SUMMER IS HERE!!! AND GREAT WEATHER SHOULD BE ENJOYED WITH A GREAT CAR!!!

Up for sale is my amazing 2002 Audi TT convertible with highly desirable black exterior/baseball leather interior. This car is so beautiful and runs flawlessly. Factory premium Bose sound system with heated seats and power everything. Clear title, never in a single accident. Meticulously maintained by 1 female owner (maintenance records available). Original sticker price of $38,900 with add-ons $43,275 (see last pic). All manuals and bumper stickers still with me. Two Audi remote access keys. Must see to appreciate!!

I'll break down the specifics both exterior, interior, and mechanically.

Exterior: Flawless with the exception of one ding on the passenger door, and trunk lid - other than that just a few scratches on the rear bumper. All original black paint, still bright and shiny (see pics). 9/10

Interior: Limited edition baseball leather interior has normal wear, and still in excellent condition, especially for a 10+ year old car. Driver's seat a bit more worn than the passenger's though, naturally. This color combination gives it a very classy, sophisticated look. Passengers and bystanders will love you. 8/10

Mechanically: Immaculate. Sensors all work perfect, no lights on. A/C blows cold. Also has heated seats. Over 140k but honestly, you would never be able to tell, since it still runs and drives like new - extremely smooth and responsive - you won't believe it! I've driven other TT's which have had under 60k, and they didn't even drive this smooth. Convertible top is in excellent condition as well, and still opens and closes just as it should. **Only issue is some missing pixels on the middle screen of the dashboard, which is very common on Audi's, and does not affect the drivability of the car in any way. 9/10

I can't say for certain, but this is probably the best looking and maintained Audi TT you will find on eBay. The only modification made has been to the radio (still have the original one). It now has a Pioneer bluetooth-enabled stereo system, so you can directly link songs from your iPod or iPhone without any cords or wires. The original Audi one did not do that.

Brand new oil change, brakes, and tires. This car has been babied, and is a true rare gem. No need to purchase from dealers, whom usually mark up the price, and doesn't know anything about the car's history.

Get this baby at a much better deal. Winner will not be disappointed!

Mileage may be a bit more upon receipt. Local pickup only. Payment can be made in either money order, cashier's check, or Paypal (4% more). Car is located in Queens, New York. Seriously bidders only. I know how hard buying a car can be, so feel free to contact me at (347) 233-0769 with any questions or concerns, and I'll accommodate in any way that I can. Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Audi Self-Driving Car Gets First Permit In California

Tue, Sep 16 2014

Computer-driven cars have been testing their skills on California roads for more than four years - but until now, the Department of Motor Vehicles wasn't sure just how many were rolling around. That changed Tuesday, when the agency issued testing permits that allowed three companies to dispatch 29 vehicles onto freeways and into neighborhoods - with a human behind the wheel in case the onboard computers make a bad decision. The German automaker Audi was first in the state to receive a self-driving car permit and already has plans to test drive an autonomous A7 around the Bay Area, according to the Los Angeles Times. These may be the cars of the future, but for now they represent a tiny fraction of California's approximately 32 million registered vehicles. Google's souped-up Lexus SUVs are the biggest fleet, with 25 vehicles. Mercedes and Volkswagen have two vehicles each, said Bernard Soriano, the DMV official overseeing the state's "autonomous vehicle" regulation-writing process. A "handful" of other companies are applying for permits, he said. The permits formally regulate testing that already was underway. Google alone is closing in on 1 million miles. The technology giant has bet heavily on the vehicles, which navigate using sophisticated sensors and detailed maps. Finally, government rules are catching up. In 2012, the California Legislature directed the DMV to regulate the emerging technology. Rules that the agency first proposed in January went into effect Tuesday. Among them: - Test drivers must have a sparkling driving record, complete a training regimen and enroll in a program that informs their employer if they get in an accident or are busted for driving under the influence off hours. - Companies must report to the state how many times their vehicles unexpectedly disengage from self-driving mode, whether due to a failure of the technology or because the human driver takes over in an emergency. They also must have insurance or other coverage to pay for property or personal injury claims of up to $5 million. California passed its law after Nevada and Florida and before Michigan. The federal government has not acted, and national regulations appear to be years away. It's impossible to know the total number of self-driving cars being tested on public roads because, unlike California and Nevada, Michigan does not require special permits to test self-driving cars on public roads.

Autoblog gets ready for Le Mans with an R8 road trip and Allan McNish

Thu, 20 Jun 2013

This car is the master link between what Audi does on the race track and sells on the road.
We're attending the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Audi and we figured we'd make the world's biggest endurance race even more interesting by driving from Munich to Le Mans in an R8. We've also had a brief chat with Audi driver Allan McNish, and if you haven't already, check out all the multimedia ways to enjoy the next four days from the Circuit de la Sarthe, then read on.

VW offers to buy back new diesels if bans introduced

Thu, Mar 29 2018

By Maria Sheahan FRANKFURT, Germany — Volkswagen will buy back new diesel cars if German cities ban them, it said on Thursday, seeking to reassure potential buyers and stem a plunge in sales of diesel vehicles. Europe's biggest automaker also said it would extend incentives for buyers of new diesel cars. The moves come after a German court ruled last month that cities in the country could ban the most polluting diesel vehicles from their streets. Many German cities exceed European Union limits on atmospheric nitrogen oxide, known to cause respiratory diseases. Fears of bans have led to a plunge in demand for diesel vehicles, which are also key to carmakers' attempts to meet new EU rules on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. While diesel cars are heavily criticized for emitting nitrogen oxide, they spew out less CO2 than gasoline equivalents. Diesel car sales plunged 19 percent in Germany last month. At its core VW brand, Volkswagen said its buyback offer applied to new diesels bought between April 1 and the end of 2018 and would kick in if the city in which the buyer lived or worked banned diesels within three years of the purchase. It said its dealerships would buy back diesel vehicles affected by bans at their current value if their owners at the same time bought a new vehicle that was not affected by cities' driving restrictions. At Czech brand Skoda, the guarantee applies to cars bought between April 1 and the end of June, but will cover bans introduced within four years of the purchase date. At premium brand Audi, the offer only covers leased vehicles. Volkswagen also said it was extending to the end of June incentives for customers trading in older diesels for new ones. Fellow German carmaker BMW said earlier this month it would offer to take back leased vehicles if diesels were banned within 100 kilometers (62 miles) of the operator's home or place of work. There has been a global backlash against diesel-engine cars since Volkswagen admitted in 2015 to cheating U.S. exhaust tests. But Germany's government is seeking to avoid widespread bans on heavily polluting diesel vehicles, which companies say could cut the resale value of up to 15 million vehicles in Europe's biggest car market. In Germany, where motorists expect to drive powerful cars on motorways with no speed limits, any restrictions will be unpopular.
