2006 Audi A3 -- Sport
Hi, I am selling my 2006 Audi A3. This car has been well taken care of. It has been regularly serviced, and I have the maintenance records. This car has always been garaged at my house in Folsom, CA. It has never been in an accident, not even a minor bump. I drive this car an average of 1-2 days a week to work--on other days I bike. It has not spent much time sitting out in the elements, and has never seen snow. This car still runs like new, the engine is very strong. It has no rattles. There are only a few minor scratches in the paint. I did my best to show the scratches in the full size pictures (see dropbox link). It has a minor tear in the leather of the driver's seat (also included in the photos). Finally, there are a few scuff marks under the bumper from curbs. These flaws are not very apparent unless you are looking for them. Even with these minor blemishes, this car looks absolutely fantastic and still gets attention. I am only selling this car because I bought my dream car (a Porsche). I would love to keep this car, but don't have the garage space for it, nor would I be able to drive it regularly enough. This car deserves to have a nice garaged home and I wouldn't want to park it outside to keep it. Contact me for a dropbox link for a full high-resolution gallery of the car and the blemishes. I also included a carfax I ran on it. • 37,000 miles • One owner • Always garage kept, very clean • Always maintained (have records) • Regularly washed and hand waxed (carnuba), the paint is spectacular • 200hp turbo 4 cyl, manual transmission • 6K on tires, new battery • Recent major service (45k) done • Adult driven • Title in hand • Options: Xenon, leather, sports suspension, dual zone climate control, factory two-tone painted wheels, summer tires I require payment in the form of a cashier's check from a local bank. Wells Fargo or BoA is acceptable. I also require a deposit via PayPal of $500 within 48 hours of the auction closing. keyword: audi, bmw, lexus, mercedes, cadillac, honda, vw, gti, gli, jetta, golf, accord, civic, camry, nissan, ford, A3, A4, C300, C250, 330, 335, 328, 325, hatchback, wagon, sporty, manual, standard, |

2016 Audi A3 Sportback headed to US under diesel power [w/video]
Thu, 17 Apr 2014Every get the feeling that automakers aren't really listening to what it is that you want in an automobile? Well, Audi is. Following what it calls "an outpouring of enthusiasts' support," the German automaker has announced that it is bringing the new, 2016 A3 Sportback to the US under diesel power, in the summer of 2015.
Unveiled today at the New York Auto Show, the new A3 TDI Sportback joins an expanding range of A3 models available Stateside. Whereas the Sportback hatch was until now only slated to be offered in E-Tron hybrid form, and the TDI only as a sedan, this model combines the bodystyle of the former with the power of the latter. The new TDI slots into the family alongside the gasoline-powered A3 and S3 sedans and A3 Cabriolet as well.
Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four with 150 horsepower and mated to a six-speed S tronic transmission. Because it's still a year away from launch, Audi tells us it hasn't determined figures for performance, fuel economy or carbon emissions numbers, but when it joins the company's considerable diesel offerings (which already include the A6, A7, A8, Q5 and Q7) as part of the new A3 rollout over the course of the next 18 months, you can bet it'll provide that combination of low-end grunt and long-range capability that diesel enthusiasts crave. In the meantime you can scope out the details and b-roll footage below for a closer look.
Is the Audi R8 E-Tron project back on again?
Thu, 11 Apr 2013If you ask Audi about its R8 E-Tron prototype, the all-electric two-seater that was first shown at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the automaker will tell you that its development program is on hold. Yet, as we reported in January, limited production of the combustion-free coupe may be moving forward... information still officially unconfirmed by the automaker.
New images of the electrified R8 undergoing winter testing in Europe have emerged (above and in our gallery), and the car has been spotted running in Spain as well. Both sightings support reports that the E-Tron, with its 150-mile battery range and 8:09 Nürburgring time, may be back in business. Does the program have a green light, or is Audi merely trying to take some of the thunder from the BMW i8?
Whatever the case, if the R8 E-Tron does eventually make it into showrooms - and we are now led to believe it will - expect production volume to be very low. Assuming it doesn't get shelved again, of course.
Audi supercar not yet approved, R4 not quite dead, still room for an MPV
Wed, 24 Apr 2013According to a report by Autocar, all we thought we knew of the in-development Audi supercar we might not actually know. A piece in Car and Driver, not even a month old, said the diesel-hybrid halo car was in the design stages, would get the engine from the R18 E-Tron Quattro and its carbon fiber tub. Now we get word that that while the coupe is indeed being designed, it hasn't yet been signed off and there's no business case for it yet. Said business case, whenever it is built, is also dubious of the diesel aspect of the car at the moment - diesels aren't known for creating Pavlovian purchase responses in buyers in the two key markets of the US and China.
The report suggests that instead of a diesel, the 2014 Le Mans regulations changes "could swing the favour back towards petrol models," which would give the so-called Scorpion a better tie to racing technology. Of course, that also assumes that Audi would contest next year's Le Mans with a gas-powered car. If so, that would be an about-face on the original reasons for the halo sportscar in the first place.
In other news, seems Audi also believes it can slot another sportscar below the R8, it just needs to get the financials sorted. The R4 - a Porsche Boxster-sized roadster - that has been chattered about for years is still in on the table but appears a long way off. Company R&D chief Wolfgang Durheimer said it would need to be mid-engined and bring plenty of tech to separate itself from the TT, but mass-market price point is the catch as is the focus on other segments in the portfolio.
