2008 Audi Tt Base Convertible 2-door 2.0l Regular Title No Reserve on 2040-cars
Hightstown, New Jersey, United States
What Changed for 2008:
· The Audi TT Roadster are completely redesigned for 2008
· Longer and wider than previous model
· Audi Space Frame technology improves handling
Most manufacturers’ cars have grown heavier as the years have gone by. This isn’t true of Audi. Quite the opposite: more than ten years ago the Audi A8 and the Audi A2, with their aluminum bodies, put a stop to this never-ending spiral of increased weight. Since then, Audi has developed this pioneering weight-saving technology more and more. Today ASF (Audi Space Frame), as it is now known, is used for four Audi models: the TT, TT Roadster, R8 and A8. The Audi TT Roadster have build with its hybrid ASF technology, with steel used in addition to more than 70% of aluminum at certain points
· Fully automatic cloth power top on TT Roadster
· Power-retractable wind blocker on TT Roadster
· "S tronic" automatic transmission available on all models
The 2008 Audi TT 2.0T models feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 200 hp and 207 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard "S tronic" (formerly DSG) automatic transmission is a sophisticated 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox with electro-hydraulic control driving only the front wheels. EPA fuel economy estimates are 22 mpg city/29 mpg highway for the Roadster.
Audi's approach to the automatic transmission is revolutionary. Unlike most automatic transmissions, the "S tronic" direct-shift gearbox contains two wet plate-type clutches-much like a conventional manual transmission. The S tronic utilizes these clutches in sequence-and within a fraction of a second-to allow gearshifts to be made without power interruptions. Acceleration is as fast (or faster) than most drivers can operate a manual transmission. Though it is computer-regulated, the driver still has final control over the system. Shifting can be called for manually at the gear lever or through the steering wheel-mounted paddles. In automatic mode, the driver is able to choose between "sport" or "comfort" settings to regulate the intensity (and smoothness) of the shifts.
All 2008 TT models are equipped with automatic climate control, alcantara leather sport seats, aluminum interior trim, and power windows and mirrors. Standard wheels are 17-inch aluminum alloy. Options include Sirius satellite radio, heated front seats, and Audi magnetic ride-an innovative high-tech suspension dampening system that is automatically able to maintain ride comfort and sporty dynamics. The optional Audi Exclusive package adds two-tone leather seating and interior trim.
Standard safety equipment on the 2008 Audi TT Roadster includes dual-stage front air bags, side air bags, and a tire-pressure-monitoring system. An electronic stabilization program (ESP) and anti-lock brakes are standard on all models, as well. On the Roadster, roll hoops located behind the driver and passenger offer additional protection in the event of a vehicle rollover.
The car I'm offering for sale came from insurance auction with the water damage statement.
It's runs and drives(driving this car myself now). The car have passed NJ salvage inspection and have a regular NJ title with SF designation. The airbag module has been replaced and required coding, this is why the airbag light is on. Everything else working properly. The original mileage is an about 41k (showing by odometer and certified by NJ salvage inspection), but the title has 70k, by insurance company mistake. Car has almost brand new tiers installed by previous owner(have an invoice with the mileage statement). Please, feel free to ask a questions.

Audi RS7 vs. Porsche Panamera Turbo, which would you pick? [w/poll]
Wed, 08 Jan 2014We live in a blessed time - a time when you can buy not just one, but two (or three, or four) monstrously powerful, blazingly fast four-doors that can't only keep up with modern supercars, but in some instances, will outperform them as well. Two of the finest are the Audi RS7 and the refreshed Porsche Panamera Turbo, and Motor Trend has been messing around with the both of them in this comparison video.
MT provides a comprehensive and entertaining look at the RS7 and the turbocharged Panamera as they go through a battery of tests, before getting tossed about on both the road and the track. Starring flip-flop aficionado Jonny Lieberman, it's a must-watch, whether you're in the market for one of the two super sedans or merely want to see the former Autoblog editor again.
After having a look at the video, register a vote for the car you'd park in your driveway in our poll. Hop below for the full video from the team at Motor Trend.
Adam Carolla is world's the least helpful test drive co-pilot
Mon, 16 Jun 2014If you were going to test drive a new car, who would you want to take with you? Your spouse? A friend? Maybe an automotive journalist? Well take it from us: there's one of us riding shotgun just about every time we go to drive anything, and we're not all we're cracked up to be.
How about a celebrity comedian? Well, that largely depends on which comedian we're talking about here. Some - say, Jerry Seinfeld or Jay Leno, for example - might be more helpful than others, being more or less schooled in the finer points of the modern automobile. Adam Carolla might seem like he belongs on that list too, but in this latest video for a friends at Edmunds.com, the one-time host of The Car Show on Speed TV seems bent on being as comedically intrusive as possible. Which may be funny, but helpful? Not so much. See what we mean in the video below, and the next time you go to test drive a new car, you just might find the world's most popular podcast host climbing in with you.
Audi to abandon CVTs?
Thu, 24 Jul 2014The continuously variable transmission is one of those technologies that seems to make a lot of sense on paper, but in reality, almost always numbs the driving experience. That's one reason why Audi, according to reports, is planning to phase them out.
One of the first automakers to implement use of the CVT, Audi mates CVTs to larger engines than many other manufacturers, which typically install them on scooters, hybrids and small-displacement hatchbacks. But the time of the Audi CVT (which it calls Multimatic) may be near its end as a report from Australia indicates that Ingolstadt is moving toward a two-gearbox lineup that does not include the rubber-band transmission.
Instead, Audi is said to be focusing its attention on the S-tronic dual-clutch transmission and on conventional torque-converter automatics - although the development of beefier DCTs could spell the end of the Audi slushbox, as well. We've reached out to Audi for comment, so watch this space for confirmation.
