2001 Audi S4 (B5 model) with approximately 126xxx miles on it (yes it is bi-turbo sorry I forgot to snap a pic of under the hood but I assure you everything is in its place). The Good: FAST and runs Great. It is an automatic but does have a manual shifting mode with steering wheel shifters Upgraded inner-coolers It is Black on Black. The interior is in great shape aside from one small tare in the driver seat. The timing belt was replaced right around 100xxx miles The alternator was replaced at about 115xxx miles. The tires have roughly 1000 miles on them but look great! The Bad: I would replace the torque converter but it does still drive well I have a code saying it need a sensor for it. It also has a leak in the windshield wiper fluid reservoir. the Front bumper has two nicks in it. CHECK insurance rates can be costly if its for your kids first car. I also have all new performance brakes with drilled and slotted routers that may go with the car I am interested in cash but am also open to reasonable trades Please contact me if you want to discuss a trade. 2013 Audi RS5 Cabriolet
Wed, 29 May 2013The Audi RS5 is a bit of an odd duck in the brand's US lineup. At the moment it is one of only two RS models - the other being the TT RS - atop a pyramid of A and higher-performing S models. It is not, however, the brand's flagship performance model - not even close - that space being occupied by variants of the R8 supercar, specifically the V10 and GT models, and upcoming 560-horsepower RS7.
The RS5 does, however, owe its beating heart to those ten-cylinder R8s, its own 4.2-liter V8 almost identical to those engines save for two fewer cylinders. Outside of the R8, then, the RS5 is the lone bastion of naturally aspirated V8 power in a brand that once happily shoved 4.2-liter V8s under any hood that they would fit. Today, not even the giant Q7 SUV offers a V8. Lastly, the RS5 is not new, except to us, having been on sale in Europe in coupe form the last couple of years.
While Europeans were able to enjoy the hardtop two-door without us, the RS5 Cabriolet is reaching both peoples around the same time: now. We reviewed the RS5 coupe just recently, and having spent some time with the tin-top model myself as well, here is my take on the droptop version of what I consider one of Audi's most interesting models.
Audi recalls 850,000 A4 models globally for airbags that won't deploy
Thu, 23 Oct 2014Audi has announced that it will be recalling 850,000 A4 sedans, wagons and Allroad models across the globe due to a software problem that could prevent the front airbags from deploying. All 850,000 vehicles were built after 2012.
Audi has already adjusted production of new A4s to eliminate the software glitch. Meanwhile, the German manufacturer was quick to emphasize that Takata did not manufacture the affected airbags.
According to Reuters, 250,000 of the affected A4s were built for the Chinese market, while another 150,000 were sold in Germany. Audi didn't provide a breakdown beyond those two countries, although it'd be a surprise if there weren't at least some affected airbags in the US market.
Audi leading rival BMW in worldwide luxury sales race
Tue, 11 Mar 2014If you thought competition among the German luxury automakers was hot before, it looks like things are just getting started. For the first two months of the year, Audi has sold more cars than BMW worldwide by just 383 cars.
Audi claims to have sold 242,400 vehicles through February, up 9.3 percent from last year, compared to 242,017 units from BMW, up 8.9 percent, in the same period. While the advantage is tiny, its implications could be huge because Bimmer has been the leader in the premium car segment for the last nine consecutive years. Mercedes-Benz lags behind them somewhat at 229,630 vehicles through February. According to Bloomberg, at this time last year Audi had sold 429 fewer cars than BMW.
The growth is all part of Volkswagen Group's goal to become the world's largest automaker. It currently ranks in second when its heavy truck businesses are considered. The German automotive giant also wants to be the world's leading premium carmaker. "Competition in the premium segment is more intense than ever," said Audi CEO Rupert Stadler to Bloomberg.
