’s car (she is a VERY conservative driver) and is driven very little; we moved her into a larger vehicle (2001 Sequoia) since we had out little girl and I have been wanting her to drive a giant SUV - yes, I'm a little over protective - so we are selling the Audi, which we have loved very much. We have had the vehicle for 3 years and have put less than 10,000 per year on the car, and it has been maintained and cared for very well. The transmission and drivetrain are is excellent condition. I have pushed the car to it's limits ONCE just to see how it performs and I was very very impressed. Other than my ONE speed test, the vehicle has been driven very conservatively and gently (again, this has been my wife's car and she is a MUCH more conservative driver than the average man). This car is GARAGE KEPT and has been out of the sun and elements. This A3 is priced well below both Kelley Blue Book and NADA value.  This has always been a non-smoking vehicle. The "new leather" smell is actually still present when you sit in the car! We have diligently cleaned and cared for this vehicle and believe the next owner will be very very happy with the condition.

This vehicle is being sold AS IS; please contact me to ask any and all questions BEFORE you purchase. I will provide you with ALL the information I have.

Please note, I have already received several inquiries, and the pricing/reserve is firm.  You will not find ANY other A3’s for lower than this price at this year (2008) with this few miles (under 65k). This vehicle is very reasonably priced. There will be no owner financing or installment plans. The reserve is FIRM; we do have an offer on the vehicle already and can sell it at a price we are happy with, but we want to put it up for auction to see if the national market would be a little better than the local Texas market.

The Deposit ($500.00) is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction, and the Balance (Final Payment) is due in full within 72 hours of the end of the auction and after the deposit is collected (deposit is counted toward final price of the vehicle). Payment (cashier’s check or cash in person) must CLEAR before releasing vehicle/title.

BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PICK UP/SHIPPING. I will certainly assist however I can with any shipping accommodations, but will ultimately rely on the buyer to be responsible for shipping. I cannot be responsible in any way for claims arising from shipping damage - all shipping arrangements are made via 3rd Party Licensed Broker. These brokers can be found online or through ebay resources.

Out of state buyers are responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title service fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. Again, I can assist as much is reasonably needed with information, but these taxes and fees are solely the buyer's responsibility.

Le Mans champion Allan McNish retires from LMP1 racing

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

Having won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times, the American Le Mans Series title another three times and, most recently, the FIA World Endurance Championship, Allan McNish doesn't have much left to prove. Which is why he's retiring, ending this stage of his 33-year driving career on a high note.
In a statement just released by McNish himself and his team at Audi, the Scotsman said "I've had a fantastically successful time with Audi and feel it's the right time to step back from Le Mans sports-prototype racing and to look at other opportunities."
Just what those other opportunities might be is another matter. He's raced in DTM, Formula One and the International Formula 3000 series, where he won two races in 1990. McNish, 44, is also part of the BBC Radio's F1 commentary team, serves as president of the Scottish Motor Racing Club and is often called upon by the FIA to act as a grand prix race steward. Audi says he'll continue to be part of the team, just not in the driver's seat. Given his success in endurance racing, he's surely got a wide variety of opportunities to pursue, and we're looking forward to seeing where he lands.

Volkswagen Group's Vision 2030 strategy could bring revolution to the brands

Sat, May 11 2019

One would expect a corporate plan called "Vision 2030," looking 11 years ahead through wildly tumultuous times, to involve great change and numerous forks in numerous roads. According to Automobile's breakdown of Volkswagen's path forward, though, the plans contain some lurid potential surprises. The ultimate aim is return on investment, and that means ruthless reorganization of a conglomerate with eight primary car brands, two car sub-brands, and Ducati motorcycles. The first two Vision 2030 cornerstones Automobile mentions are near boilerplate: Production network restructuring, and "streamlining of key technologies." The latter two are the ones that could upend what we know as the Volkswagen Group: focusing on the Group's core brands — meaning Audi, Porsche, and VW — and transitioning to EVs, autonomy, and other mobility solutions. Based on the report, a quote from Audi's CTO referring to the Audi brand could cover how the Group plans to handle all of its brands: "We need to find a sustainable solution for the indefinite transition period until EVs eventually take over." The boutique divisions adjacent to carmaking, Ducati and Italdesign, look likely to be spun off. For the halo car brands — Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini — apparently shareholders want double-digit returns on investment, and the trio doesn't have long to hit the target. One eyebrow raiser is when the report states, "Bugatti is tipped to be gifted to [ex-VW Group Chairman] Ferdinand Piech." Piech fathered the Veyron during his tenure at VW, and it was thought he commissioned the La Voiture Noire, but he's lately stepped so far back from VW that he sold all his shares in the Group. Automobile quoted a senior strategist as saying of money-losing Bentley, "Why invest on a backward-looking enterprise when you can support a trendsetter? A proud history and excellent craftmanship alone don't cut it anymore." We guess no one at Ferrari, McLaren, or even Porsche got that memo. Bentley is reportedly close to being put in time out, and if brand CEO Adrian Hallmark can't right the Crewe ship, the hush-hush Plan B is to prop the Flying B up enough to lure a buyer. As for Lamborghini, caught between two masters at Audi and Porsche, even record-breaking numbers at the Italian supercar maker barely staved off sacrilege. It's said that VW brand CEO Herbert Diess considered putting a 5.0-liter Porsche V8 into the Aventador successor.

VW Group plan puts Porsche in charge of a 'super-premium' division

Tue, Sep 11 2018

An Automobile report looks into what's happening on the organizational and technical sides of the Volkswagen Group, and what those changes could mean for the premium brands. The wide-angle view is that Porsche appears to have been anointed to "coordinate the future activities" at Audi, Bentley, Bugatti and Lamborghini. Audi would cede Lamborghini guardianship to Stuttgart, and Ducati — via a new concern called Ducati Enterprises — would become the shepherd for VW's other Italian investments. Executives target Jan. 1, 2019, to complete the reshuffle. VW wants to save a boodle by tying up four of its five top-tier brands, and putting the one with the highest ROI in charge. Porsche, within its own house, wants to reduce expenditures by $2.3 billion per year over for four years, the savings already earmarked for improving internal processes like R&D and production. Having Porsche share those gains as well as lead development of platforms, components and future-tech strategies for the sister sports car brands could benefit everyone. In the near-term, the brands have their own plans: Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann is said to want a Chiron Superleggera, a roofless and "completely reskinned" Chiron Aperta, and a track-only Chiron SS. The Superleggera could take the Chiron Sport's and Divo's Jenny Craig routines even further. The Aperta seems a natural successor to the Veyron Grand Sport, a natural evolution of the recently introduced Sky View roof, and a reskin might include numerous Divo cues. It's also said Bugatti's considering "an all-electric high-end model" in conjunction with Porsche, Rimac, and Dallara, but name one supercar or hypercar manufacturer that isn't considering a lightning-fast EV. Lamborghini, deep into work on follow-ups for the Huracan and Aventador, might get a bit of a bump with the new plan. The carbon "monofuselage" for the next V12 flagship is said to be too far developed and too complex to scrap. It puts two electric motors on the front axle, batteries in the middle, and a naturally aspirated V12 with around 770 horsepower plus another e-motor with 402 horsepower in back. The Huracan is said to get a version of the same carbon architecture at the moment, but the corporate reorganization might press pause on it. Automobile says options include continuing the Huracan/ Audi R8 twinning, but that depends on Audi saying "Ja" to a third-gen R8 with Lamborghini bones.
