I do not even know where to start ! My Father bought this car NEW 2/17/95 and he was in Real Estate So he used this for Going to the Office and had a Chevy Blazer to go to the Jobs so this car Never saw winters or even rain because he would drive the Blazer on those days I was always the Tuner in the Famliy. So I pulled the computer out  when the car had 1000 miles on it and sent it to Intended Acceleration for the 300 H.P. chip $ 850.00  and installed it back in and Never have had a Problem !!! So my father drove this car till 1998 and parked it in the garage with around 79000 miles on it.So sense 1998 till 2007 he put on 21000 more miles then passed away in 2008 and I inhered it and put on 5000 miles in the last 4 years then gave it to my Daughter for a Graduation Present in 2011 as a car to drive on Nice Days and she put on 2000 miles and dose not want to drive it anymore because she is scared that something will happen to it weather a Door Ding ,Accident,Pot Holes Etc and has moved and dose not have a garage to put it in so it is back in my garage and we agree it is maybe time to sell it to get a practical newer car for her.So Now for the Details Has NEVER Been in a Accident !!! Always garaged over the years I would change the wheels to get a different look and sent it out in 2001 and had the bigger injectors, intake, header, high flow cats BOGE Struts and Eibach Springs and Kami Grille Kami spliter, side rockers front lower valance and rear valance and very rare rear window shade at $ 6500.00 and always tinkering and cleaning it over the Years in 2010 I converted the exhausts to a 2001 S8 Duals was NOT easy job I had to take out the spare tire tub fabricate a new floor for the trunk out of alum to keep it Light and have it Bonded in for it to be rigid then re-work the Zender rear Valnce spent about $ 2500.00 then I bought another set of wheels and Rims that were Chrome Did not like them so had them painted Black that are on the Car now Plus another set of wheels for Audi Club day when I took it around Limerock Track with the Club a LOT of Fun those wheels go with car also oh yea I had a lower custom made front spoiler made of fiberglass and carbon fiber at a cost of $ 2400 it is a 1 off only 1 ever made I leave it off so my Daughter did not forget about pulling up to curbs easy'er to leave it off these are in the icture with all the paper work Original Title Most of the  receipt's, Books, Key's Etc...I can go on and on only paint work was 5 years ago my buddy convince me to paint the front fenders because they had a lot of small stone chips because the flares stick out so I let him paint the fenders and they are a shade off in the right light you can see it but I do not trust anyone to blend any better !  also front and rear bumpers from stone chips but hood and all other panels are Original Paint and Show worthy.Interior is in Great shape everything works all leather is in Great Shape still have original Carpet floor mats ! There's just to much more to say Look at the Pictures read up about this car They Only Imported S6's in 1995 and Read any article about this Car and it will say this was the BEST AUDI Ever Made ! The Audi Q7 doesn't want me to speed and I'm not totally okay with that

Thu, Feb 11 2016

I'm a big fan of adaptive cruise control. My commute is 50 miles each way, almost all on freeways here in Michigan. If everyone drove at the same speed there'd be little need for smart cruise, but I live in reality where people camp out in the left lane and practice going from the gas to the brake for no apparent reason. Radar cruise systems let me set my max speed and just worry about steering. But Audi has gone a step further with its adaptive cruise system. And it's a step I'm not sure I'm comfortable with. Audi's system, as featured on the new Q7, has a feature that uses the forward-facing camera to read speed-limit signs, something that's becoming common in Europe and is now making its way here in the continent's luxury cars. That part's fine; it's useful information and gets nicely integrated into Audi's Virtual Cockpit screen and on the head-up display. What the car then does with that info, however, is the issue: If your set cruise speed is higher than the speed on a sign you pass, the car will drop the cruise speed down to the limit. But it's not perfect. On one stretch of highway, the Q7 picked up the speed limit posted on the parallel service road, dropping me down from a little above the limit to 30 mph. It didn't slam on the brakes, but it did confuse me at first and require intervention before the car slowed down to a crawl. This feature isn't ready for primetime. Luckily, it can be turned off or switched to a mode where it gives you a warning that the speed limit has changed (or at least that the car thinks it has) and lets you react before the set cruise speed is changed automatically. When activated, it's a safety issue. A more serious one, in my opinion, than driving a little over the speed limit, especially when it means interrupting the flow of traffic. There's nothing predictable about a car trundling along in the fast lane and then completely letting off the gas. It's not predictable for the driver behind you, and it's not something a driver expects of their own vehicle. Yes, this feature was obviously developed for people driving on the Autobahn, where speeds can drop down from unlimited to a slow crawl pretty quickly when entering a construction zone or approaching a built-up area. German roads also have more consistent signage, so the false-positive scenario I experienced might not have come up there.

