It is rare anywhere in the country to see the Audi S4 Convertible featuring Audi's Sprint Blue Pearl exterior to accompany a Black top and Black leather interior with Silver piping.  This 2005 model is presented for sale by its 2nd owner after five years of roof-down summer driving on the beautiful roads of Virginia.  While the all-wheel drive Quattro offers a chance to take the S4 out in less than ideal weather condition, this vehicle was garage stored and limited to ideal weather conditions, averaging about 8,400 miles per year for me and under 8,000 miles per year for its lifetime.
Overview.

This S4 is powered by Audi's powerful 4.2L 380HP dial overhead camshaft, sequential electronic fuel injection V8 engine with two-stage variable valve timing technology.  It features a 6-speed TipTronic automatic transmissions with paddles, dynamic shift programming (DSP), and hill detection capability.  The Audi Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system features Torsen torque-sensing center differential and Electronic Differential Locks.  It rides on 18" x 8" 6-spoke forged alloy wheels.  In the trunk, below the storage area, is a full-size spare tire on a matching wheel.  The vehicle has a Servotronic close ratio power rack & pinion steering.

While its exterior appearance and interior features are outstanding, they are matched by Audi's array of safety features, including the Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP) that provides brake assist power four-wheel antilock ventilated disc brakes with electronic brake pressure distribution, drive and front passenger frontal restraint airbags, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side impact airbags, and 3-point seat belts with automatic pretensioners and front seatbelt force limiters.

The black soft top retracts via a fully automatic power system linked to the windows and AC/heat system upon opening and closing.  The rear window is glass and is heated. The xenon headlamps are housed within aerodynamic 2-way elipsoid projectors that include variable focus reflectors and integrated low/high beam tubes.  The headlamps feature automatic self-leveling adjustments and retractable headlight  washers.  There also is an autoblink feature.  Dual fog lights are in the front and a single fog light is in the rear.  The power side mirrors are heated and aluminum-coated, with RH Convex.  They feature and auto angling system when the vehicle is in reverse.  The four-position intermittent windshield wipers include heated washer nozzles.

More about the Interior - The leather 12-way power sport front bucket seats include 4-way power lumbar support and electronically adjustable headrests.  The seat positions are lockable. The front center armrest is leather.  It is foldable and height adjustable; it contains two cup holders.  In the rear, the center armrest is leather and folds down.  It also contains two cup holders as well as space for a first aid kit (which may also be stored in a side compartment in the trunk). Through the center armrest in the rest, a fully contained holder for skis is accessible.  The sport steering wheel is leather wrapped and include the TipTronic paddle controls as well as other functional controls.  The shift knob and hand brake level also are leather wrapped.  Throughout the interior, this Audi S4 features genuine wood inlays - in the dashboard, center console, door panels, and rear seating area.

More about the dashboard console - The instrument panel is backlit in red/white illumination with an automatic brightness control.

A full set of exterior, interior, and engine photos will be added shortly to accompany the listing.

The fuel tank holds 16.6 gallons. During the five years I have owned the vehicle, I continue to experience highway mileage rates of 24-26 mpg and city mileage rates of 16-18 mpg.

The vehicle is smoke-free.  We added Audi's premium floor mats for front and back.

Audi reveals updated RS7 Sportback in Europe

Mon, 02 Jun 2014

It was just a couple of weeks ago that Audi revealed a few mild updates to its A7. It even ported those changes over to the warmed-up S7 performance version. All that was missing was the full-steam RS7, and that's precisely what we have here.
Now before you get all excited, note that the new RS7 packs the same powertrain as the model it succeeds, but then again, the existing RS7 hardly lacked in the power department. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 still churns out 560 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, transmitted to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic. Revealed initially for the European market (with US details presumably to follow), the 0-62 kilometers per hour time is quoted at 3.9 seconds, so the 0-60 mph time ought to match the 3.7 seconds of the preceding model.
What has changed are the subtle tweaks Audi has made to the exterior and equipment upgrades inside. The grille now features has a horizontal section at the bottom with the Quattro logo emblazoned across like all other recently revised RS models, flanked by new headlights (Matrix LED units for the European market). Inside the cabin the air-con vents and shift paddles have been reshaped, and the new MMI system ports over from the new A7 and S7 with 4G LTE connectivity and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Audi S3 Cabriolet is a topless two-door temptress

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

Now that we've driven the Audi S3, we're pretty eager for it go on sale in the United States. And while we won't get the Sportback version, there's a teeny tiny chance that Audi may grace us with this new Cabriolet version that makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show this week.
That certainly wouldn't be a shame, considering the topless S3 packs the same 290 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque as the sedan, all of which comes from a turbocharged, 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine. That folding roof mechanism adds a bit of weight to the S3 package, and thus, reaching that ever-so-special 62 miles per hour takes an extra half a second - 5.4 compared to 4.9 with the S3 sedan.
Looks-wise, we dig the aggressive little S3, though the chrome wheels of the show car are kind of throwing us off. Swap out a set of standard alloys, and we'll be good to go. Have a look in the gallery above to see the topless Audi for yourself.

Evo drives the Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro on track

Mon, Dec 29 2014

Audi invited Evo scribe Richard Meaden to the Misano circuit in Italy to drive the Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro - and not just any R18 Quattro, were such a thing possible, but the No. 2 car that took first place at Le Mans this year driven by Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer. Meaden got just four laps in the diesel hybrid racecar - a warm-up, two hot laps and a cool down lap - so this wasn't about testing the R18 E-Tron's limits. In fact, Meaden makes it clear that such a thing isn't even possible for less than a professional driver; when driving at his limits (admittedly in Audi's very expensive car being watched by dozens of Audi engineer eyeballs), the data showed he was using 60 percent of the pedal effort of the professionals. Nevertheless, Meaden does have a lot to say about how the car delivers its massive ability, and with the wide-view shot of the cockpit we also get to see how busy and how intimate an endurance driver's office is. Check it out in the video above. News Source: Evo via YouTube Green Audi Racing Vehicles Videos evo