Audi creates new diesel fuel from carbon dioxide and water

Mon, Apr 27 2015

What if you could power cars of the future with pollution created by the cars of the past? That's what German automaker Audi is hoping to achieve by creating a new synthetic fuel using renewable energy to turn water and carbon dioxide gas into a new kind of fuel they call "e-diesel." The new diesel is being produced at Audi's pilot plant Sunfire in Dresden, Germany. Only a few gallons were created, which the German Federal Minister of Education and Research Johanna Wanka put into her Audi A8 to prove the fuel's bonafides. The base fuel is known as "blue crude" and begins from a green source. Audi uses electricity from wind, water or solar power sources to separate hydrogen from oxygen in water. The hydrogen is then mixed with carbon dioxide which has been converted in carbon oxide. The blue crude is then further refined to create the e-diesel. The carbon dioxide is currently supplied by a biogas facilities, but some of that CO2 was captured from the air. "The engine runs quieter and fewer pollutants are being created," says Sunfire CTO Christian von Olshausen. The fuel can be combined with conventional diesel fuel, as biodiesel fuels already and would be competitively priced against regular diesel, according to Gizmag. Sunfire can produce about 42 gallons of e-diesel a day. That seems like barely a drop in the bucket in terms of Europe's energy use, but Audi is ready to commercialize the technology with plans to expand production with a bigger facility in the future.

Why we can't have better headlights here in the U.S.

Tue, Mar 13 2018

It wouldn't be a European auto show if we weren't teased with at least one mainstream vehicle we can't have here. At the Geneva Motor Show last week, the small but vocal contingent of shooting-brake buffs lamented that the Mazda6 wagon won't be coming to our shores, although they can take comfort in the fact that the vehicle won't get the torquey 250-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine we'll get here. Mercedes-Benz also announced a new headlight technology in Geneva that likely won't be available here anytime soon. It's just the latest in a long line of innovative and potentially lifesaving front-lighting solutions that the federal government doesn't allow in this country due to outdated standards — and a current lack of leadership at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Mercedes-Benz's new Digital Light system that debuted in Geneva uses a computer chip to activate more than a million micro-reflectors to better illuminate the road ahead. The Digital Light headlamps works with the vehicle's cameras, sensors and navigation mapping to adjust lighting for the given location and situation and to detect other road users. The Digital Light technology also serves as an extended head-up display of sorts by projecting symbols on the pavement ahead to alert drivers to, say, slippery conditions or pedestrians in the road. And it can even project lines on the road in a construction zone or through tight curves to show the driver the correct path. Digital Light will be available on Mercedes-Maybach vehicles later this year, although like any technology it's bound to trickle down to less expensive vehicles. That is, if we ever get it here in the U.S. Audi, a leader in automotive lighting, has repeatedly run into snags trying to bring state-of-the-art car headlights to the U.S. The German luxury automaker's recently introduced matrix laser headlight system, which performs many of the same trick as Mercedes-Benz's Digital Light, also isn't legal on U.S. roads. And five years after the introduction of its matrix-beam LED lighting, which illuminates more of the road without blinding oncoming motorists with brights by simultaneously operating high and low beams, Audi still can't bring that technology to the U.S. either.
